French Open 2024 Results: Instant Reactions to Sunday's Winners and Losers

The fourth round of the 2024 French Open began on Sunday as top players on both the men's and women's sides competed for a spot in the quarterfinals.
On the men's side, Jannik Sinner struggled in his opening set, though he was able to rebound in dominant fashion.
French Open favorite Carlos Alcaraz breezed to a straight-set victory, while Stefanos Tsitsipas came back from a set-down against clay-court specialist Matteo Arnaldi.
Alcaraz and Tsitsipas will face off in the quarterfinal for the second straight year, with Tsitsipas looking to avenge last year's straight-set loss.
In the women's draw, Iga Swiatek played her best match yet, double-bageling her opponent, while Coco Gauff limited her opponent to just three games total.
If each player is able to win their quarterfinal match, Swiatek and Gauff will face off against each other, with the winner earning a spot in the final.

Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner Shine in Fourt Round Matches

In the bottom half of the men's draw, both Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz were back in action, competing in the fourth round.
Sinner opened his match against Corentin Moutet, playing perhaps the most sloppy set all year.
The No. 2 seed committed 14 unforced errors in the first set and lost three of his service games.
Though he faced early struggles, the Italian was able to bounce back and limit Moutet to just six games for the rest of the match, showing just why he's so hard to beat.
In another headlining match, Carlos Alcaraz faced off against an in-form and resurgent Felix Auger-Aliassime.
Despite the Canadian's current form and momentu, Alcaraz was able to dominate in straight sets.
Sinner and Alcaraz continue to look like the favorites from the bottom of the draw, and a potential thrilling match awaits the two in the semifinal round.
Iga Swiatek Displays Lastest Masterclass, Coco Gauff Strong in Win

Iga Swiatek was untouchable in her fourth round match.
The No. 1 seed coasted to a dominant 6-0, 6-0 victory in just 41 minutes.
Swiatek committed just two unforced errors and, at one point, won 18 points in a row.
Elsewhere, Coco Gauff put on another strong display, winning in straight sets.
Swiatek will face No. 5 seed Marketa Vondrousova in the quarterfinals, while Coco Gauff will have a tough match against No. 8 seed Ons Jabeur.
Despite the challenges that their opponents bring, both Swiatek and Gauff should be expected to advance to the semifinal round.
