Big 12 Tournament 2025: Men's Bracket, TV Schedule, Dates, Bracketology Predictions

The Houston Cougars will try to complete the Big 12 double in Kansas City.

Kelvin Sampson's team ran rampant through the regular season to earn the No. 1 seed at the 2025 Big 12 tournament.

Houston only lost once to the Texas Tech Red Raiders on its way to a 19-1 record in league play.

While Houston is the favorite, there are a few upset-minded teams looking to improve their NCAA tournament resumes.

Texas Tech is the No. 2 seed, the Arizona Wildcats are the No. 3 seed and the BYU Cougars are the No. 4 seed.

The Kansas Jayhawks are the notable team left outside the top four. Kansas will have to win four games in four days as the No. 6 seed if it wants the Big 12 automatic bid.

Houston enters Kansas City as the Big 12's best prospect of landing a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament.

The Cougars were difficult to beat in the regular season because of their incredible defense.

They rarely allowed opponents to get over 65 points. The same tough defense will translate to the neutral floor in Kansas City.

Three typical Houston performances should power the Cougars to the tournament title, a goal it missed by one win last season.

Houston may not have to win the Big 12 tournament to clinch a No. 1 seed depending on what happens in the SEC.

A few upsets to Auburn, Florida and the other top SEC teams could allow Houston to feel 100 percent safe about its status as a No. 1 seed even if it can't complete the double.

Arizona has the best chance to win the Big 12 tournament in its first season in the league.

Tommy Lloyd's team earned the No. 3 seed and finished well ahead of the other three arrivals from the Pac-12. Arizona State, Colorado and Utah all play in the first round.

The trip to Kansas City is vital for Arizona to turn things around. The Wildcats lost five of their last eight regular-season games. They fell to Houston, Kansas and Iowa State in that stretch.

Arizona has been a solid postseason team in recent years. It won the Pac-12 tournament in 2022 and 2023 and made the semifinals in 2024.

Arizona has a chance to avenge its loss to Kansas in the quarterfinals. Then it could face Texas Tech in the semifinals. The Wildcats and Red Raiders split the regular-season series.

The theme, though, with Arizona and the rest of the Big 12 is that it has talent to challenge Houston, but none of those programs have been consistent enough to dethrone the Cougars yet.

Houston over Texas Tech

Houston has plenty of motivation in its favor.

The Cougars are chasing the Big 12 double, a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament and want to win in Kansas City after dropping the final to Iowa State in 2024.

Houston, like Duke in the ACC and St. John's in the Big East, is the clear favorite going into the conference tournament.

All of Houston's opponents will have to put together their best games of the season to dethrone the Cougars.

Texas Tech might give Houston its best challenge. The Red Raiders only lost to Houston by eight on February 24.

Texas Tech enters in better form than Arizona and Kansas. Being more consistent game by game could help the Red Raiders emerge from the bottom half of the bracket.
