WWE WrestleMania 41 Results: Star Ratings for All Matches from Saturday's Card

WrestleMania 41

WWE delivered the first of two nights of WrestleMania action Saturday in Las Vegas at Allegiant Stadium with a show that started with Jey Uso winning the World Heavyweight Championship from Gunther and Seth Rollins besting Roman Reigns and CM Punk in a star-studded main event, thanks to the shocking actions of Paul Heyman.

How did those two marquee bouts grade out and what about the rest of the seven-match card?

Find out with this recap, including star ratings for each of the contests.

Undercard Ratings

WrestleMania 41

World Tag Team Championship Match: The New Day defeated The War Raiders to win the titles

War Raiders and New Day are both excellent tag teams but a muted crowd, thanks to the placement of the match just after Jey Uso's shining moment and a lack of investment-worthy creative, hurt this one's effectiveness. A match that would have been better served on an episode of WWE Raw. Rating: **1/2

Jade Cargill defeated Naomi

The story entering the match between Cargill and Naomi was excellent but there were questions about the quality once the bell rang. The competitors answered those questions defiantly, delivering a match that exceeded expectations and ended with an emphatic finish from the babyface. Rating: ***

United States Championship Match: Jacob Fatu defeated LA Knight to win the title

A good, physical match saw Knight pull out some new offense and catch Fatu with one of the best Blunt Force Trauma finishers ever. Great in-ring chemistry, creative spots, and a new champion helped elevate this one. For the second straight year, Knight flies under the radar but delivers a banger. Rating: ***1/2

El Grande Americano defeated Rey Fenix

Anytime you take Chad Gable (Americano) and Rey Fenix and put them in the ring together, there is going to be a solid match at the very least. That this was a last minute change due to an injury suffered by Rey Mysterio Friday on SmackDown makes the match that Americano and Fenix had that much more impressive. Rating: ***1/2

WWE Women's Championship Match: Tiffany Stratton Defeated Charlotte Flair

WrestleMania 41

Saturday's WWE Women's Championship defense against Charlotte Flair was the most important match of Tiffany Stratton's career and the young, former gymnast did not disappoint.

It was Tiffy Time in Las Vegas as Stratton survived the most physically grueling war with The Queen, defeating her with the Prettiest Moonsault Ever. Her body wracked with pain and showing evidence of the battle she had just endured, Stratton rose the WWE title overhead and celebrated to close out her debut WrestleMania.

A strong match with another great performance out of Flair on the grand stage, it saw Stratton overwhelmed and forced to fight back from underneath, which she did. She targeted the surgically repaired knee of her opponent, overcame landing ribs- and sternum-first on Flair's knees during one moonsault attempt, and ultimately bested the standard-bearer.

There is an even better match to be had between them, which is saying saying something. For now, this one far exceeded expectations and solidified Stratton's status as one of the young faces of WWE's bright future.

Rating: ***1/2

World Heavyweight Championship Match: Jey Uso Defeated Gunther

WrestleMania 41

Entering WrestleMania, Gunther told the whole world that Jey Uso was a joke and that he deserved a better match for the biggest show of the year. He taunted Uso and claimed he was not a real wrestler but, rather, a mascot and cartoon character.

He was not good enough to pose a real threat to The Ring General.

Uso proved him wrong Saturday night in Las Vegas with a story that helped elevate the world title match.

Not only was Uso good enough, but he laughed off his opponents dreaded chops late in the match, then proceeded to beat him with his own move set. He delivered a German suplex, rocked him with a lariat clothesline, answered chops with chops of his own, and ultimately tapped him out to a rear naked choke.

It was almost poetic that the guy who Gunther claimed was not on his level turned around and beat him with the very moves The Ring General had captured his world title with in the first place.

A fantastic match that served as the culmination of a five-year journey for Uso.

Rating: ****

Triple Threat Match: Seth Rollins Defeated Roman Reigns and CM Punk

WrestleMania 41

The best match of this year's WrestleMania Saturday saw Rollins, Reigns, and Punk leave it all in the ring in a wild, chaotic, Triple Threat Match that saw them take the fight to the arena floor, through the crowd, back into the squared circle, back to the floor, through a couple announce tables, before Rollins and Paul Heyman revealed their shocking alliance to secure The Visionary he win.

Dramatic near-falls, superb timing from all involved, an engaging narrative threaded throughout, and a shocking finish helped make Punk's first WrestleMania main event one of the greatest in the show's history.

The best performance from Reigns since last year's WrestleMania, the quiet consistency of Rollins, and a driven Punk elevated this one exponentially, as did a red-hot crowd solidly behind any one of their favorites. Rating: ****1/2
