Fabrice Muamba: Support in Pictures

Bolton's 23-year-old midfielder Fabrice Muamba remains critically ill in intensive care; however, his heart condition has stabilized. 

In the aftermath of the incident, support poured in for the Trotters midfielder from all over the world—from players, coaches, associations and fans. 

Here are some pictures obtained that show the overwhelming support provided for Muamba and his family. 

In the 41st minute, Fabrice Muamba fell to the ground. Immediately, paramedics used mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and a defibrillator to revive him. 

The photo displays a visibly shaken Jermain Defoe after the incident. 

Defoe tweeted: "Pray for fab god willing he will pull through."

He and his mom Sandra later went to the London Chest Hospital to visit the stricken Muamba. 

In a statement released on behalf of Muamba's family, Bolton's manager Owen Coyle said:

Fabrice's family have asked me to pass on their thanks for the many, many kind messages of support from not only Bolton fans but also fans from clubs across the country and abroad. All our thoughts and prayers are for, Fabrice and his family at this time.

The above picture showcases flowers and signed shirts left for Muamba at the Reebok Stadium. 

During Chelsea's FA Cup tie with Leicester, former Bolton defender Gary Cahill celebrated his lone goal by displaying a shirt that read "Pray 4 Muamba."

Luis Suarez posted on his Facebook page: "I want to dedicate to Muamba the goal and the FA Cup semifinals qualification. Keep fighting buddy, don't give up! You will make it!!"

Liverpool fans also displayed their support for Muamba during the club's FA Cup tie against Stoke City. 

Manchester United fans left this heart-touching letter at the Reebok. 

The Italian and Juventus star Andrea Pirlo dedicated his team's win over Fiorentina to Muamba. 

He stated: "We wanted to dedicate our goals to Bolton's player Fabrice Muamba, who is fighting for his life. We are all close to him and hopefully he will recover soon."

In their match against Malaga, Real Madrid showed their support for both Fabrice Muamba and Barcelona's Eric Abidal, who is recovering from a liver tumor. 

Ronaldo, Xabi Alonso, Lassana Diarra and Sami Khedira donned the "Get Well Soon Muamba" jerseys.
