Fantasy Football Big Board: Complete 2024 PPR Player Rankings Entering Week 4
Fantasy Football Big Board: Complete 2024 PPR Player Rankings Entering Week 4

Well, the first three weeks of the 2024 fantasy football season have been...something.
It took until Week 3 for a quarterback to post the first 300-yard, three-score game—and that quarterback was a 36-year-old backup for arguably the worst team in the league. Fantasy managers are still waiting for the first appearance from the No. 1 overall pick in most drafts. The biggest performance of Week 3 at wide receiver was by a player who wasn't even drafted in the vast majority of leagues.
And the tight ends? We just won't talk about the tight ends.
Now, some fantasy managers have benefitted from all the chaos over the season's first few weeks. They are 3-0 or 2-1 and loving every moment of madness. Then there are the teams to whom the first three weeks have not been so kind—at 1-2 or even 0-3, they badly need a win before the season gets away from them.
No matter which side of that fence you are on, every fantasy manager is looking to set the best possible matchup for Week 4. Bleacher Report is here to lend a hand with position-by-position PPR rankings, some favorable and unfavorable matchups and a look at the top 100 players overall.

Quarterbacks

If there was a theme at the quarterback position in fantasy football, it was pumpkins—fitting with it being the beginning of fall and all. A couple of Cinderella quarterbacks turned back into one, while a signal-caller who looks a bit like one went off in Sin City.
Yes, I know that Cinderella didn't turn into a pumpkin at midnight. Given how macabre many children's stories are, it's surprising she didn't just burst into flames.
Through the first two weeks of the 2024 season, the top two quarterbacks in fantasy were Baker Mayfield of the Tampa Buccaneers and Derek Carr of the New Orleans Saints...just like exactly no one predicted. But in Week 3, both veterans struggled—Mayfield failed to hit 200 passing yards for the second straight week with just one touchdown pass, while Carr managed just 142 yards and a touchdown in a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Meanwhile, we finally had a quarterback top 300 passing yards with three touchdown throws in a game, and it was Andy Dalton of the Carolina Panthers.
It's been that kind of season.
GOOD MATCHUPS
Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars [DraftKings DFS Value: $5,700]
Despite an impressive array of pass-catchers, Lawrence's fantasy production has been rather disappointing this season. But the Jaguars need this win in the worst way, and the Texans have been kind to fantasy quarterbacks—Houston's six passing touchdowns allowed so far this season tops the AFC.
Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals (vs. WAS) [DraftKings DFS Value: $6,800]
Murray cooled off considerably last week against the Lions after a massive Week 2 game against the Los Angeles Rams. But he should rebound Sunday against the Commanders, as Washington was dead last in the NFL in pass defense in 2023, and the Commanders secondary hasn't been significantly better in 2024.
BAD MATCHUPS
Anthony Richardson, Indianapolis Colts (vs. PIT) [DraftKings DFS Value: $6,300]
Richardson has struggled throwing the ball this season, with just 371 passing yards, one passing score and five interceptions over the last two games combined. Richardson's rushing upside still has appeal to fantasy managers, but this week the Colts face a Pittsburgh Steelers team that ranks dead last in fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks in 2024.
Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams (at Chicago) [DraftKings DFS Value: $5,600]
Despite a decimated receiving corps, Stafford was able to lead the Rams to a comeback win over the San Francisco 49ers in Week 3. But Stafford hasn't topped 225 passing yards in a game since Week 1, and while not much is going right in Chicago right now, the Bears' pass defense has been an exception, giving up just 165 yards per game through the air.
SLEEPER
Daniel Jones, New York Giants (vs. DAL) [DraftKings DFS Value: $5,200]
Jones is coming off his best statistical effort of the season, passing for 236 yards and a pair of touchdowns in Sunday's win over the Cleveland Browns. Rookie Malik Nabers has emerged as the No. 1 wideout Jones has lacked for so long, and Thursday a Cowboys defense that has struggled mightily of late visits Met Life Stadium.

Running Backs

The first three weeks of the 2024 fantasy football season have been just as zany as the NFL itself. But at running back at least, things really haven't strayed that far from the script.
Sure, there have been disappointments. Christian McCaffrey of the San Francisco 49ers still hasn't taken a regular-season snap this season. Josh Jacobs of the Green Bay Packers has yet to crack 15 PPR points in a game this year. Joe Mixon of the Houston Texans came roaring out of the gate, but a hip-drop tackle and high-ankle sprain in Week 2 derailed that momentum.
There have been surprises as well—McCaffrey managers lucky enough to land Jordan Mason haven't missed a beat. J.K. Dobbins of the Los Angeles Chargers cooled off in Week 3, but he's still off to a better start than anyone expected. Devin Singletary of the New York Giants has quietly been a solid RB2 for fantasy managers.
But given the chaos we have seen at other positions, seeing backs like Saquon Barkley of the Philadelphia Eagles, De'Von Achane of the Miami Dolphins and Breece Hall of the New York Jets meet expectations in the early going has been rather soothing.
Of course, there's still a long way to go. So, don't get too comfortable.
GOOD MATCHUPS
Najee Harris, Pittsburgh Steelers (at IND) [DraftKings DFS Value: $5,600]
Harris hasn't been great on a per-touch basis, but the workload has been there—at least 17 carries in all three games this season. This week, the Steelers visit an Indianapolis Colts defense that has surrendered over 200 rushing yards in two of three games. The big man finds the end zone for the first time in Week 4.
Devin Singletary, New York Giants (vs. DAL) [DraftKings DFS Value: $5,900]
Singletary tallied over 100 total yards last week for the first time this season and could have had a second touchdown had he not slid down at the one-yard line at the end of the win over the Cleveland Browns. Thursday night, he and the Giants face a Dallas Cowboys run defense allowing an NFL-high 185.7 rushing yards per game.
BAD MATCHUPS
James Cook, Buffalo Bills (at BAL) [DraftKings DFS Value: $6,900]
Cook has been solid for both the Bills and fantasy managers this season, including a three-touchdown explosion against the Miami Dolphins in Week 2. But yards on the ground won't be easy to come by Sunday night against the Baltimore Ravens—the 50 rushing yards per game the Ravens are surrendering ranks dead last in the league.
Josh Jacobs, Green Bay Packers (vs. MIN) [DraftKings DFS Value: $6,600]
Jacobs is averaging 4.5 yards per carry and over 90 rushing yards per game this season, but a lack of end-zone trips has curtailed his fantasy value. This week's NFC North showdown with the undefeated Minnesota Vikings isn't going to be an easy one—Minnesota's 71.3 rushing yards given up per game is tops in the NFC.
SLEEPER
D'Onta Foreman, Cleveland Browns (at LV) [DraftKings DFS Value: $4,300]
Foreman isn't a fantasy play for the faint of heart. After logging 14 carries two weeks ago against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Foreman carried the ball just twice in last Sunday's loss to the New York Giants. But he could see double-digit touches again in Week 4, as the Browns may lean on the rushing attack against a Raiders defense that just made Chuba Hubbard look like Walter Payton.
WEEK 4 RUNNING BACK RANKINGS
1. Saquon Barkley, PHI (at TB)
2. Alvin Kamara, NO (at ATL)
3. Bijan Robinson, ATL (vs. NO)

Wide Receivers

Youth is being served at the wide receiver position...again.
After a Week 1 clunker in his Cardinals debut, Arizona's Marvin Harrison Jr. has found the end zone in back-to-back games on the way to top-five fantasy numbers at his position.
As good as Harrison has been over the past two weeks, Malik Nabers of the New York Giants has been that much more impressive. Three weeks into his NFL career, the former LSU standout has been targeted 37 times—the most of any player in the NFL. Nabers has turned those targets into 23 receptions (tops in the NFC) for 271 yards and three scores, including a 8/78/2 line last week against the Cleveland Browns. No wide receiver in the league has more PPR points three weeks into the season.
We even had a Rome Odunze sighting in Week 3. The ninth overall pick in the 2024 draft caught six passes for 112 yards and his first professional touchdown Sunday against the Colts.
GOOD MATCHUPS
Jauan Jennings, San Francisco 49ers (vs. NE) [DraftKings DFS Value: $5,600]
Jennings had himself a day in San Francisco's Week 3 loss to the Los Angeles Rams—12 targets, 11 catches, 175 receiving yards and three touchdowns. The 27-year-old obviously isn't going to post numbers like that every week, but this week the Niners host a Patriots team that ranks inside the top 10 in PPR fantasy points allowed to wide receivers.
Rome Odunze, Chicago Bears (vs. LAR) [DraftKings DFS Value: $5,200]
Speaking of the aforementioned Odunze, it's fair to wonder what sort of numbers the former Washington star could be putting up if the quarterback play in Chicago was any better. This week, Odunze and the Bears take on a Los Angeles Rams secondary allowing more passing yards per game than any team in the NFC.
BAD MATCHUPS
Garrett Wilson, New York Jets (vs. DEN) [DraftKings DFS Value: $6,900]
Wilson has yet to have a true "breakout" game with Aaron Rodgers, although Rodgers mentioned on the Amazon Prime telecast after last week's win that he intends to work on building a rapport with the third-year pro. Fantasy managers may need to be patient at least one more week—the Broncos have been one of the stingiest pass defenses in the league this season.
Jameson Williams, Detroit Lions (at DET) [DraftKings DFS Value: $5,700]
After 10 catches for 200 yards over his first two games, Williams laid an egg last week against the Arizona Cardinals—one reception for nine yards on just three targets. A second consecutive dud week looms on the horizon—the Seahawks lead the NFC in pass defense and have surrendered the fewest PPR points in the conference to receivers three weeks into the season.
SLEEPER
Greg Dortch, Arizona Cardinals (vs. WAS) [DraftKings DFS Value: $4,200]
Dortch is no Marvin Harrison, but he has logged at least six targets in two of three games this season. This call is less about the player than the matchup—the Commanders were terrible against the pass last year and aren't especially better in 2024. A dozen PPR points from the fifth-year slot receiver isn't an unreasonable expectation in Week 3.
WEEK 4 WIDE RECEIVER RANKINGS
1. CeeDee Lamb, DAL (at NYG)
2. Justin Jefferson, MIN (at GB)
3. Ja'Marr Chase, CIN (at CAR)

Tight Ends

There's no easy way to put this—the tight end position in fantasy football is a hot mess right now.
The first tight end drafted in many leagues (Sam LaPorta of the Detroit Lions) has eight catches for 94 yards and no scores three games in. He also has a sprained ankle, leaving his Week 4 status in doubt. The No. 1 tight end in the leagues where LaPorta wasn't the top guy (Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs) has eight catches for 69 yards and is averaging just four targets per game. So is Kyle Pitts, who remains inside the top 10 because things are just that sad.
It gets worse from there.
One of my favorite value targets in 2024 at the position (Evan Engram of the Jacksonville Jaguars) has one catch for five yards for the season and has missed the last two games. George Kittle of the San Francisco 49ers and David Njoku of the Cleveland Browns were both also sidelined in Week 3.
There's not a lot that fantasy managers can really do. Try to grab a surprisingly productive option like Tyler Conklin of the Jets. Hope that injured players get healthy. That order is restored to the universe.
Ugh.
GOOD MATCHUPS
Dallas Goedert, Philadelphia Eagles (at Tampa Bay) [DraftKings DFS Value: $5,100]
Technically, this should actually be filed under "bad matchups"—the Buccaneers rank inside the bottom 10 in PPR points allowed to tight ends. But with DeVonta Smith (concussion) and A.J. Brown (hamstring) both iffy at best for Week 4, Goedert could once again be peppered with targets—he received 11 last week, catching 10 for 170 yards against the New Orleans Saints.
Kyle Pitts, Atlanta Falcons (vs. NO) [DraftKings DFS Value: $4,800]
Pitts' fantasy managers were bailed out in Week 3 by a 50-yard catch, but he hasn't caught more than three passes in a game this year. Week 4 would be a good time for the Falcons to remember that Pitts is on the roster—the Saints have struggled defending tight ends this year, allowing that huge outing to Goedert last week.
BAD MATCHUPS
Hunter Henry, New England Patriots (at SF) [DraftKings DFS Value: $4,200]
Henry is probably the closest thing the Patriots have to a dependable pass-catcher at this point in the season. But this week, the Pats face a desperate 49ers team that has one of the best coverage linebackers in the league on the roster in Fred Warner. It's not unreasonable to expect San Fran will look to remove Henry from the equation for the Pats' barely passable passing "attack."
Dalton Schultz, Houston Texans (vs. IND) [DraftKings DFS Value: $4,100]
With the new additions offensively in Houston this year, Schultz's role in the Hosuton offense has decreased, The Jaguars haven't done much right this year, but they have defended tight ends fairly well, surrendering the ninth-fewest PPR points to the position after three weeks. Schultz is at best a low-end TE1 this week--one with a low ceiling.
SLEEPER
Mike Gesicki, Cincinnati Bengals (at CAR) [DraftKings DFS Value: $3,500]
For most of his six-plus seasons in the NFL, Gesicki has shown flashes of talent (he topped 700 receiving yards twice with the Miami Dolphins) but hasn't been a consistent producer. Gesicki has been a pleasant surprise for the Bengals this season, and no team in the NFC has given up more PPR points to tight ends this year than the Panthers.
WEEK 4 TIGHT END RANKINGS
1. Sam LaPorta, DET (vs. SEA)
2. Brock Bowers, LV (vs. CLE)
3. Travis Kelce, KC (at LAC)
4. Dallas Goedert, PHI (at TB)
5. George Kittle, SF (vs. NE)
6. Mark Andrews, BAL (vs. BUF)

Kickers and Defenses

What the Tuck(er) is going on?
For years, Justin Tucker of the Baltimore Ravens has been the gold standard among NFL kickers. The 34-year-old holds the league record for field goal accuracy percentage (89.5) and the longest field goal in league history (66 yards).
From inside 50 yards? Forget it—done. Tucker kicked 55-yarders like most players at his position kicked 35-yarders. Tucker would line up from 60 and fans and pundits alike just assumed that he would make it.
But something happened. Tucker has become...human.
Last season, Tucker was just 32-of-37 (86.5 percent) and missed four of five kicks from 50 yards or farther out. After missing a 48-yarder in last week's win over the Dallas Cowboys, Tucker has already missed three kicks this season, including both attempts from 50-plus.
Tucker may well be the best kicker in NFL history, but the argument can be made that he's no longer the best in the league right now.
GOOD MATCHUPS
Blake Grupe, New Orleans Saints (at ATL)
The New Orleans offense ground to a halt last week against the Philadelphia Eagles, but Grupe remains among the league leaders in fantasy points among kickers after hitting all seven of his field goal tries this season. This week the Saints travel to face an Atlanta Falcons team allowing the most fantasy points to kickers this year—over 12 per game.
Las Vegas Raiders Defense (vs. CLE) [DraftKings DFS Value: $3,200]
It might seem odd to recommend a defense that just had 36 points dropped on it by the Carolina Panthers. But the Browns are a disaster offensively with a line that has been decimated by injuries. Deshaun Watson was sacked eight times last week, and Raiders edge-rusher Maxx Crosby should feast in Week 4.
BAD MATCHUPS
Brayden Narveson, Green Bay (vs. MIN)
Narveson heads into Week 4 tied for the most field goal attempts in the NFL with 11, having hit on eight of those attempts. But this week, he takes on a Minnesota Vikings defense that has been one of the league's biggest surprises on that side of the ball. No team has surrendered fewer fantasy points to kickers in 2024.
Minnesota Vikings Defense (at GB) [DraftKings DFS Value: $2,900]
As was already mentioned, the Vikings have shined defensively this season, holding Houston's high-octane offense to seven measly points in a Week 3 blowout. But even without Jordan Love on the field, the Packers haven't been allowing sacks or turning the ball over—Green Bay ranks outside the top-25 in fantasy points allowed to defenses this season.
SLEEPER
Los Angeles Rams Defense (at CHI) [DraftKings DFS Value: $2,800]
The Rams have been savaged by injuries on the offensive side of the ball, but the defense has shown the occasional flash. The Chicago offense showed some signs of life in last week's loss to the Indianapolis Colts, but Caleb Williams turned it over three times in that game and the Bears rank in the top-five in fantasy points surrendered to defenses.

Top 100 Players Overall/"Flex" Rankings

Before we break down the top 100 players overall for PPR leagues in Week 4 (a list that can aid with "flex" lineup decisions), it's time for the weekly caveat and friendly tip.
The caveat is the same as always—there are no quarterbacks included in this list. If your fantasy league features a "superflex" spot and you have a top-20(ish) quarterback, he should be in that spot. Even with passing numbers down, quarterbacks are still generally more consistent scorers.
The advice is this. We're at the point in the season where 0-3 and even 1-2 managers are getting antsy. They are ready to make like Wayne Brady and play Let's Make a Deal. And if you are fortunate enough to have depth at a position of need for one of those antsy managers, it puts you in an excellent position to negotiate an improvement for your team.
However, if you make a trade offer, make it a reasonable one. It doesn't have to be your best offer. In fact, your first offer shouldn't be. But nothing will shut down trade talks quicker than a ridiculously low offer.
On the other hand, if you're that manager who badly needs to plug a hole, give up the busted notion of "winning" the trade. Your primary concern isn't getting the better of the deal. It's plugging that hole and saving your season. If you have to overpay a little to do so, so be it.
