AEW Collision Maximum Carnage Results: Winners, Live Grades, Reaction and Highlights

Welcome to Bleacher Report's live coverage of AEW Collision on January 18.
Here's a look at what AEW advertised for Saturday's show:
- Death Riders and Learning Tree vs. Outrunners, Powerhouse Hobbs and Rated FTR
- Adam Page vs. Christopher Daniels
- Undisputed Kingdom vs. Shane Taylor Promotions
- Julia Hart vs. Harley Cameron
- Kazuchika Okada vs. Tomohiro Ishii
Let's take a look at everything that happened on this week's Collision.
Adam Page vs Christopher Daniels

Collision opened with the Texas Death Match between Daniels and Page. The Fallen Angel looked determined and told Hangman it didn't have to be like this. Page slapped him before backing him to the corner for a few punches.
Daniels was busted open a few minutes into the match as Page began bringing weapons like chairs and barbed wire into the fight.
The first half of this match had a slow and methodical pace. Page was trying to be as brutal as possible and Daniels sold it all like a pro while bleeding profusely from his head.
Both men were covered in blood before long. Daniels hit a big urinagi through a barbed wire table, but it only stalled Hangman for a few moments.
The Fallen Angel got in a lot more offense during the second half, but not enough to feel like he was a real threat to an enraged millennial cowboy.
Daniels hit two Best Moonsaults Ever, including one with a barbed wire table on top of Page, but Hangman beat the 10-count to his feet and looked angrier than ever.
Page hit a Buckshot Lariat to the back od Daniels' neck to keep him down for the 10-count and win the match. After it was over, Page hit Daniels' own Angel Wings finisher to pour salt in the wound.
While this bout was not a five-star clinic or a massive spot fest, it was an entertaining performance that told a story. Page continues down his dark path and Daniels looked like a tough competitor in defeat.
Result: Page defeated Daniels
Grade: B+
Notable Moments and Observations
- There is a very good chance this is actually going to be Daniels' last match.
- Page hit a powerbomb through two chairs during the break. That is the kind of spot they should plan for when the show is back on the air. It's big and risky, so it feels wasted on the smaller picture-in-picture screen.
- The table spot was great.
- Daniels still hits a beautiful moonsault.
Undisputed Kingdom vs. Shane Taylor Promotions

Toni Storm gave an interview with Tony Schiavone and continued her amnesia gimmick. She said she would introduce herself to Mariah May next week.
Next up was a trios match with Adam Cole, Kyle O'Reilly and Roderick Strong taking on Lee Moriarty, Carlie Bravo and Shawn Dean.
With these six men involved, it goes without saying that this was a fast-paced match with a variety of styles on display.
STP took control right before the show cut to a break. We returned to see Cole back in the driver's seat against Dean.
The Undisputed Kingdom scored the win, but Taylor took out all three men as soon as the match was over. Daniel Garcia showed up and started fighting with Taylor to protect Matt Menard. Garcia and UK teamed up to take him out.
The match we got was a fun sprint with a predictable finish, but the post-match brawl was interesting. Garcia vs. Taylor in a TNT title feud could be highly enjoyable.
Result: Undisputed Kingdom defeated Shane Taylor Promotions
Grade: B
Notable Moments and Observations
- Moriarty's ankle pick to start the match was so smooth.
- Bravo and Dean have quietly been one of AEW's most consistent tag teams. They are always fun to watch.
- Daddy Magic is ridiculously funny sometimes.
Brian Cage and Lance Archer vs. Top Flight

Brian Cage and Lance Archer took on Dante and Darius Martin in tag team action this week. As soon as it started, the powerhouses took control.
It took a few minutes for the high-flyers to make a comeback, but once they did, Dante hit a series of quick moves to put Archer off balance.
Unfortunately, the comeback was too little, too late. Archer and Cage regained the upper hand and scored the win in relatively quick fashion. This wasn't a squash, but it was close.
Action Andretti and Lio Rush ended up coming out to attack Top Flight to add insult to injury.
Result: Cage and Archer defeated Top Flight
Grade: C+
Notable Moments and Observations
- It's almost unfair how easy it looks for Dante to do a springboard.
- Andretti and Rush's coats are ridiculous. They must be a pain to put in a suitcase.
Kazuchika Okada vs. Tomohiro Ishii

Max Caster came out with a duffel bag in his hand and talked about the issues and rumors regarding The Acclaimed. Anthony Bowens joined him and Caster said Bowens need to just admit Caster is the best wrestler alive. Bowens ripped into him for needing to clean up his messes.
Billy Gunn came out to try to talk some sense into them, but Caster insulted him and told Bowens he had to choose between him and Gunn. Bowens chose Gunn with no hesitation and Caster said they were through. The segment ended with no violence but the crowd was ecstatic to see Bowens finally be free of Caster.
Up next was the Continental Championship match between Okada and Ishii. These two have been in the ring together as partners and opponents well over 300 times, so they knew each other as well as they knew themselves.
Okada was slow to lock up and tried to play mind games, but Ishii was more interested in punching him in the face, so that is exactly what he did.
This wasn't a pretty match, but it was hard-hitting and had some great exchanges. Ishii had a bad knee and appeared to hurt the ankle on his other leg, but he kept fighting.
Okada picked up the win with a Rainmaker Clothesline to retain his title. This was a solid performance but may fall short of the expectations of some fans.
Result: Okada defeated Ishii
Grade: B
Notable Moments and Observations
- Daddy Magic and Garcia agreed to bring in Angelo Parker for a trios bout against Undisputed Kingdom.
- Caster had a trademark certificate for Best Wrestler Alive.
- Schiavone did a good job giving a rundown of the history between Okada and Ishii.
- Okada has such a nice dropkick.
Dustin Rhodes Squash, Julia Hart vs. Harley Cameron

Dustin Rhodes was out next to take on Adam Priest, a local talent who has appeared several times in AEW.
While not the squashiest, this was definitely a squash match. Rhodes allowed Priest to get in a little bit of offense before inevitably beating him in a shot match.
Result: Rhodes defeated Priest
Grade: Incomplete
the next match saw Hart take on Cameron, who was still marked from the mist Hart blew in her eye during Dynamite.
Cameron was aggressive right out of the gate, but Hart took control as the show went to commercial. We returned to see Hart still in control but growing frustrated that she couldn't put her opponent away.
She eventually scored the win with her Hartless submission. This wasn't much, but it wasn't bad either. Hart is gaining momentum but it's going to be interesting to see if Cameron ever joins her or the mist fades from her face like it did with Willow.
Result: Hart defeated Cameron
Grade: C
Notable Moments and Observations
- Rhodes is so generous. He could have worked this as a total squash but allowed Priest to get in some offense.
- This is the most serious Cameron has ever appeared.
- Check out our interview with Julia Hart from his week.
Death Riders and Learning Tree vs. Hobbs, Rated FTR and Outrunners

Chris Jericho, Big Bill and Bryan Keith teamed up with Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta to take on Cope, Dax Harwood, Cash Wheeler, Truth Magnum, Turbo Floyd and Powerhouse Hobbs.
However, Jericho was shown having attacked Hobbs with a bat backstage, so this started as a six-on-five handicap match.
With this many people involved, there are only two ways it can go. Everyone can take turns going one at a time, or everyone can brawl all over the place. The first several minutes were the former. The heels had control most of the time, but it wasn't a one-sided fight.
Pac eventually showed up and interfered as all hell began to break loose. The Death Riders put a bag over Cope's head and tried to carry him away before FTR stopped them.
Hobbs' music hit and he limped his way to the ring looking for a tag. Floyd tagged him in and he started taking down everyone he could get his hands on. He ended up winning for his team with a huge spinebuster to Keith.
This was a lot of mayhem, so if you like that kind of thing, you will enjoy this. If you like matches with clean finishes and action that is easy to follow, this isn't for you.
Result: Rated FTR, Hobbs and Outrunners defeated Death Riders and Learning Tree
Grade: B-
Notable Moments and Observations
- There was a lot of uproar on social media over this match not making sense.
- Jericho gave a promo earlier in the night to try to justify this match, but it didn't do much.
- Big Bill is obviously a powerhouse, but sometimes the way he lifts another grown man almost looks too easy.
The Final Word
A lot of what happened on this week's show was designed to set up more things down the line, but that means this show had some filler to it.
None of the matches we saw on Saturday stood out as exceptional, but nothing stood out as bad either. It was a decent two hours of pro wrestling, but there were definitely highs and lows.
The bout that stood out the most was Daniels vs. Page for its level of violence and for potentially being The Fallen Angel's last match.
Once again, the women's division was only given one match and a couple of short segments, so it felt like we saw very little progress there.
If you want to see a show filled with memorable moments, you can skip this one. If you want to fill two hours with some entertainment, this episode will do the trick.
