NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament 2025: Full Bracket and Championship Odds

UCLA enters as the top No. 1 seed in this year’s women’s college basketball tournament.

The Bruins dominated throughout the course of the year en route to a 30-2 record.

However, despite winning both the Big Ten regular season conference title and the Big Ten Tournament Championship in a conference that sent 12 teams to the Big Dance this season, UCLA is not the favorite to win it all.

Rather, it’s South Carolina that holds the shortest odds of winning it all, per Draftkings Sportsbook, with UConn slightly behind them.

The Gamecocks won last year’s tournament and have not lost any steam this year, going 30-3 while also entering the tournament as a No. 1 seed.

While the Huskies haven't won the championship since 2015–16, it's foolish to underestimate Geno Auriemma's team.

UCLA and USC eye Potential Final Four Matchup

UCLA v USC

In her 14th year of leading UCLA, Cori Close has her most complete team yet.

The Bruins enter the tournament as one of the most battle-tested teams in the nation, boasting a stellar 13-2 record in Quad 1 games.

In the Big Ten Conference Championship, they finally exacted revenge for their only two losses, which came against crosstown rival and fellow tournament No. 1 seed USC.

Aside from a likely Elite Eight matchup against NC State, the Bruins should face few difficulties en route to a likely Final Four berth.

There, it's quite possible that UCLA faces JuJu Watkins and the Trojans for the fourth time this year—or instead, faces a No. 2 seed in UConn, which is arguably the most complete in the country.

The Huskies surrender the second-least points per game (51.9) while scoring the 10th most points per game (80.8) in the nation.

Furthermore, since losing to USC 72-70 on December 21, 2024, UConn has been nearly perfect, winning 21 of their last 22, including ending South Carolina's 71-game win streak at home with a 29-point drubbing over the Gamecocks, their worst loss at home since October 2008.

Expect a rematch of the thrilling mid-season USC-UConn game, with a Final Four berth at stake this time.

South Carolina faces Favorable Path

Texas v South Carolina

South Carolina is aiming to become the fourth different program to win back-to-back National Championships (UConn, USC, Tennessee).

The Gamecocks have won the Big Dance two of the last three years and enter this year's tournament as the favorite to win.

Aside from a stunning 29-point home loss against UConn, which snapped their 71-game home streak, the Gamecocks have been absolutely dominant this year, winning 16 of 19 Quad 1 matchups and recently winning the SEC Conference tournament for the third consecutive year.

Dawn Staley's team has a favorable bracket and will likely only be challenged by Duke in the Elite Eight in what should be yet another Final Four appearance for the Gamecocks.
