NCAA Bracket 2011 Predictions: Deadliest Bracket Busters

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - MARCH 12: Talor Battle #12 of the Penn State Nittany Lions reacts to a play against the Michigan State Spartans during the semifinals of the 2011 Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament at Conseco Fieldhouse on March 12, 2011 in Indianapol

Every year there is always that one team that nobody expects to win and gets little-to-no respect.

In the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, there are countless teams like these. Every year one of those teams steps up and shocks the basketball world, effectively busting a fair amount of brackets.

Northern Iowa busted many by beating Kansas last year. This year's bracket has some of the weakest teams, which means anybody can bust the brackets this year.

East Region: Georgia

ATLANTA, GA - MARCH 11: Trey Thompkins #33 of the Georgia Bulldogs celebrates after hitting a 3 point shot against the Alabama Crimson Tide during the quarterfinals of the SEC Men's Basketball Tournament at Georgia Dome on March 11, 2011 in Atlanta, Geor

Yes Xavier is playing well, and Washington just won the Pac-10 on a buzzer-beater, but if you want a bracket buster, the Dawgs are the ones to go with.

Georgia has not had a single bad loss this season, with their only losses being to tournament teams besides Alabama. Georgia has beaten teams such as Kentucky, Tennessee and UAB.

Georgia has also taken No. 2 seeds Florida and Notre Dame to double overtime. Both the Gators and Irish needed fantastic shooting and a Georgia meltdown to even get to the extra session. Florida sent it to 2OT on a miracle three-pointer, and Georgia was up by 12 on Notre Dame at the half.

If the Dawgs can put it together, they can beat anyone, and if they play a full game, there will be brackets busted.

West Region: Penn State

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - MARCH 12: Andrew Jones #22 of the Penn State Nittany Lions celebrates after Penn State won 61-48 against the Michigan State Spartans during the semifinals of the 2011 Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament at Conseco Fieldhouse on March 1

Penn State grabbed a No. 10 seed with just a 19-14 record, which seems unfair to teams like Colorado, who did not even get invited to the Big Dance.

But The Nittany Lions are worthy of their spot, as they beat some quality teams. The Lions beat No. 4 seed Wisconsin twice out of three meetings, Michigan State twice and made a deep run in the Big Ten Tournament.

Penn State lost 71-60 to top overall seed Ohio State, but kept it close until late in the game. The Nittany Lions play a good Temple team, and if they win, they will beat San Diego State.

Southwest Region: Richmond

PROVIDENCE, RI - MARCH 18: Kevin Smith #12 of the Richmond Spiders reacts the Saint Mary's Gaels during the first round of the 2010 NCAA men's basketball tournament at Dunkin' Donuts Center on March 18, 2010 in Providence, Rhode Island. (Jim Rogash/Getty

Richmond has a couple of quality wins over Purdue and Temple, both tournament teams. The Spiders are also on a seven-game winning streak and have not lost since mid-February, so they do have momentum.

They will be playing Vanderbilt, a team who has seemed to struggle as of late and are in great danger of getting upset.

Richmond won't make it to the Elite 8 or the Final 4, but they will bust some brackets by beating Vanderbilt.

Southeast Region: Utah State/Belmont

SAN DIEGO, CA - FEBRUARY 8: Brian Carlwell #5 (center) of San Diego State fights for position during a free throw attempt against Jason Washburn #42 (left) and Will Clyburn #21 (right) of Utah on February 8, 2011 at Cox Arena in San Diego, California. SDS

Every year there is a first-round (or I guess second round, now) upset that makes you scratch your head; it also seems to be either a five-seed or six-seed losing to a 12 or 13-seed.

Belmont and/or Utah State are those potential teams that can stun everyone.

Belmont does not have a win that makes you say, "Wow." The best teams Belmont has played are Tennessee and Vanderbilt, but they made a game out of both of them. Something about this game yells upset.

Utah State, like Belmont, has few quality wins, and also like Belmont, they were able to scare some top teams. Utah State nearly beat BYU early in the season, while their opponent Kansas State got blown out by Colorado last time they played.
