Men's Preview

Four terrific teams will take the pitch on Monday, including host nation, France.
The French are the betting favorites (-105) to win the entire tournament, which shouldn't come as a surprise. In addition to having home-field advantage, Team France has a talented squad led by former Arsenal striker and team captain Alexandre Lacazette.
France's defense has been fantastic throughout the tournament. It did not allow a goal during group play and squeaked out a 1-0 win over Argentina thanks to a Jean-Philippe Mateta header.
Standing between France and the gold-medal match is Egypt, which won Group C with two wins and a draw. Goals have been hard to come by for the Egyptians, who scored only three of them in group play. The Egyptians will have to lean on their own solid defense—which has allowed only two goals thus far—if it hopes to upset the French.
This will mark Egypt's first appearance in the Olympic semifinals.
Morocco, which features Paris St.-Germain star Achraf Hakimi, has emerged from group play for the first time in its Olympic history. The semifinals are obviously uncharted territory for the Moroccans, but there are reasons to believe they can get past Spain, which won silver at the Tokyo Olympics.
During the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Moroccans defeated Spain in a round-of-16 stunner on penalty kicks.
The Moroccan attack has also been one of the hottest in the tournament. Only France and the U.S. scored more goals during group play, and Morocco has recorded 10 successful strikes through the quarterfinals.
Moroccan striker Soufiane Rahimi led all players with four goals during group play.
Women's Preview

While the U.S. men's team had its medal hopes dashed in the quarterfinals, the women's team marches on.
Led by seasoned veterans like Lindsey Horan and Rose Lavelle, the Americans are looking to return to the gold-medal game for the first time since 2012—which Team USA won. The U.S. was in top form during group play, finishing with an unblemished record, nine goals for and only two goals against.
However, it took an extra-time strike from Olympic newcomer Trinity Rodman to lift Team USA past Japan on Saturday.
"I kind of blacked out," Rodman said, per Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post. "That's like the best moment in my career."
That win sets up a rematch with Germany, which Team USA defeated 4-1 during group play. While the Americans should carry plenty of confidence into the match, the Germans, who won gold in the 2016 Rio Games, have experience at this stage.
Standout striker Alexandra Popp was part of that 2016 squad.
While most American fans will be most interested in Tuesday's early game, the afternoon battle between Brazil and Spain should be plenty of fun as well.
Brazil stunned France on Saturday with an 82nd-minute goal by Gabi Portilho. The Brazilian had to face France without legendary star Marta, who was assigned a red card during their group finale against Spain.
Marta should return for the semifinal rematch in what is her sixth Olympic tournament. Getting past Spain will be no easy feat, though, as the Spaniards have one of the most stacked rosters in the entire field.
Led by FC Barcelona stars Alexia Putellas, Aitana Bonmati, and Salma Paralluelo, Spain carries 15 players from the squad that won the 2023 Women's World Cup.
