NFL Trade Rumors: Updated Predictions for Myles Garrett, Diontae Johnson and More

Myles Garrett may be the best defensive player in the NFL, but could he be on his way out of Cleveland?
Given the current state of the 2-6 Browns, it's a question that will ring loud as the trade deadline approaches on November 5 and a topic that headlines this collection of insider reports and rumors.
Who joins Garrett as players whose names have come up in calls between their current and interested teams and what might the outcome be?
The answers might surprise you.
Myles Garrett

Myles Garrett is an elite pass-rusher in the NFL and, with the Cleveland Browns suffering through another dismal season, it only made sense that teams would call about his potential availability ahead of the trade deadline.
According to Ian Rappoport of NFL.com, those teams were told "No."
It is not difficult to see why. Garrett is one of the best players of his generation and a game-changer at defensive end. He is the heart and soul of a Browns organization that has not always had a ton of either of those things.
Through the first eight games of the season, the five-time Pro Bowler has 17 solo tackles, one assist and four sacks.
Getting rid of Garrett would not only be conceding to a lost season midway through the campaign, but it would also do long-term damage to a franchise that is already viewed by many to be among the worst in the league, especially if there is no guarantee of a massive haul in return.
With Jameis Winston providing a spark in their 29-24 victory over divisional rival Baltimore, expect the Browns to stand by their assertion that Garrett is not available and try to make a second-half run at a playoff spot.
Prediction: Garrett stays in Cleveland
Diontae Johnson (and Adam Thielen)

Diontae Johnson is having a solid season with the Carolina Panthers, despite what Denver head coach Sean Payton referred to as "not a good offense."
The former Pittsburgh Steeler has 30 receptions, 357 yards, and three touchdowns through the season's first eight weeks.
The best receiver on a bad team going nowhere fast, Rapoport labeled the 28-year-old a "logical trade target" and reported "Carolina has gotten calls, although it won't just give away one of its best players."
The team is also listening to calls for its other starting receiver, Adam Thielen.
One would be hard pressed to imagine the Panthers giving up their best playmaker in Johnson. Whether Andy Dalton or Bryce Young, the quarterback needs someone to throw to and the veteran speedster is that guy.
Even 34-year-old Thielen is coming off a 103-catch, 1,014-yard season and can still benefit the team.
If the Panthers are actively shopping either player, it will likely be able to offload Thielen easier, which may be a blessing in disguise for a receiver who was one of the league's low-key best during his time with Minnesota.
Prediction: Carolina trades Thielen, while Johnson remains with the Panthers
Tre'Davious White

Slowed by age and injuries, and playing more than expected early on for an injury-ridden squad, Tre'Davious White's time in Los Angeles has not been quite what he or the team expected.
The veteran cornerback, one of the game's best in his prime, was a liability for the Rams defense through the first half of the season and has been inactive for the last two weeks as head coach Sean McVay opted to start Darious Williams instead.
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler (h/t Sarah Barshop of the same company) reported that the Rams are willing to move White to a cornerback-needy team if the opportunity presents itself. They are also willing to hold onto him "knowing things can change over a long season."
White has nine solo tackles and two passes defensed through four games with the team this season. They are near-identical numbers to the four games he played in Buffalo a season ago.
There is a chance a contending team could scoop up White and add depth at the cornerback position, but considering the Rams' rash of injuries thus far and a cornerback room that needs all the help it can get, he is better served staying with the NFC West squad and hoping opportunities, and a potential playoff push, await.
Given what teams have seen on film out of him this season, that is also the most realistic option for the respected veteran.
Prediction: White remains with the Rams through season's end
