Big 12 Tournament 2024: Men's Bracket Seeds, Odds, Matchups and Predictions
Big 12 Tournament 2024: Men's Bracket Seeds, Odds, Matchups and Predictions

The top of the Big 12 experienced a shakeup because of expansion and inconsistencies from perennial powers.
The Kansas Jayhawks and Texas Longhorns, who won the last three Big 12 tournaments, may not make it out of the quarterfinals in Kansas City.
The Houston Cougars were the class of the conference in their first season as a Big 12 member.
Kelvin Sampson's team is built to win in March and it could leave the Sprint Center with its third conference tournament title in four years between the Big 12 and AAC.
The Iowa State Cyclones should have a say in that outcome. The No. 2 seed went 8-2 in its last 10 games, and it is the only program outside of Kansas and Texas to win a Big 12 tournament in the last decade.

Prediction

The traditional powers of the Big 12 likely will not contend in Kansas City.
Kansas will be without Hunter Dickinson and Kevin McCullar in Kansas City. Head coach Bill Self confirmed that news on Tuesday, per CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein.
The 12-time Big 12 tournament champion will likely exit in the quarterfinals to the Baylor Bears. Kansas' primary focus has to be getting healthy for the NCAA men's basketball tournament.
Texas, an eight-time Big 12 tournament finalist, may last only two days inside the Sprint Center. The Longhorns lost their last three meetings with the league's top three teams and could lose to Iowa State for the second time in five weeks in the quarterfinals.
Houston, Iowa State and Baylor are the class of the conference and we should see a combination of that triumvirate in Saturday's championship game.
A potential semifinal between Iowa State and Baylor would be a type of game you would see in the Sweet 16 or beyond in the NCAA tournament.
Baylor has never won the Big 12 tournament. It is an intriguing pick to win at +800 because it beat Iowa State and took Houston to overtime.
Houston should still be viewed as the favorite because it has one loss since January 17, but it will be tested in the final by whomever emerges from the bottom half of the bracket.
Prediction: Houston over Baylor
