Can the US Make It 2-0 Against Germany?

Trinity Rodman found the net in extra minutes of the United States' quarterfinal round match-up against Japan, lifting her team to a one-nil win and cashing their ticket to the semifinal round, where they will meet a German team coming off their own overtime heroics against defending Olympic champions, Canada.
The showdown will be the second time these two teams have met in these Olympic Games, with the first coming in the form of a convincing 4-1 victory for the Americans.
Head coach Emma Hayes will look to keep her team focused, forgetting about their first victory over the Germans and committed to executing the game plan and advancing to the gold medal game.
Hayes has been phenomenal as the US coach and strategist, going unbeaten in her first eight games as the leader of the national team. She will coach her team to what she hopes is a 12th straight victory in France dating back to its 2019 Women's World Cup victory.
The return of defensive midfielder Sam Coffey from suspension will help as she is expected to be inserted right back into the starting lineup and pay immediate dividends.
Her presence should strengthen what is already a talented defense and, coupled with the excellent Alyssa Naeher in the net, should present Germany a tough front to try and score against.
Rodman has been directly involved, in one form or fashion, in nearly every goal scored by the Americans in these games. She has announced herself as one of the faces of the country's international game for the foreseeable future and her continued growth and evolution as a player, coupled with that of teammate Sophia Smith and the on-field leader, Mallory Swanson, should have fans very excited about what the United States can accomplish in both these Olympics and other international opportunities.
An even match-up with plenty of potential to follow in the footsteps of both teams' quarterfinal games by going to extra minutes, the Americans are still better both on paper and execution and should be able to outlast their rivals and move on to compete for the gold medal
