WWE SmackDown Results: Winners, Live Grades, Reaction and Highlights After Bad Blood

SmackDown.
SmackDown.

Welcome to Bleacher Report's live coverage of the post-Bad Blood edition of WWE SmackDown on October 11.

Here is a look at what WWE advertised prior to the show:

  • Roman Reigns speaks
  • Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill vs. Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson
  • LA Knight vs. Carmelo Hayes

Let's take a look at what happened on Friday's SmackDown.

LA Knight vs. Carmelo Hayes

SmackDown.
SmackDown.

SmackDown opened with Jimmy Uso coming out to give a promo following his return at Bad Blood. After running down The New Bloodline, Reigns joined his cousin in the ring. He made the crowd acknowledge Jimmy.

This was a more emotional OTC than we are used to seeing. He said he doesn't like being out of control and in this position. Jimmy implied it was time to reconcile with Jey, but Reigns didn't seem to want to.

Up next, Knight put the U.S. title on the line against Hayes. Andrade showed up at ringside to watch his rivals duke it out, but Melo found his presence distracting and ended up taking a dropkick as a result.

While it lacked the same level of excitement Melo and El Idolo had during their recent matches, Knight and Hayes worked well together to highlight each other's strengths.

The champ was able to retain with a nice counter into a BFT. El Idolo mocked Hayes at ringside to rub salt in the wound. This was a decent opener with a couple of standout spots.

Result: Knight defeated Hayes

Grade: B

Notable Moments and Observations

  • Reigns looked genuinely happy to have Jimmy back.
  • Hayes went down to bump for Knight's first punch too quickly, so it looked like Knight missed completely.
  • Knight tried to offer Andrade a handshake during the break but Hayes attacked him before he could.
  • Knight's elbow drop looked great, but he was so still flying through the air that it looked like a video game.
  • Melo's BFT counter was great.

Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair vs. Lash Legend and Jakara Jacksonke

SmackDown.
SmackDown.

Kevin Owens interrupted Jackson and Legend's entrance to complain about Cody Rhodes. Randy Orton tried to play peacemaker but he and KO ended up taking shots at each other.

After a break, Piper Niven and Chelsea Green were shown watching from ringside as the champions entered the arena.

The challengers went right after the champions and got an early advantage. Sadly this match barely had time to get out of the gate before it was over.

Cargill and Belair won to retain their titles in just a couple of minutes. The aggression and energy was there, but they could only do so much in a short time.

Result: Belair and Cargill defeated Jackson and Legend

Grade: C-

Notable Moments and Observations

  • Jackson and Legend have a great entrance. Both teams do.
  • Legend kicked Green over the announce table and Michael Cole tried to act like Green still smelled like a dumpster.

Naomi vs. Nia Jax

Nia Jax gave a promo to hype Crown Jewel, but she and Tiffany Stratton were interrupted by Naomi, who challenged Jax to a match. Liv Morgan, Dominik Mysterio and Raquel Rodriguez came out to watch.

We returned to see that the non-title match was already in progress. Jax was dominating Naomi as Tiffy cheered her on.

They battled through a second break, so they had a lot of time to make sure both women had time to get in a lot of offense.

After Raquel took Tiffy's briefcase, Morgan used it as a weapon on Jax. Naomi took advantage and powerbombed Jax from the corner to score the win.

This was a really good showcase for Naomi, but Morgan and the arrival of Rhea Ripley to attack everyone she could find overshadowed her win a bit.

Result: Naomi defeated Jax

Grade: B-

Notable Moments and Observations

  • The headlock Jax put Tiffy in looked pretty rough for a joke.
  • The way Jax crushed Naomi's head against the ring post was so deceptively good. If you look closely, you can see how Naomi avoided the impact, but the camera angle was perfect.

Solo Sikoa vs. Jimmy Uso

We saw a shot of Owens attacking Orton outside the arena before heading back to the arena for The New Bloodline's entrance.

Solo Sikoa stared at his brother as Tama Tonga, Tanga Loa and Jacob Fatu circled the ring. Jimmy took the first shot, but Sikoa quickly took control.

Solo distracted the ref so his cronies could interfere, and he talked down to his older brother about not being a "little" brother anymore.

This bout was fine, but it was more about storytelling than excitement. You could tell the crowd was having trouble finding reasons to cheer at points.

Sikoa ended up winning and The Bloodline immediately went after Jimmy. Reigns came out to make the save and wiped out everyone but Solo with Superman Punches.

The numbers game caught up to him and The OTC was taken out with a Samoan Spike.

Result: Sikoa defeated Uso

Grade: B

Notable Moments and Observations

  • Fatu is one of the best signings WWE has made in years. He's so much fun to watch.
  • Sikoa has really found his voice as a trash talker.
  • Jimmy has always had a solid superkick, but sometimes he needs to add some spice to it. It doesn't always look dangerous.

The Final Word

Friday's SmackDown was a pretty down-the-middle episode as a whole, but it had a few things worth watching.

Reigns appears to be on track to re-forming the original Bloodline, but there will be a lot of work between now and then to make it work.

As far as matches go, the women's tag title bout was embarrassingly short and failed to give Legend and Jackson enough time to show the SD audience much of anything.

The feud between Owens and Rhodes is already heating up, but we know that match won't happen until Rhodes gets past Gunther at Crown Jewel.

Hayes and Knight easily had the best performance from an in-ring standpoint, but Jimmy and Solo told a good story in the main event.
