MLB Farm System Rankings for the 2025 Season
MLB Farm System Rankings for the 2025 Season

Welcome to Bleacher Report's first farm system rankings of the 2025 season, complete with a new and improved tier system!
Multiple factors helped determine each prospect's placement on his team's top prospect list. Potential trumps production a lot of the time, especially in the lower levels of the minors and with recent draft picks. As for those in the higher levels of the minors, production was a bigger factor since these players are closer to the big leagues.
A tier system was used to help differentiate the varying levels of individual talent:
Tier 1: A player who checks in No. 1-25 on B/R's Top 100 prospects list. This is the cream of the prospect crop and players who are viewed as potential future superstars.
Tier 2: A player who checks in No. 26-50 on B/R's Top 100 prospects list. These prospects are potential All-Star level talents, but might not be fully untouchable in trade talks.
Tier 3: A player who checks in No. 51-100 on B/R's Top 100 prospects list. These prospects might have recently broken out, are still in the lower levels of the minors or are former Tier 1 or Tier 2 prospects whose stock is down.
Tier 4: A player who appears on the "Next 100" list in B/R's Top 100 prospects article. These players are Nos. 101-200 among prospects in no particular order, with the potential to climb the rankings in the near future.
Tier 5: Everyone else. Organizational depth, one-tool standouts, Quad-A guys, teenagers with an extremely limited track record in the lowest levels of the minors, you get the idea.
This has been tweaked from years past when all Top 100 prospects were classified in the same tier. There's too big of a difference between the No. 1 and No. 100 prospects for that group to not be broken down further.
Note: A player must not have surpassed the rookie-eligibility limits (130 at-bats, 50 innings pitched, 45 days on an active roster) to be included in these rankings.
30. New York Yankees

Top 10 Prospects
1. SS George Lombard Jr. (Tier 3)
2. OF Spencer Jones (Tier 4)
3. SS Roderick Arias (Tier 4)
4. RHP Will Warren (Tier 4)
5. RHP Ben Hess (Tier 5)
6. RHP Bryce Cunningham (Tier 5)
7. C/1B Rafael Flores (Tier 5)
8. LHP Brock Selvidge (Tier 5)
9. LHP Henry Lalane (Tier 5)
10. RHP Chase Hampton (Tier 5)
Prospect Snapshot: SS George Lombard Jr.
With a first-round pedigree and baseball bloodlines, Lombard is a popular pick to turn in a breakout season in 2025. The 19-year-old has a projectable 6'2", 190-pound frame and a chance for above-average tools across the board while sticking at shortstop. With Jasson Dominguez moving on to the majors, he is now the face of the farm system.
29. San Francisco Giants

Top 10 Prospects
1. 1B Bryce Eldridge (Tier 1)
2. OF James Tibbs III (Tier 4)
3. LHP Carson Whisenhunt (Tier 4)
4. SS Josuar De Jesus (Tier 5)
5. OF Dakota Jordan (Tier 5)
6. LHP Joe Whitman (Tier 5)
7. OF Rayner Arias (Tier 5)
8. RHP Trevor McDonald (Tier 5)
9. SS Jhonny Level (Tier 5)
10. OF Bo Davidson (Tier 5)
Prospect Snapshot: SS Josuar De Jesus
De Jesus received the second-largest bonus ever given to an international prospect by the Giants at just under $3 million in January, and he has the tools to turn in one of the loudest debuts of this year's class. A switch-hitter with elite bat speed, he has been compared to Francisco Lindor and José Reyes.
28. Toronto Blue Jays

Top 10 Prospects
1. SS Arjun Nimmala (Tier 3)
2. RHP Trey Yesavage (Tier 4)
3. 2B Orelvis Martínez (Tier 4)
4. LHP Ricky Tiedemann (Tier 4)
5. RHP Jake Bloss (Tier 4)
6. OF Alan Roden (Tier 4)
7. SS Josh Kasevich (Tier 5)
8. RHP Landen Maroudis (Tier 5)
9. LHP Kendry Rojas (Tier 5)
10. RHP Fernando Perez (Tier 5)
Prospect Snapshot: RHP Trey Yesavage
The No. 20 pick in the 2024 draft and the fourth pitcher taken overall, Yesavage went 11-1 with a 2.03 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 145 strikeouts in 93.1 innings during his junior season at East Carolina. Like most college pitchers, he was shut down for the year after signing, so his pro debut will come this year at Single-A Dunedin.
27. Kansas City Royals

Top 10 Prospects
1. 1B Jac Caglianone (Tier 2)
2. C Blake Mitchell (Tier 3)
3. C Carter Jensen (Tier 4)
4. RHP Ben Kudrna (Tier 4)
5. LHP Noah Cameron (Tier 5)
6. OF Gavin Cross (Tier 5)
7. LHP David Shields (Tier 5)
8. RHP Blake Wolters (Tier 5)
9. RHP Steven Zobac (Tier 5)
10. C Ramon Ramirez (Tier 5)
Prospect Snapshot: C Carter Jensen
Jensen is the consensus No. 3 prospect in the Royals system behind their two Top 100 guys, and his stock is on the rise following a run in the Arizona Fall League where he hit .425/.582/.800 with four home runs and 11 RBI in 12 games. The 21-year-old has a 50-hit, 55-power offensive profile with a real chance to stick behind the plate thanks to a strong arm and improving receiving skills.
26. San Diego Padres

Top 10 Prospects
1. SS Leo De Vries (Tier 1)
2. C Ethan Salas (Tier 2)
3. LHP Kash Mayfield (Tier 4)
4. RHP Humberto Cruz (Tier 5)
5. RHP Isaiah Lowe (Tier 5)
6. LHP Boston Bateman (Tier 5)
7. RHP Victor Lizarraga (Tier 5)
8. SS Cobb Hightower (Tier 5)
9. 3B Kale Fountain (Tier 5)
10. RHP Braden Nett (Tier 5)
Prospect Snapshot: 3B Kale Fountain
With a strong 6'5", 225-pound frame, Fountain does not look like a 19-year-old who was playing high school baseball at this time a year ago. He is the prototypical 40-hit, 60-power lottery ticket, and the Padres saw enough upside to give him a $1.7 million bonus as a fifth-round pick in 2024.
25. Washington Nationals

Top 10 Prospects
1. RHP Travis Sykora (Tier 2)
2. RHP Jarlin Susana (Tier 3)
3. 3B Brady House (Tier 4)
4. SS Seaver King (Tier 4)
5. LHP Alex Clemmey (Tier 4)
6. C Caleb Lomavita (Tier 5)
7. SS Luke Dickerson (Tier 5)
8. OF Daylen Lile (Tier 5)
9. 3B Cayden Wallace (Tier 5)
10. OF Robert Hassell III (Tier 5)
Prospect Snapshot: RHP Jarlin Susana
Susana was a somewhat off-the-radar prospect when the Nationals acquired him from the Padres as part of the return package in the Juan Soto blockbuster, but his electric stuff has him rising Top 100 lists. The 6'6", 235-pound right-hander regularly sits in the triple digits with his fastball and backs it with a plus slider, and he racked up 157 strikeouts in 103.2 innings in 2024.
24. Los Angeles Angels

Top 10 Prospects
1. RHP Caden Dana (Tier 3)
2. 2B Christian Moore (Tier 3)
3. SS Joswa Lugo (Tier 4)
4. RHP George Klassen (Tier 4)
5. LHP Samuel Aldegheri (Tier 4)
6. OF Nelson Rada (Tier 4)
7. RHP Ryan Johnson (Tier 5)
8. SS Denzer Guzman (Tier 5)
9. OF Matthew Lugo (Tier 5)
10. RHP Dioris De La Rosa (Tier 5)
Prospect Snapshot: RHP Ryan Johnson
The Angels have targeted fast-moving college players at the top of their recent draft classes. Johnson did not make a single appearance in the minors before earning a spot on the Opening Day roster. The 2024 second-round pick went 11-3 with a 2.21 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 151 strikeouts in 106 innings last spring at Dallas Baptist.
23. Arizona Diamondbacks

Top 10 Prospects
1. SS Jordan Lawlar (Tier 1)
2. IF Demetrio Crisantes (Tier 4)
3. RHP Yilber Diaz (Tier 4)
4. OF Druw Jones (Tier 4)
5. OF Slade Caldwell (Tier 4)
6. C Adrian Del Castillo (Tier 4)
7. OF Ryan Waldschmidt (Tier 4)
8. SS Jansel Luis (Tier 5)
9. SS Tommy Troy (Tier 5)
10. 3B LuJames Groover (Tier 5)
Prospect Snapshot: IF Demetrio Crisantes
Signed to an above-slot $425,000 deal as a seventh-round pick in 2022, Crisantes has hit .342/.427/.486 in 553 plate appearances over the last two seasons in the lower levels of the minors. The 20-year-old has a 60-grade hit tool and some developing power, giving him one of the highest ceilings in the D-backs system.
22. Houston Astros

Top 10 Prospects
1. OF Cam Smith (Tier 1)
2. SS Brice Matthews (Tier 3)
3. OF Jacob Melton (Tier 3)
4. C Walker Janek (Tier 4)
5. RHP Miguel Ullola (Tier 4)
6. 3B Zach Dezenzo (Tier 4)
7. RHP Ryan Forcucci (Tier 5)
8. RHP Anderson Brito (Tier 5)
9. RHP A.J. Blubaugh (Tier 5)
10. OF Luis Baez (Tier 5)
Prospect Snapshot: RHP Miguel Ullola
Ullola has an electric 70-grade fastball and mirrors the type of pitcher whom the Astros have had good success developing in recent years. The 22-year-old ranked third in the minors with 171 strikeouts in 130.1 innings last season. After spending 2024 in the upper levels of the minors, he should make his MLB debut at some point in 2025.
21. Baltimore Orioles

Top 10 Prospects
1. C Samuel Basallo (Tier 1)
2. 1B/3B Coby Mayo (Tier 1)
3. RHP Chayce McDermott (Tier 4)
4. OF Enrique Bradfield Jr. (Tier 4)
5. OF Vance Honeycutt (Tier 4)
6. OF Dylan Beavers (Tier 5)
7. RHP Michael Forret (Tier 5)
8. RHP Keeler Morfe (Tier 5)
9. SS Griff O'Ferrall (Tier 5)
10. RHP Patrick Reilly (Tier 5)
Prospect Snapshot: OF Enrique Bradfield Jr.
With Cedric Mullins headed for free agency after the 2025 season, Bradfield could be the Orioles' center fielder of the future. The Vanderbilt product was the No. 17 overall pick in the 2023 draft, and his polished hit tool and top-of-the-scale speed were on display last year when he batted .272/.358/.371 with 74 steals in 108 games between High-A and Double-A.
20. Pittsburgh Pirates

Top 10 Prospects
1. RHP Bubba Chandler (Tier 1)
2. RHP Thomas Harrington (Tier 3)
3. SS Konnor Griffin (Tier 3)
4. 2B Termarr Johnson (Tier 4)
5. RHP Braxton Ashcraft (Tier 4)
6. 2B/OF Nick Yorke (Tier 4)
7. RHP Zander Mueth (Tier 5)
8. SS Wyatt Sanford (Tier 5)
9. RHP Levi Sterling (Tier 5)
10. LHP Hunter Barco (Tier 5)
Prospect Snapshot: RHP Zander Mueth
A projectable 6'6", 205-pound right-hander plucked from the Illinois high school ranks with the No. 67 overall pick in the 2023 draft, Mueth posted a 2.31 ERA with 79 strikeouts in 74 innings and a .179 opponents' batting average between rookie ball and Single-A in his pro debut. He also walked 50 batters, but if he can take a step forward with his command, he has Top 100 prospect upside.
19. Miami Marlins

Top 10 Prospects
1. LHP Thomas White (Tier 2)
2. SS Starlyn Caba (Tier 3)
3. RHP Noble Meyer (Tier 3)
4. C Agustin Ramirez (Tier 3)
5. LHP Robby Snelling (Tier 4)
6. 1B/3B Deyvison De Los Santos (Tier 4)
7. SS Andrew Salas (Tier 5)
8. C Joe Mack (Tier 5)
9. OF PJ Morlando (Tier 5)
10. OF Dillon Head (Tier 5)
Prospect Snapshot: SS Andrew Salas
The younger brother of Twins prospect Jose Salas and Padres prospect Ethan Salas signed for $3.7 million in January as one of the most hyped international prospects of the 2025 class. With a 55-grade hit tool and standout defensive tools at shortstop, he could quickly emerge as a top-tier prospect in his pro debut.
18. Milwaukee Brewers

Top 10 Prospects
1. C Jeferson Quero (Tier 2)
2. SS Jesús Made (Tier 3)
3. SS Cooper Pratt (Tier 3)

8. RHP Bishop Letson (Tier 5)
9. SS Luis Peña (Tier 5)
10. OF Braylon Payne (Tier 5)
Prospect Snapshot: SS Jesús Made
Made turned in arguably the most impressive pro debut of any prospect from the 2024 international class, hitting .331/.458/.554 with 21 extra-base hits, 28 steals and more walks (39) than strikeouts (28) over 51 games in the Dominican Summer League. The 17-year-old made his stateside debut at Single-A as one of the youngest players in full-season ball to begin the 2025 season.
17. Atlanta Braves

Top 10 Prospects
1. C Drake Baldwin (Tier 2)
2. RHP AJ Smith-Shawver (Tier 3)

10. RHP Lucas Braun (Tier 5)
Prospect Snapshot: RHP Lucas Braun
A sixth-round pick in 2023 out of Cal State Northridge, Braun had a terrific first full season of pro ball last year, going 9-4 with a 3.26 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 162 strikeouts in 143.2 innings. The 23-year-old does not have overpowering stuff and he is a bit undersized at 6'0", 185 pounds, but he has a high floor thanks to his advanced feel for pitching.
16. Athletics

Top 10 Prospects
1. SS Jacob Wilson (Tier 2)
2. 1B Nick Kurtz (Tier 2)
3. OF Colby Thomas (Tier 3)
4. RHP Luis Morales (Tier 4)

8. RHP Jack Perkins (Tier 5)
9. OF Denzel Clarke (Tier 5)
10. 3B Tommy White (Tier 5)
Prospect Snapshot: 1B Nick Kurtz
After slugging 61 home runs in 164 games during his three seasons at Wake Forest, Kurtz went No. 4 overall in last year's draft and then logged a 1.283 OPS with four home runs and 13 RBI over 50 plate appearances in his pro debut. The A's sent him to Triple-A to open the 2025 campaign, and he could be in the big leagues before the All-Star break.
15. Philadelphia Phillies

Top 10 Prospects
1. RHP Andrew Painter (Tier 1)
2. SS Aidan Miller (Tier 2)
3. OF Justin Crawford (Tier 3)
4. C Eduardo Tait (Tier 3)
5. RHP Moisés Chace (Tier 4)

8. SS Devin Saltiban (Tier 5)
9. OF Gabriel Rincones Jr. (Tier 5)
10. RHP Seth Johnson (Tier 5)
Prospect Snapshot: RHP Moisés Chace
Chace was acquired last summer in the deal that sent lefty reliever Gregory Soto to the Orioles, and he continued to impress after joining the Philadelphia organization with a 3.66 ERA and 35-to-7 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 19.2 innings at Double-A. The 21-year-old trimmed his walk rate from 17.5 to 12.0 percent last season, helping to elevate his prospect profile.
14. New York Mets

Top 10 Prospects
1. RHP Brandon Sproat (Tier 2)
2. SS Jett Williams (Tier 3)
3. 1B/OF Ryan Clifford (Tier 4)

10. SS Elian Peña (Tier 5)
Prospect Snapshot: RHP Jonah Tong
Tong put together a breakout 2024 season to emerge as one of the top pitching prospects in the Mets system, posting a 3.03 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 160 strikeouts in 113 innings. The 2022 seventh-round pick creates good deception with an over-the-top delivery, and he could debut later this year if he continues to miss bats in the upper levels of the minors.
13. Cincinnati Reds

Top 10 Prospects
1. RHP Rhett Lowder (Tier 1)
2. RHP Chase Burns (Tier 2)

The 6'3", 210-pound right-hander had a 2.70 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 191 strikeouts in 100 innings at Wake Forest last year, and he could be the top pitching prospect in baseball by midseason.

2. LHP Quinn Mathews (Tier 2)
3. RHP Tink Hence (Tier 2)

The Cardinals know how to develop catchers, and Crooks took a major step forward last season when he hit .321/.410/.498 with 19 doubles, 11 home runs and 62 RBI in 90 games at Double-A last year. The University of Oklahoma product was viewed more as a glove-first catcher when he was taken in the fourth round of the 2022 draft, and that offensive production has spiked his prospect stock.
11. Minnesota Twins

Top 10 Prospects
1. OF Walker Jenkins (Tier 1)
2. OF Emmanuel Rodriguez (Tier 1)
3. 2B/OF Luke Keaschall (Tier 3)

10. RHP C.J. Culpepper (Tier 5)
Prospect Snapshot: LHP Connor Prielipp
Prielipp pitched just 28 innings during his time at the University of Alabama, but the Twins rolled the dice on his huge upside by taking him in the second round of the 2022 draft. The 24-year-old returned from internal brace surgery to strike out 41 of the 91 batters he faced last year, and he could fly up top prospect lists with a fully healthy 2025 campaign.
10. Los Angeles Dodgers

Top 10 Prospects
1. OF Josue De Paula (Tier 2)
2. OF/C Dalton Rushing (Tier 2)

He hit .342/.478/.691 with 11 doubles, 14 home runs and 46 RBI over 46 games in the Dominican Summer League last year. With room to grow into his 6'3", 191-pound frame, he could develop into a middle-of-the-order run producer.

The 23-year-old had a strong spring, and he now has an opportunity to claim an everyday role in the MLB outfield.

Top 10 Prospects
1. 3B Matt Shaw (Tier 1)
2. RHP Cade Horton (Tier 2)
3. C Moises Ballesteros (Tier 3)

1. 2B Travis Bazzana (Tier 1)
2. OF Jaison Chourio (Tier 3)

10. LHP Connelly Early (Tier 5)
Prospect Snapshot: SS Franklin Arias
Most baseball fans are well-acquainted with the "Big Three" atop the Red Sox farm system, but with all three of those guys expected to debut in 2025, Arias could be the team's top prospect heading into 2026. The 19-year-old is widely regarded as the best defensive infielder in the Red Sox system, and he hit .309/.409/.487 with 36 extra-base hits and 35 steals in 87 games between rookie ball and Single-A last year.

The rare hit-over-power first base prospect, Morgan was a three-year starter at LSU before going in the third round of the 2023 draft. The 22-year-old hit .324/.408/.483 with 23 doubles, 10 home runs, 68 RBI and 20 steals in 101 games across three minor league levels last year. Meidroth was one of the "other" prospects whom the White Sox acquired alongside Kyle Teel and Braden Montgomery in the deal that sent Garrett Crochet to the Red Sox, but he might be the first from that trio to reach the majors. The 23-year-old hit .293/.437/.401 with 105 walks in 122 games at Triple-A last season, and he is a capable defender at second base, shortstop and third base.

Prospect Snapshot: C/1B Josue Briceño
The Arizona Fall League MVP always tends to get a nice bump in prospect rankings, and Briceño is no exception. The 20-year-old hit .433/.509/.867 with 10 home runs and 27 RBI over 106 plate appearances in the AFL. While he might not stick as an everyday catcher, he could profile as a bat-first option who bounces between catcher and first base in a utility role.
