Newcastle United Transfer News and Rumours Tracker: Week of July 7

Newcastle United’s summer recruitment drive is well underway, with Jack Colback, Ayoze Perez and Siem de Jong already through the door at St. James’ Park.
However, fans are under no illusions about the size of the rebuilding job required following a disastrous run during the last campaign that saw the Magpies win just one of their final eight fixtures.
The Toon have already seen three strikers depart over the past two months, with Loic Remy and Luuk de Jong returning to their parent clubs, and Shola Ameobi’s contract expiring.
Further exits look inevitable.
As crunch time approaches for the club’s hierarchy, Bleacher Report catches up with the latest rumours surrounding the Geordies.

Demba Ba

Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew is set to turn to a Magpies old boy to bolster his attacking options, with Demba Ba back in the manager’s sights.
The Senegalese striker left Tyneside to join Chelsea in January last year, but the majority of his time since has been spent on the Stamford Bridge substitutes bench.
According to the Daily Star’s Ian Murtagh, Everton have already approached the Londoners with a view to taking the forward on-loan next season, but the Toon’s strong financial position puts them in the driving seat.
Ba joined United on a free transfer in June 2011, bagging 29 goals in 58 appearances before leaving for the capital.
Loic Remy

Another familiar face could also be on his way back to St. James’ Park as Newcastle United look to revive a deal to sign Loic Remy on a permanent basis.
The French international enjoyed a fruitful spell on-loan with the Magpies last term, and was the club’s top scorer with 14 goals in 24 starts.
However, since returning to parent club Queens Park Rangers, a much-publicised move to Arsenal appears to have stalled, with the Gunners unwilling to meet his wage demands.
And in a report by the Daily Mail’s Simon Jones, the Toon are ready to take full advantage of the situation by meeting Remy’s buy-out clause of £8 million as well as agreeing to his terms.
Remy Cabella

Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew seems poised to bring long-term target Remy Cabella to the club, with a £9.5 million bid on the table for the Montpellier star.
The Magpies tried in vain to get a deal done before a ball was kicked at the World Cup, but the transfer stalled after their opening offer fell short of his valuation.
Their latest attempt, however, has prompted a fresh round of talks, and according to Miles Starforth in the Shields Gazette, the midfielder is keen on the move.
Cabella was a late addition to Didier Deschamps’ France squad for this summer’s showcase in Brazil, but the 24-year-old remained an unused substitute throughout the tournament.
Carl Jenkinson

Arsenal’s attempts to sign Newcastle United’s Mathieu Debuchy could see Carl Jenkinson move to St. James’ Park as part of the deal.
The right-back has been made available by Arsene Wenger and would cushion the blow for the Magpies as they prepare to reshuffle their back four ahead of the new campaign.
Jenkinson’s hopes of landing a starting berth at the Emirates Stadium soared after Bacary Sagna left to join Manchester City, but Debuchy’s imminent arrival has forced him into a rethink.
And according to the Daily Mail’s Simon Jones, the 22-year-old could find himself out of the picture all together, with the Gunners ready to move him on.
Joel Campbell

Another potential makeweight in the Mathieu Debuchy deal could be Joel Campbell, with Arsenal set to send the striker out on-loan for the upcoming season.
The Costa Rica international, who has won an army of admirers after starring at this summer’s World Cup, could be a good fit at Newcastle United, with the Magpies desperate to bolster their attack.
In a report by the Evening Chronicle’s Lee Ryder, Southampton, Everton and West Ham United are all credited with an interest in the 22-year-old.
But the Toon are in the driving seat thanks to the Debuchy deal, and could benefit from a similar arrangement to the one that saw the forward spend last term at Olympiakos.
Moussa Sissoko

Fresh from international duty at the World Cup, French star Moussa Sissoko is set to thrash out his immediate future with Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew.
According to Lee Ryder in the Evening Chronicle, the 24-year-old is being courted by AS Monaco and Liverpool, but Pardew is keen to hang on to the midfielder.
Sissoko arrived on Tyneside in January last year, penning a six-and-a-half-year contract, but his displays in Brazil have seen interest in the former Toulouse man spiral.
The Magpies are understood to value the player at £10 million, but a bidding war may ensue should big-spending AS Monaco decide to make an opening offer.
Mathieu Debuchy

One player who looks certain to leave Newcastle United over the next few days is French defender Mathieu Debuchy.
The right-back is in advanced talks with Arsenal, as reported by The Telegraph’s Jeremy Wilson, with Arsene Wenger set to spend north of £10 million of his summer budget.
Debuchy played in all but one of his country’s games at the World Cup. He is seen by the Gunners as an ideal replacement for Bacary Sagna, who joined Manchester City last month.
The 28-year-old has been with the Magpies for 18 months after arriving from Lille in a £5.5 million deal last January.
Micah Richards

One potential replacement for Mathieu Debuchy at Newcastle United is Micah Richards, with the Daily Star’s Paul Hetherington suggesting a move for the Manchester City man is on the cards.
The defender finds himself third in line for the right-back slot at City behind Pablo Zabaleta and new arrival Bacary Sagna, with the report indicating an offer of £3 million would clinch the deal.
However, the 26-year-old appeared to pour scorn on the rumours over the weekend via his official Twitter account.
Answering a tweet from a fan who was welcoming his potential arrival at St. James’ Park, Richards simply replied: “Stop listening to papers.”

Daryl Janmaat

Another possible replacement for Debuchy is Holland international Daryl Janmaat, who currently plays his club football with Eredivisie side Feyenoord.
According to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla (via Metro blogger Thomas Bore), the defender looks set to join fellow Dutchmen Tim Krul, Vurnon Anita and Siem de Jong at St. James’ Park.
The 24-year-old began his career at youth level with Feyenoord and enjoyed spells with ADO Den Haag and Heerenveen before returning to De Kuip in 2012.
In a separate report from the Daily Mail’s Simon Jones, Manchester United are also said to be in the race to land the right-back after an impressive World Cup campaign.
