County Championship Team of the Week: Ben Stokes, Ashwell Prince, Aaron Finch
There was a lack of what Ashley Giles would call "bum-nipping" finishes in the latest round of County Championship matches. Despite the dearth of final afternoon action, there was much to admire in this week's fixtures.
Runs and wickets from our chosen XI helped their teams consolidate title challenges, battle relegation and push for promotion.
Standout performers included England all-rounder Ben Stokes, who produced career-best figures with the ball, and South African veteran Ashwell Prince, who did the same with the bat.

1. Phil Jaques (Nottinghamshire)
Somerset's bowlers must be sick of the sight of Phil Jaques. The Nottinghamshire opener scored 65 and 150* when the sides met in Taunton, and he followed it up with 113 and 42* at Trent Bridge this week.
The Australian has 738 Championship runs at an average of 46.12 this season.
2. Jacques Rudolph (Glamorgan)
After a century against Kent last week, Jacques Rudolph repeated the trick against Gloucestershire.
The South African opener scored 139 as Glamorgan amassed a mammoth total of 615-7d, only the fifth time that the county has passed 600 in a Championship match.
Despite Rudolph's heroics, the Welshmen were forced to settle for a draw on a flat Bristol pitch.
3. Zafar Ansari (Surrey)
The Surrey opener may not have contributed much with the bat in his latest outing, but he more than made up for it with the ball.
The 22-year-old picked up 5-93 from 36 overs in Leicestershire's second innings at the Oval as the home side cruised to a 10-wicket victory.
4. Ashwell Prince (Lancashire)
Prior to Lancashire's latest match against Northamptonshire, Ashwell Prince had passed 50 just once in his previous 14 first-class innings.
The 37-year-old made up for lost time at Old Trafford, racking up a career-best 257 to help the home side to a much-needed win over their relegation-threatened rivals.

5. Aaron Finch (Yorkshire)
The big-hitting Aussie showed that he's more than just a T20 biffer by scoring an accomplished century against an impressive Warwickshire attack that included four Test players.
The 27-year-old's 110 from 146 balls against Edgbaston was the Australian's third first-class century.
If he maintains his excellent form, it will be a huge boost to Yorkshire's County Championship challenge.
6. Ben Stokes (Durham)
With England's seamers putting on a woeful show in the second innings of the Headingley Test against Sri Lanka, Ben Stokes gave the selectors a very timely reminder of his talents with the ball.
The Durham all-rounder followed up his career-best performance of 7-67 in the first innings against Sussex by adding a further three wickets in the second.
Durham fans should enjoy Stokes while they can as an England recall seems a certainty.
7. Gary Wilson (Surrey)
Taking the wicket-keeping gloves and the captaincy reins can be an onerous double act.
Surrey's Gary Wilson appears to thriving on his new dual role at the Oval following injury to skipper Graeme Smith and Steven Davies' decision to concentrate solely on his batting.
The Irishman scored an unbeaten 160 against Leicestershire and shared a record-breaking eighth-wicket stand of 192 with Chris Tremlett as the home side turned a shaky 243-7 into a decisive 522-9d.
8. Darren Stevens (Kent)
With 45 runs in the first innings followed by nine wickets with the ball, Darren Stephens was a major contributor in Kent's 10-wicket win over Derbyshire.
The 38-year-old is Kent's second leading wicket-taker this season with 28. He's contributed with the bat, too, scoring 475 runs at an average of 36.53.
His experience will be crucial if Rob Key's side are to mount a late promotion challenge.
9. Glen Chapple (Lancashire)
The Lancashire captain/coach turned back the clock with a vintage display of seam bowling against Northamptonshire.
Lancashire plundered a huge 650/6d, but it was a different story when the visitors batted as Chapple ripped through the top order and ended up with figures of 5-51.
The 40-year-old is undoubtedly the best player of recent years who failed to win a Test cap.
10. Adam Riley (Kent)
Adam Riley did his chances of a Test call no harm at all with another impressive performance for Kent.
The 21-year-old off-spinner had match figures of 7-128 as the home side cruised to a 10-wicket win over Derbyshire at Canterbury.
Riley has taken 31 Championship wickets at an average of 26.64 this season and will be knocking on the international door if the selectors feel that Moeen Ali isn't the answer to England's spin woes.
11. Jack Brooks (Yorkshire)
Jack Brooks has been Mr Consistency for Yorkshire this season. The man in the headband delivered once again against Warwickshire, picking up another five wickets to take his total to 42 for the season.
The 30-year-old also claimed his 200th career scalp with the dismissal of Keith Barker.
Even without Liam Plunkett, the Yorkshire attack looks one of the best in the country at present.
