Women's Wrestling Saves WrestleMania

WrestleMania 41 would have been an entirely different show without the women's division's contributions to the card.
On a weekend when several men's matches underwhelmed or disappointed, it was the efforts of the women's division that brought consistency to the event and provided it with, arguably, its best match.
Rhea Ripley, Bianca Belair, and Iyo Sky could, and arguably should, have been one of the weekend's two main events and they wasted little time Sunday demonstrating why. A legitimate Match of the Year candidate, won by The Genius of the Sky, it was a match that will discussed and documented in "Best of WrestleMania" lists for eternity.
But that Women's World Championship Triple Threat Match was not the only match that shined at this year's show.
Tiffany Stratton answered any and all questions about her ability to shine on the grand stage with a grueling match against Charlotte Flair in which she was beaten and bruised but never wavered in her determination to prove her worth.
Jade Cargill and Naomi heard all of the questions about whether they could deliver and answered with a match that far exceeded expectations and reminded fans and critics alike of the raw athleticism of the former and just how underrated and undervalued Naomi has long been.
Even the Women's Tag Team Championship match grabbed the attention of fans, thanks in part to the return of Becky Lynch and the title change that ensued as she and Lyra Valkyria defeated Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan.
Four matches involving talent of varying backgrounds, styles, and types. Each one helping to solidify the overall quality of the show. All stuck on the undercard.
If there was one WrestleMania that served as evidence that the women's divisions on Raw and SmackDown can and should be greater focal points of the current creative regime, it was this year's event, where the women's Superstars on the WWE roster showed up, showed out, and ensured the second Showcase of the Immortals under Triple H and Co. was not considered a flop.
