The Pac-10 is well represented in the 2010-11 John R. Wooden Award Preseason Top 50, which was announced Oct. 4 by the Los Angeles Athletic Club.
The list consists of student-athletes who, based on last year’s individual performance and team records, are the early leaders for college basketball’s most respected honor.
Keep an eye on the following six Pac-10 players.
Derrick Williams 6'8" So. F Arizona

2009-10 Freshman All-American, First Team; Pac-10 Freshman of the Year; U of A's leader in scoring (15.7 ppg), rebounding (7.1 rpg) and field goal percentage (.574).
Nikola Vucevic 6'10" Jr. F USC

2009-10 Pac-10 Most Improved Player; led league in rebounding (9.4 rpg); USC’s second leading scorer (10.7 ppg); played for the Montenegro national team during the summer.
Klay Thompson 6'6" Jr. G Washington State

2009-10 All-Pac-10 First Team; second in Pac-10 scoring (19.6 ppg); twice named Pacific-10 Player of the Week.
Isaiah Thomas 5'9" Jr. G Washington

2009-10 First Team All-Pac-10 and 2010 Pac-10 Tournament Most Outstanding Player; led Huskies in assists (3.2 apg) and second in scoring (16.9 ppg).
Tyler Honeycutt 6'8" So. F UCLA

Freshman campaign started slowly due to a spinal stress fracture followed by a stress reaction in his right tibia; still led Bruins in rebounding (6.5 rpg).

2009-10 All-Pac-10, First Team; Pac-10 Player of the Week two times; sixth in ASU history in three-point FGs (199); second on Sun Devils in 2009-2010 in points (12.0 ppg) and rebounds (4.4 rpg).
