After four seasons with Georgia, star quarterback Carson Beck has decided to finish his college career elsewhere.

Per On3's Pete Nakos, the senior is expected to enter the transfer portal. Beck has been with the Bulldogs since 2021 and has been Georgia's starter over the past two years.

Beck had an outstanding junior season with 3,941 passing yards, 24 touchdowns and just six interceptions before taking a small step back in 2024, throwing for 3,485 yards, 28 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

He suffered an injury in the SEC championship game against Texas and was not able to start for the Bulldogs in their College Football Playoff semifinal loss to Notre Dame.

Even though Beck didn't take much of a leap in his fourth season of college football, he will likely be one of the most sought-after players in the portal this year. Here are a few places he could end up next fall.

Miami

Shortly after the initial report of Beck entering the transfer portal, ESPN's Pete Thamel reported that Miami "looms as the favorite" to land the quarterback.

That destination would make perfect sense for both the Hurricanes and Beck.

Last offseason, Miami went into the portal and picked up one of the best quarterbacks available in Cam Ward. Ward, who will likely be one of the first quarterbacks off the board in the NFL draft, had a Heisman-caliber season and nearly led the Hurricanes to the College Football Playoff.

After seeing what Ward did at Miami, heading south has to be an exciting prospect. He could work with an offensive coordinator that took Ward from a great college quarterback to arguably the best while also getting the chance to still compete for a national title like he did at Georgia.

The Canes need a veteran to replace Ward, and Beck would be exactly that. Taking his talents to Miami could be the perfect choice for Beck.

Ohio State

Though Miami might be the early favorite, Nakos reported that a handful of other teams, including Ohio State, are in the mix.

The Buckeyes, who once counted on 5-star talent under center, got a veteran quarterback out of the transfer portal ahead of the 2024 season and now they're just a win away from reaching the national championship game.

Will Howard has thrived in Columbus, throwing for 3,490 yards and 32 touchdowns, both career highs. Like Ward was at Miami, Howard at Ohio State is an example of the kind of heights Beck could reach with the Buckeyes.

Of course, NIL will likely be a factor in Beck's decision, and Ohio State should have no issues giving him a sizeable financial offer.

Texas Tech

Along with Ohio State, the other team Nakos mentioned as being in the mix for Beck was Texas Tech.

At first, this seems like a somewhat surprising destination, but it could work for both Beck and the Red Raiders.

If Beck is interested in getting to the College Football Playoff, going to Lubbock could give him a pretty straightforward route. Texas Tech is in a decent spot after winning eight games a season ago, and bringing in a veteran quarterback with SEC experience could help the Red Raiders take another jump.

Beck would also get to compete in the Big 12 rather than the SEC or Big Ten, the two toughest conferences in college football. That would make getting a spot in the CFP either by winning a conference championship or receiving an at-large bid.

Playing in a somewhat weaker conference would also give Beck the chance to bolster his stats ahead of the draft.
