The defending champion will start as the heavy favorite, justifiably so.
Over the last two years, the top-ranked Italian has blossomed into the best hard-court player on tour, due to his blistering groundstrokes, dominant serve, and constant ability to thrive in the match's most physical moments.
Shelton is more than capable of taking a set or two, but given Sinner's current form, this match is his to lose.
Novak Djokovic vs. Alexander Zverev
Novak Djokovic is inching closer to a record-breaking 25th Grand Slam title.
But, before he can etch his name into history, he'll have to face Alexander Zverev in the semifinal.
Djokovic owns an 8-4 advantage over Zverev, though the two have not played each other since 2023.
The 24-time Grand Slam champion has been in impeccable form as of late, defeating three consecutive players ranked in the Top 30, dropping just one set in the process.
Zverev has the potential to challenge the Serbian, but he must overcome his own challenges, including a 2-6 record in Grand Slam semifinals.
Furthermore, Djokovic has proven to thrive in the biggest moments at Melbourne Park, winning 12 of his 13 semifinal matches.
Zverev might force a tiebreaker and win a set, but Djokovic should advance in the end.
