Week 8 Waiver Wire: Top Targets For This Week's Injured Fantasy Football Stars
Week 8 Waiver Wire: Top Targets For This Week's Injured Fantasy Football Stars

The injury report entering Week 8 has notable entries, including rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels and wide receivers Zay Flowers and DK Metcalf.
Those three have been fantasy studs for fantasy managers this season and the likelihood that they may not compete in this week's slate of games has them scurrying to find replacements who can not only fill their spots but score enough points to win them their league.
Who are possible fill-ins who can be difference-makers in Week 8?
Find out with this preview.
Rashod Bateman, WR, Baltimore Ravens

With Zay Flowers officially listed as "questionable" for Sunday's game in Cleveland, it is worth grabbing fellow Baltimore Ravens wideout Rashod Bateman as an insurance policy if managers have not already.
Bateman was a top-two receiver a week ago in PPR leagues and the best wideout in all of fantasy in standard leagues.
Against Tampa Bay Monday night, he caught four passes for 121 yards and a touchdown. That is an average of 30.3 yards per reception and made him the deep threat for the Ravens offense.
Bateman could have another monster day against a Browns secondary ranked 27th in the league against opposing receivers, especially with the team giving up 36.3 fantasy points per game and eight receiving touchdowns through seven games this season.

Noah Fant, TE, Seattle Seahawks

Wide receiver DK Metcalf is listed as "doubtful" for Seattle's big match-up against the Buffalo Bills, meaning the Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith will have to turn to other targets to knock off the AFC East-leading squad.
Enter Noah Fant, who has never evolved into the top-tier tight end most expected him to upon his arrival in the league, but will have an opportunity to be a top-10 finisher in Week 8.
The Bills are ranked 17th against opposing tight ends, giving up just over 11 points per game.
With Metcalf likely out of the lineup, Smith will have to distribute the ball to a fine, if somewhat unspectacular, receiving corps. The Bills will look to take Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Tyler Lockett out of the equation, creating targets and opportunities for the Seahawks tight end to have a big day.
Fant has finished in the top 15 at his position in each of the last two weeks and could improve upon that this week. Is he an every-game starter for managers? No, but in a favorable match-up such as Sunday's, he is worth utilizing to your advantage and could possibly be the difference between a win and loss.
He is available in 70 percent of Yahoo leagues and 91 percent of ESPN leagues.
Bo Nix, QB, Denver Broncos

Don't look now, but Bo Nix is developing into one of the more intriguing young fantasy quarterbacks in the league.
The Denver Broncos starter has finished in the top 10 at his position in two of the last three weeks and has hurled four touchdowns to just one interception during that time.
He will have an opportunity to improve upon those numbers Sunday against a plain bad Carolina Panthers defense that is ranked 29th in the league and giving up 18.62 points to opposing quarterbacks.
It is a favorable match-up for a rookie quarterback who often looked out of his depth and overwhelmed early on but has settled in nicely for the 4-3 Broncos.
Look for the former Oregon Duck to exploit a leaky Panthers defense, both through the air and with his feet. Nix has 145 yards rushing and a touchdown in that same three-game span. The Panthers have allowed 164 yards on the ground to opposing quarterbacks.
Do not be surprised if Nix is an elite fantasy QB in Week 8. If you have Jayden Daniels on your roster and are worried about his rib injury keeping him out of Sunday's game, or grabbed Derek Carr earlier this season when he looked like a world-beater and are looking for solutions amid his injury struggles, give Nix a chance.
He can be had in 78 percent of Yahoo and 65 percent of ESPN leagues.
