Hull City Transfer Rumours: 5 Latest Names Linked to the Tigers

Hull City will look to bring in transfers to strengthen the club next season, and a number of names have been linked to the club.

City finished second in the Championship and will return to the Premier League after three seasons. They will need to add some players in key areas to avoid relegation in 2013/14.

They've already brought in a few new faces, with Maynor Figueroa, Curtis Davies and Allan McGregor having signed.

More arrivals will be expected.

Here are the five latest names linked with a move to Hull City.

Sky Sports has earmarked Hull City as one of a number of potential suitors for Luke Moore. 

The Swansea City striker has never been a productive goalscorer during a career that has seen him play for five different clubs. His best goal tally—eight goals in one season—came back in 2005/06 with Aston Villa.

Hull City does need more firepower up front, but Luke Moore would not be a good option.

According to the Mirror, Hull City boss Steve Bruce is looking to sign Wilson Palacios.

Palacios has rarely featured for Stoke City since his transfer at the start of the 2011/12 season. He has appeared 32 times for the Potters in two seasons.

The Honduran midfielder has already worked under Steve Bruce. Along with the signing of Maynor Figueroa, that fact may entice him to make the move.

Scott Burns of the Express writes that Hull may look to add some firepower in the form of Burnley forward Charlie Austin.

Austin has been in impressive form for the Championship side these last two seasons, scoring a total of 44 goals in 85 games for the club. His goalscoring instinct and ability in the air are the main reasons for that.

Hull will be hoping he can step up to the top level of English football, and help them stay up in the process. 

Though they have already signed two defenders, Hull City have been linked, via the Daily Mail, with a move for Richard Dunne.

The Republic of Ireland defender missed out on the 2012/13 season due to injury, but would add valuable experience. That attribute will be vital if Hull expect to survive the relegation battle.

Dunne is powerful in the air and, while he's not able to use his deceptive speed anymore, his strength enables him to out-muscle his opponents.  

Grant Holt's situation at Norwich City is an interesting one, and the Daily Star reveals that Hull City may look to sign the veteran English striker. ESPN FC reported that the striker handed in a transfer request at the end of the 2011/12 season, and he may still be open to a move this summer.

Norwich signed Dutch striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel earlier in the window and that may mean much less playing time for Holt.

He scored 15 goals in his first Premier League season, and followed it up with eight in 2012/13. If he leads the line for Hull, he could replicate that 15-goal haul and help the club survive relegation.
