Score Fighting Series: 5 Reasons to Watch SFS 7

The Score Fighting Series presents its seventh show in Ontario this Friday night and will feature up-and-coming Canadian welterweight Jordan Mein making his return to SFS against Forrest Petz.

The event is the Score's fourth fight card from the Hamilton Place Theatre in Hamilton, Ontario, and it's stacked with elite-level, local talent from top to bottom. The Score has quickly become the "go to" show in Ontario and has delivered high-quality mixed martial arts every single time out.

This one will be no different. Here are five reasons to tune in to the show this Friday night.

Tristan Johnson vs. Will Romero II: Bad Blood Brewing in This Rematch

These two young and hungry featherweights fought at SFS 1 in June of last year, and the bad blood has been brewing since. Johnson got the decision in a very close fight, but Romero and his camp insist that justice was not done.

A rematch has been talked about from the second the decision was announced, and now we'll have it on Friday night. Johnson is coming off a tough loss to Rick Glenn in his only fight this year, while Romero is on a three-fight winning streak since his loss to Johnson, including a win over Matt Veal in Bellator.

This one has war written all over it.

Future Bellator and UFC Fighters in the Making

The Score Fighting Series has established itself as a great learning and proving ground for young fighters to propel themselves into the consciousness of MMA fans across North America.

The list of fighters who have fought on Score Fighting and have gone on to fight in Bellator or the UFC is full and includes the likes of Daron Cruickshank, Chris Clements, Antonio Carvalho, John Alessio, Will Romero, Chris Horodecki, Jesse Gross and Elias Theodorou.

Watch these fighters sharpen their skills as they fight to get to the big leagues.

Forrest Petz Headlining

Veteran and former UFC fighter Forrest Petz will be headlining the card, looking to put a halt to the rise of Canadian Jordan "Young Gun" Mein.

The last time Petz fought on SFS, he put on an absolute war against Sergei Juskevic in what would be my choice as a clear-cut contender for fight of the year in 2012. Petz and Juskevic battered each other mercilessly, and Petz was on the brink of being knocked out until he turned the tide and ended up stopping Juskevic.

It's the type of fight you are gonna get when Petz steps in the cage, and Friday night should be no different.

Jesse Ronson Looks to Extend Winning Streak to 7

Top Canadian lightweight Jesse Ronson looks to extend his winning streak to seven when he takes a step up to face veteran Ryan Healy.

Ronson has looked extremely impressive on this current streak, with dominant victories over Tony Hervey, Brad Causey, Eric St-Pierre and Alex Ricci along the way. Ronson possesses some of the best technical striking in the game, and they don't call him "The Body Snatcher" for nothing.

The UFC wisely has their eyes on Ronson, and another dominant victory over Healy could pave his way to the big show.

Jordan Mein: Next Stop UFC

After being in Strikeforce limbo, top Canadian welterweight Jordan Mein is back in The Score Fighting Series this Friday night taking on tough veteran Forrest Petz.

Mein, who is widely considered the best Canadian fighter outside the UFC, will be looking to make a statement against Petz. The youngster can simply do it all in the cage with his pinpoint efficiency, and a dominant win here may force the hand of UFC management.

Don't miss this future star in action.
