Ben Shelton and Madison Keys are the last two Americans standing at the 2025 Australian Open.

Shelton downed unseeded Italian Lorenzo Sonego in Wednesday's quarterfinals to set up a clash with top seed Jannik Sinner.

Keys needed three sets to take down Elina Svitolina in a battle of two of the most experienced women in the Australian Open singles draw.

Keys also has a tough matchup ahead in the semifinals against Iga Swiatek.

Both Sinner and Swiatek cruised in their respective quarterfinals on Wednesday. Their wins placed the top two seeds in each bracket into the final four.

No. 1 Jannik Sinner def. No. 8 Alex De Minaur, 6-3, 6-2, 6-1

No. 21 Ben Shelton def. Lorenzo Sonego, 6-4, 7-5, 4-6, 7-6 (4)

Jannik Sinner's title reign in Melbourne might not end anytime soon.

The top-seeded Italian blew past Australian Alex De Minaur on Wednesday to secure his spot in the semifinals.

De Minaur only won six games off Sinner over the course of three sets. A much larger fight was expected out of the No. 8 seed on his home court.

Sinner's next opponent is American Ben Shelton, who needed four sets to secure his second-ever Grand Slam semifinal appearance.

Shelton advanced to the semifinals at the 2023 U.S. Open. He also has a quarterfinal berth from the 2023 Australian Open on his resume.

Sinner owns a 4-1 head-to-head record over Shelton, but Shelton's lone triumph did come on a hard court.

Sinner is trying to reach his third straight hard-court Grand Slam final. He won both hard-court majors in 2024.

The winner of the Sinner-Shelton match will take on Novak Djokovic or Alexander Zverev in Sunday's final.

No. 2 Iga Swiatek def. No. 8 Emma Navarro, 6-1, 6-2

No. 19 Madison Keys def. No. 28 Elina Svitolina, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4

Madison Keys and Iga Swiatek won in two different ways on Wednesday.

Swiatek barely broke a sweat against American Emma Navarro over two sets. Navarro only managed to win three games in two sets.

Meanwhile, Keys won a three-set battle over Elina Svitolina to set up her semifinal showdown with the No. 2 seed.

Keys is into her seventh Grand Slam semifinal. All but one of those semifinal appearances came at the hard-court majors.

Swiatek is a fixture at this stage of Grand Slam tournaments, but she has never made a final in Melbourne.

Swiatek is 4-1 against Keys in their careers, but Keys' one victory did come in straight sets on a hard court in Cincinnati in 2022.

Aryna Sabalenka, the two-time reigning champion, and Paula Badosa face off in the other women's semifinal that was set on Tuesday.
