The Favorites

Dodgers +400
This is self-explanatory. L.A. paced everyone in wins (98) and run differential (plus-156) this season. And while there were some tense moments in the earlier rounds, the Dodgers just knocked off a loaded, 94-win Yankees team in only five games.
Essentially all of the club's most key contributors are back, and this rotation could be extra sharp with Shohei Ohtani set to resume pitching and Yoshinobu Yamamoto having a big-league season under his belt. The Dodgers could add some supplemental pieces this offseason, too, with middle infielders, corner outfielders and setup relievers all being potential points of focus.
Yankees +700
It's tempting to paint this offseason as "Juan Soto or Bust," since New York presumably had more than one season in mind when it made an aggressive move for Soto last December. And in a perfectly pinstriped world, the Yankees would get the slugger's signature on some colossal contract that keeps him in the Big Apple (and next to Aaron Judge) for years to come.
Should Soto chase an astronomic payday elsewhere, though, the Yankees will have contingency plans in place. Their roster will still be rich with talent, and they'll have the ability to add several notable names to it if they wind up not spending $500 million-plus on Soto.
Braves +750
Injuries chopped down the Braves this season, but they've been a juggernaut in recent seasons when health is on their side. They were World Series champs in 2021, and while they've yet to recreate that postseason success, their 2022 and 2023 campaigns yielded a combined 205 victories.
Atlanta had injuries up and down the roster, but give this group a clean bill of health—and smooth recoveries for Ronald Acuña Jr. (ACL) and Spencer Strider (elbow surgery)—and it should be among baseball's very best again.
The Sleepers

Padres +1500
Joe Musgrove's Tommy John surgery dimmed San Diego's 2025 outlook a bit, but this club could still be a force. Few teams showed more down the stretch, as the Padres were absurd in the second half (43-20 with a plus-79 run differential) and held a 2-1 lead over the Dodgers in the NLDS before their bats went silent.
Rangers +2800
The Rangers were World Series champions in 2023, and while they disappointed nearly across the board this season, they'll be overloaded with realistic bounce-back (Corey Seager, Marcus Semien, Adolis García) and breakout (Wyatt Langford, Evan Carter) candidates for the next. The rotation needs reinforcements, but it could be in better shape than it appears if Jacob deGrom hits the ground sprinting in his first full season after Tommy John surgery.
Mariners +2800
Seattle missed the playoffs each of the last two seasons, but this pitching staff nearly nudged this group into the big dance despite a dreadful showing from this offense. This team can't be this imbalanced again, but it won't be if Julio Rodríguez and Randy Arozarena rebound from down seasons and the front office finds offense without sacrificing its pitchers.
