French Open 2024 Results: Instant Reactions to Tuesday's Winners and Losers

Jannik Sinner defeated Grigor Dimitrov in straight sets to reach the French Open semifinals for the first time in his career.
Furthermore, with Djokovic's withdrawal from the French Open, Sinner is the new world No. 1 in the ATP Rankings.
The 22-year-old will face rival and French Open favorite Carlos Alcaraz in the semifinal.
The two have met a total of eight times, each with four wins in the head-to-head matchup.
On the women's side, Iga Swiatek continues to dominate.
The No. 1 seed bageled No. 5 seed Marketa Vondrousova in the opening set and limited the Czech to just two games in the second set.
Swiatek will face Coco Gauff in the semifinals, a head-to-head matchup she has won 10 of 11 times (all in straight sets) and will likely enter as the overwhelming favorite.

Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner Continue to Look in Top Form

Jannik Sinner continued his impressive form with a straight-set win against Grigor Dimitrov.
The 2024 Australian Open champion won all but one of his service games and committed just 20 unforced errors against Dimitrov.
Sinner has lost just one set in his five French Open matches.
The Italian's semifinal opponent, Carlos Alcaraz, defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets in the quarterfinal for the second straight year.
Alcaraz entered the tournament with fitness concerns and more than a three-week gap in tournament play, though he has excelled with his footwork and consistency.
The two will be meeting in a Grand Slam setting for just the third time ever and the first since their five-set, five-hour plus thriller in the 2022 US Open quarterfinals.
Their upcoming semifinal match has the makings of another long battle, as not much separates the two at the moment.
Iga Swiatek Nearing Third Straight French Open Title

Since staring down a match point to Naomi Osaka in the third set of the second round, Iga Swiatek has been nearly flawless.
The No. 1 has bounced back remarkably, committing fewer errors (31) in her last three matches than she did in her match against Osaka (32).
Additionally, she has surrendered just two total games in her last two matches.
Swiatek will face Coco Gauff in the semifinal match and should be expected to advance given her other-worldly dominance on the clay surface and historical success against the young American.
