Week 3 Fantasy Football Rankings: Updated Positional Breakdown for Flex and PPR
Week 3 Fantasy Football Rankings: Updated Positional Breakdown for Flex and PPR

The fantasy football season continues Sunday with Week 3 of the 2024 NFL season.
This week's slate of games features several games with favorable match-ups for fantasy studs, including a New Orleans Saints vs. Philadelphia Eagles game that could have several Top 10 finishers at their respective positions.
Who ranks among the best at each position this week and which sleepers should managers consider amid injuries and underperformers?
Find out with this preview.
Quarterbacks

The Top 10 quarterbacks of Week 3 are as follows:
- Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
- Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens at Dallas Cowboys
- Derek Carr, New Orleans Saints vs. Philadelphia Eagles
- Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals vs. Washington Commanders
- Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles at New Orleans Saints
- Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs at Atlanta Falcons
- CJ Stroud, Houston Texans at Minnesota Vikings
- Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals vs. Detroit Lions
- Caleb Williams, Chicago Bears at Indianapolis Colts
- Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Denver Broncos
Sleeper: Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams vs. San Francisco 49ers
Stafford is missing both starting wide receivers, Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp, but he ranks fourth in the league in passing yards entering Sunday's game against San Francisco and plays a 49ers defense giving up the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks.
The veteran quarterback will be able to find Tyler Johnson, Jordan Whittington, and Demarcus Robinson and add to his yardage total, making him valuable to fantasy managers looking to replace Jordan Love or Tua Tagovailoa, both of whom are currently sidelined due to injury.
Stafford hopes last week's five-sack, one-fumble performance against Arizona was the exception to the rule here in 2024. Against a 49ers squad that he knows well, his ability to evade rushers and take advantage of the leaky pass defense makes him an intriguing sleeper candidate at a time when there is not a lot to love about the Rams' skill players.
Running Backs

The Top 10 running backs of Week 3 are as follows:
- De'Von Achane, Miami Dolphins at Seattle Seahawks
- Alvin Kamara, New Orleans Saints vs. Philadelphia Eagles
- Jordan Mason, San Francisco 49ers at Los Angeles Rams
- Bijan Robinson, Atlanta Falcons at San Francisco 49ers
- James Cook, Buffalo Bills at Jacksonville Jaguars
- Saquon Barkley, Philadelphia Eagles at New Orleans Saints
- JK Dobbins, Los Angeles Chargers at Pittsburgh Steelers
- James Conner, Arizona Cardinals vs. Detroit Lions
- Derrick Henry, Baltimore Ravens at Dallas Cowboys
- Kyren Williams, Los Angeles Rams vs. San Francisco 49ers
Sleeper: Tony Pollard, Tennessee Titans vs. Green Bay Packers
Tony Pollard has excelled for the Titans thus far, with 20.5 touches per game and 98 total yards. The former Cowboys runner has had plenty of opportunity, too, staying on the field for 65 percent of snaps through his first two games.
The Green Bay Packers have allowed 26.9 points per game to opposing running backs.
Pollard is an explosive, strong runner and will have the opportunity to be one of the prime performers among running backs in Week 3.
If he can navigate a Packers defense that will likely try to load up the box and stop him in hopes of making the Titans' much-maligned quarterback Will Levis beat them, a Top 10 finish should not be counted out.
Wide Receivers

The Top 10 wide receivers of Week 3 are as follows:
- Justin Jefferson, Minnesota Vikings vs. Houston Texans
- Davante Adams, Las Vegas Raiders vs. Carolina Panthers
- Ja'Marr Chase, Cincinnati Bengals vs. Washington Commanders
- Amon-Ra St. Brown, Detroit Lions at Arizona Cardinals
- CeeDee Lamb, Dallas Cowboys vs. Baltimore Ravens
- Brandon Aiyuk, San Francisco 49ers at Los Angeles Rams
- DaVonta Smith, Philadelphia Eagles at New Orleans Saints
- Chris Olave, New Orleans Saints vs. Philadelphia Eagles
- Tyreek Hill, Miami Dolphins at Seattle Seahawks
- Malik Numbers, New York Giants vs. Cleveland Browns
Sleepers: Khalil Shakir, Buffalo Bills vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars have yielded 37.95 fantasy points to opposing wide receivers thus far in the 2024 season. While that position may be the weakest on this year's Bills squad, at least on paper, Shakir is a worthy sleeper candidate in Week 3.
Shakir's target-drawing ability has increased this season and in last week's game against Miami caught five balls for 54 yards.
If the third-year player can continue to build on what he has accomplished thus far, and build on-field chemistry with his all-world quarterback, Josh Allen, he figures to be a quality FLEX option, at the very least.
Tight Ends

The Top 10 tight ends of Week 3 are as follows:
- Sam LaPorta, Detroit Lions at Arizona Cardinals
- Brock Bowers, Las Vegas Raiders vs. Carolina Panthers
- Trey McBride, Arizona Cardinals vs. Detroit Lions
- Dalton Kincaid, Buffalo Bills vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
- Isaiah Likely, Baltimore Ravens at Dallas Cowboys
- Kyle Pitts, Atlanta Falcons vs. Kansas City Chiefs
- Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs at Atlanta Falcons
- Dallas Goedert, Philadelphia Eagles at New Orleans Saints
- Jake Ferguson, Dallas Cowboys vs. Baltimore Ravens
- Colby Parkinson, Los Angeles Rams vs. San Francisco 49ers
Sleeper: Dalton Schultz, Houston Texans at Minnesota Vikings
Dalton Schultz has been a nonfactor for the Houston Texans through the first two weeks of the season, thanks to the plethora of quality receivers that quarterback CJ Stroud has at his disposal. Tank Dell, Nico Collins, and Stefon Diggs make up one of the most dynamic receiver rooms in the league so it figures that Schultz would be the odd man out.
Despite a slow start, Schultz is worth a pickup for those managers dealing with George Kittle's absence in Sunday's game with Los Angeles.
The Vikings give up 14.65 fantasy points to opposing tight ends, meaning he will have an opportunity to make an impact.
If he does not have a breakout performance Sunday, it may be time to consider that Schultz's fantasy value is minimal, at best, as long as he remains in what has quickly become a crowded offense.
Defense/Special Teams and Kickers

The Top 10 defenses of Week 3 are as follows:
- Cleveland Browns vs. New York Giants
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Denver Broncos
- Seattle Seahawks vs. Miami Dolphins
- Las Vegas Raiders vs. Carolina Panthers
- Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Los Angeles Chargers
- Chicago Bears at Indianapolis Colts
- Buffalo Bills vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
- San Francisco 49ers at Los Angeles Rams
- Detroit Lions at Arizona Cardinals
- Los Angeles Rams vs. San Francisco 49ers
The Top 10 kickers of Week 3 are as follows:
- Jake Moody, San Francisco 49ers at Los Angeles Rams
- Brandon Aubrey, Dallas Cowboys vs. Baltimore Ravens
- Ka'imi Fairbarin, Houston Texans at Minnesota Vikings
- Evan McPherson, Cincinnati Bengals vs. Washington Commanders
- Chris Boswell, Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Los Angeles Chargers
- Cameron Dicker, Los Angeles Chargers at Pittsburgh Steelers
- Justin Tucker, Baltimore Ravens at Dallas Cowboys
- Daniel Carson, Las Vegas Raiders vs. Carolina Panthers
- Harrison Butker, Kansas City Chiefs at Atlanta Falcons
- Jake Bates, Detroit Lions at Arizona Cardinals
