Week 7 Fantasy Football Rankings: Top Players and Matchups for All Positions
The first six weeks of the 2024 NFL season have seen some separation between the haves and the have-nots.
That's just as true in the fantasy football realm as it is the league at large.
It's still early enough, though, for teams—particularly fantasy ones—to change their fortune. So, if you've had to weather a storm or two through the early going, just remember that a few sunny weekends might clear everything up.
To help with your Week 7 forecast, we're running through top-10 rankings and spotlighting a player with the best matchup at all of the skill positions.
Quarterback

Best matchup: Jayden Daniels vs. Carolina Panthers
The Panthers are clearly one of the worst teams in football. In fact, they're so bad that the one worry with opposing quarterbacks is that their team will be so far ahead so early that they'll ease up on the gas pedal.
Even if Daniels doesn't have to run through the finish line here, though, he should still have a field day. Carolina has tied for the second-most touchdown passes allowed (12) while surrendering the sixth-most yards per attempt (8.0) and seventh-highest completion percentage (69.5). Given Daniels' explosive running ability, it's also worth noting the Panthers have allowed the third-most rushing yards per game (153.5).

Best matchup: Jonathan Taylor vs. Miami Dolphins
Fantasy managers who roster Taylor should be collecting all of the good-luck trinkets within reach. He couldn't find a better time to return from an injury absence—an ankle injury has sidelined him the past two weeks—than against this vulnerable Dolphins defense.
Miami is one of only three defenses allowing 25-plus fantasy points to opposing running backs, per Yahoo. In five games, the Dolphins have allowed six different running backs to find the end zone, and two of them (James Cook and Zach Charbonnet) tallied multiple touchdowns.
Wide Receiver

Best matchup: Justin Jefferson vs. Detroit Lions
Jefferson remains an all-caps ELITE option at receiver. He tallied a touchdown catch in four of his first five games. In the other, he had 14 targets and 92 receiving yards. Minnesota has already had its bye week, and Jefferson still ranks fifth among receivers in fantasy points, per FantasyPros.
He has a great chance to keep this strong start going against a Lions defense that has struggled to contain opposing wideouts. The Lions have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to the position, and their secondary could be under more stress than ever with star pass-rusher Aidan Hutchinson having suffered a gruesome leg injury.
Tight End

Best matchup: George Kittle vs. Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs have allowed the most fantasy points to tight ends this season. Now, that might be a little misleading, since Kansas City mostly just let Isaiah Likely (nine receptions for 111 yards and a touchdown in Week 1) and the Bengals tight ends (Mike Gesicki and Erick All Jr. combined for 11 receptions and 123 yards in Week 2) get loose early, but players at this position have still picked apart this defense.
And, honestly, it might not matter much whom Kittle is facing at this point. He's on a four-week scoring streak, during which he has totaled 24 receptions for 243 yards and five touchdowns.
