Ranking WWE WrestleMania's Biggest Surprises from 2025 Results

WWE's most prestigious event is as synonymous with surprises and viral moments as it is unforgettable matches and monumental victories.
At WrestleMania 41, the company provided several of the former, including unforgettable returns and a storyline twist that left fans and analysts buzzing.
In the wake of the 2025 Showcase of the Immortals, these are the rankings for the show's biggest surprises.
4. Dirty Dom: Man of the People

Dominik Mysterio won the Intercontinental Championship Sunday night at WrestleMania but it is not the title nor the victory that is so surprising but, rather, the reaction for it that earns the second-generation star this spot.
The long-hated heel, often drowned out by fans during his promos, was universally embraced with one of the loudest ovations of the weekend. The fans in Las Vegas erupted as he came off the top rope with a frog splash and pinned Finn Bálor to win the Intercontinental Championship, his first main roster singles title.
Those cheers grew louder when ran back into the ring to pose atop the ropes and celebrate his win as if it was the first of his career.
The very same fans who booed him mercilessly, barely allowing him to speak his mind as he addressed "deadbeat dad" Rey or former love interest, Rhea Ripley, had now shown respect for all of his hard work and career growth that had gotten him to that point.
A second generation star, he had earned the right to raise the title and stand on the grand stage, a champion, and the crowd's reaction reflected as much.
It was a great moment for one of the best characters and most effective performers in the company.
3. Say His Name and He Appears

The open challenge that Randy Orton issued to the wrestling world intrigued fans and left them guessing who might step up to battle The Viper. Would it be the returning Rusev or Aleister Black? Maybe it was a Superstar without a match, like Sami Zayn, Sheamus, or Karrion Kross.
Fans got their answer when TNA world champion Joe Hendry emerged from the back, drawing an enormous ovation from fans in Las Vegas as he took to the squared circle for his date with destiny.
The ensuing match would last a grand total of three minutes but it was never meant to be a classic. Instead, it was a viral moment that sparked social media discussion and video clicks.
Still, the utter surprise of another promotion's world champion stepping up to the plate against a third-generation, future Hall of Famer was undeniable. Even if the outcome was not.
2. The Man Comes Back Around

Becky Lynch returned Sunday night, partnering with Lyra Valkyria to defeat Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez for the Women's Tag Team Championship. The return elicited an enormous pop from fans overjoyed to see The Man back in her element, on the WrestleMania stage, and winning gold.
One of the biggest stars on the roster, regardless of gender or division, she was greeted with a reaction the likes of which are typically reserved for Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, and the highest profile performers.
It was a genuine surprise to those who had not recognized Lynch as a potential fill-in for Bayley, despite her appearing out in the open at the Hall of Fame ceremony 48 hours earlier and the fans inside Allegiant Stadium reacted accordingly.
1. Seth Rollins' Deal with the Devil

The closing moments of WrestleMania Saturday saw Seth Rollins defeat Roman Reigns and CM Punk in a Triple Threat Match, thanks to two shocking betrayals by "The Wise Man" Paul Heyman.
The moment put an exclamation point on the first night of action at the Showcase of the Immortals and gave fans something to buzz about in the wake of the show-closing match-up.
The Visionary and Heyman make up a one-two punch that threatens to be a top act across WWE, not just the Raw brand.
Could their alliance be part of an overarching storyline involving The Rock and John Cena?
Possibly, but even if it is not, the union creates a scenario in which Rollins can return to the top of WWE and compete for the World Heavyweight Championship that he only lost due to a knee injury and diverted focus at WrestleMania 40.
