WWE NXT 2.0 Results: Winners, Grades, Reaction and Highlights from September 6

Worlds Collide brought NXT UK to a close so that a new era of WWE NXT 2.0 can move forward. Bron Breakker and Mandy Rose unified titles, while Pretty Deadly pulled off a shocking win against Diamond Mine to become NXT tag team champions.

This left the September 6 edition of NXT as a chance to pick up the pieces, and there were many matches that needed to happen.

Ricochet challenged Trick Williams, who cost him his match with Carmelo Hayes at Worlds Collide on Sunday. Toxic Attraction got in the way of another team challenging for the NXT Women's Tag Team Championships, and they would pay for it in a match with Nikki A.S.H. and Doudrop.

Axiom and Nathan Frazer began a best-of-three series to determine who was better. Wes Lee challenged JD McDonagh. Roxanne Perez got one of her dream matches in a challenge to Meiko Satomura.

Tuesday's card was surprisingly packed and plenty more was expected in the wake of one of the brand's biggest events.

Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne had a game plan to isolate Nikki A.S.H. But it did not pay off as Doudrop ran over them both once she was tagged in, defeating Dolin with a running low crossbody.

Nikki and Doudrop worked their third match in as many days, which shows how much WWE values this team. However, with only one win in three, it doesn't show any clear investment.

It also was odd to see the two women working together so cohesively after an argument between the two on WWE Raw. Hopefully, the idea is to bring back the old Nikki Cross while she and Doudrop rebuild their image in NXT.

It was a good match in the end, underlining Toxic Attraction's long-term value, and it was the best bout Nikki and Doudrop have been involved with in a while.

Whenever Dolin and Jayne head to Raw or SmackDown, they should thrive.

• The show opened with Tyler Bate, who was interrupted by Gallus. Bron Breakker made the save and challenged the heels to a tag team match.
• Backstage, Pretty Deadly talked up their tag team title win at Worlds Collide.
• Mandy Rose announced on Instagram that she was taking a vacation this week.
• Doudrop tagged in and knocked Jayne onto Dolin before hitting them both with a standing elbow drop. The Scot looked great throughout.
  
• Nikki tapped into an old persona when she pulled Jayne under the apron and battered her with forearms.
  

JD McDonagh found himself more challenged than expected by Wes Lee, but The Irish Ace still put him away with the Devil Inside.

This was a much stronger foundation match for McDonagh than we have seen to date. Lee challenged him without ever threatening him. It was an extended enhancement bout that made clear why The Irish Ace is still a threat to anyone.

The problem for McDonagh is a lack of competition coming down the pipeline. As he builds his new character, he needs opponents who can push him without outshining him.

Notable Moments

• Vic Joseph freaked out as McDonagh tried to grab him, selling his fear of the man.
• McDonagh only seemed to smile as Lee hit him harder with big kicks.
• In a pre-taped video, Apollo Crews showed the damage Grayson Waller did to his right eye and promised to get him back for it.
  

Roxanne Perez challenged Meiko Satomura early with fast and aggressive offense. However, each time The Final Boss connected on a big kick, it dazed Perez.

Satomura put the young star away with the Scorpio Rising.

This was everything it promised to be and more. Perez looked like a completely different wrestler, able to unleash what she has held back while facing developing talent. Satomura gave her a spotlight, and she grabbed it.

Even without winning, the 20-year-old walked out a winner. In fact, she may have benefited more from the loss because the eventual return match will be even better.

Meanwhile, The Final Boss should be poised for a singles match with Mandy Rose before long.

Perez has unfinished business with Jade as both continue to push themselves up the ranks.

• Cora Jade was shown backstage watching closely, angry that she wasn't facing Satomura.
  
• Perez looked nervous before the bell, but she got going after shaking hands with one of her idols.
• The crowd chanted "women's wrestling" as Perez and Satomura answered each other move for move.
• Perez nearly won off a Frankensteiner, but she could not get that close again.
  
• After the match, Jade smashed the back of Perez with her kendo stick.
  

Trick Williams looked good early on, but Ricochet was unfazed. He planted Trick with the Recoil and a shooting star press to pick up an emphatic win.

This was better than it had any right to be. Trick looked good as The One and Only sold for him early. While the result was never in question, the two had a sprint that could have hit comfortably on the main roster shows.

It looks like Ricochet may go for a second shot at Melo. Given the quality of their first encounter, it's not a bad idea, but it's important Ricochet is not the one to dethrone The A Champion...unless Melo is heading to SmackDown.

Notable Moments

• Carmelo Hayes watched on commentary and coached Trick on beating down The One and Only, telling him to repeatedly slam his head into the announce table.
  
• In a vignette, Damon Kemp explained why he attempted to destroy Diamond Mine. The Creed Brothers and Ivy Nile promised to make Kemp pay. Pretty Deadly taunted them.
  
• Backstage, Kiana James connected with Ariana Grace, agreeing to work together to take down Nikkita Lyons and Zoey Stark.
• Tony D'Angelo and Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo called out Pretty Deadly for paying off Kemp to help them. Later, Cameron Grimes told The Don he would not work for him and got laid out with a uranage through a table.
• Melo did not like the idea of facing a fan-voted opponent next week.

Nathan Frazer wore down the knee of Axiom, but he could not put The Superhero away, who sealed his win with a running leg lariat.

This was a match built with athleticism rather than story, but it built that thanks to the physical work of both men. They flew around the ring before leaning into technical offense down the stretch.

It was the best showcase for either man in NXT 2.0 to date, and this was only Part 1. Hopefully, Frazer will pick up the win in the second match of the three to make sure this series goes the distance. These two need this spotlight.

• Frazer sent Axiom to the floor with a dropkick then dived onto him to gain control.
• Axiom twisted at the arm of Frazer, who lifted him up into a swinging neckbreaker.
• Frazer moonsaulted off the ropes into a reverse DDT on Axiom then planted him with a Slingblade to set up a standing Shooting Star Press, but Axiom got his knees up.
  
• Surfing footage was shown to hype a new star named Sol Ruca.
  

Gallus tried to control the ring by isolating Tyler Bate, but Bron Breakker trusted his partner. After the NXT champion took out Joe Coffey with a Spear, Bate hit a rebound clothesline into the Tyler Driver 98 for the win.

JD McDonagh attacked Bate from behind afterward and retreated before Breakker could get to him.

While Breakker is unlikely to go into the tag team division soon, he and Bate looked great together. This could be a great way to introduce the NXT champion on the main roster, working with another young veteran in a dominant tag team.

Joe and Mark Coffey are a reliable tag team and will rebound, but Gallus lost too much this past week. It will take some time to get the group into title contention again.

• Backstage, Bate thanked Breakker before their match for helping him.
• Security agreed to watch Gallus closely. Javier Bernal made fun of them with a familiar guard challenging him.
• Breakker and Bate hit side-by-side delayed vertical suplexes and then held the ring.
• Wolfgang attacked Bate, throwing him into the steel post to give Gallus the edge.
