Liga MX: Winners and Losers from Matchday 15

The 2015 Clausura tournament is about to end, and after Matchday 15, the general table is tighter than ever.

Fourteen clubs fighting for one of the eight places available in the Liguilla with two weeks left until the end of the season is clear evidence to support this.

Among those teams are Guadalajara and America, who faced each other in the Super Clasico on Sunday.

There's also Cruz Azul, who fell outside the qualification zone for the first time in this year's tournament after a dreadful defeat to Jaguares.

Tijuana are still struggling to find the momentum they had in the first half of the 2015 Clausura.

Let's take a look at the winners and losers from Matchday 15.

Losers: Puebla

Things are getting worse by the minute for Puebla.

La Franja recorded their fifth defeat in the past seven games in Matchday 15 and are closer than ever to the Ascenso MX.

Coach Jose Cruz might have been a success in the Copa MX, which his side won last week, but he is yet to make an impact in the Liga MX.

If Leones Negros win once in the last couple of games, they will basically secure their spot in the first division.

Winners: Tigres UANL

Tigres are unstoppable in the Liga MX, and in Week 15, they proved they are going through a great moment.

UANL secured a 3-1 win over Queretaro and sit third in the general table. It was Tigres' second successive victory and their eighth of the 2015 Clausura.

This was a great result for Ricardo Ferretti's side, especially since they are headed to the round of 16 of the Copa Libertadores on April 28.

Loser: Roque Santa Cruz

Roque Santa Cruz arrived in Cruz Azul as Mariano Pavone's replacement for the 2015 Clausura.

Although the Paraguayan was expected to become one of the best transfers of the tournament, he has failed to amaze so far.

He missed six weeks due to an injury and has only put the ball away three times in eight appearances. His latest flunk came in Matchday 15, as he missed a key penalty kick in La Maquina's 0-1 defeat to Chiapas.

Santa Cruz needs to step up soon because his team are no longer in the Liguilla qualification zone.

Winner: Paul Aguilar

Paul Aguilar can be sure that he will always be remembered in Super Clasico history.

The America defender put the ball away in style against Guadalajara. He shot from outside box to defeat Luis Michel and grab Las Aguilas' sole goal.

It was the first time Aguilar netted this season, and despite his superb contribution, the match came to an end with a one-goal draw.

Losers: Tijuana

Tijuana are still trying to find their way back to the winners' circle.

Xolos lost 2-0 to Toluca at the Estadio Nemesio Diez, which was also their fourth defeat in the past five games.

Before this winless streak, Tijuana had only lost in Matchday 1 against Puebla.

Although they are still inside the Liguilla qualification zone, they could easily lose their chance to advance to the playoffs if they keep playing like they have in the past month.
