The Rock vs. Roman Reigns and Dream Matches We Need to See After WWE WrestleMania 41

Monday Night RAW

Fans have patiently awaited the dream match between Roman Reigns and The Rock and coming out of WWE WrestleMania 41, it is a showdown the company absolutely must deliver before it is too late to do so.

Especially with The Tribal Chief stating he plans to retire from WWE and take his talents to Hollywood within the next five years.

That contest is just one of the dream matches the company must focus on delivering its fans coming out of The Showcase of the Immortals. What are the others?

Let's take a look.

The Rock vs. Roman Reigns

WRESTLING: FEB 08 Wrestlemania XL Kickoff

If The Tribal Chief vs. The Great One was ever going to happen, 2024 may have been our last chance at seeing the two generational competitors square off on the grand stage.

Still, that does not stop fans from wanting to see the products of the Anoa'i wrestling family want to square off in the blockbuster main event that has been teased countless times but never delivered on.

To get there, all that is needed is for it to be revealed that Rock has quietly and systematically been behind The Tribal Chief's downfall over the last two years. He manipulated Solo Sikoa into turning on Reigns and was instrumental in bringing Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa in. He manipulated things with Paul Heyman so that Reigns would be left alone in the wake of this year's Showcase of the Immortals.

The only thing that is needed for the match to take place is a solid commitment from The Rock that he will appear at the event next April and not show up, start a high-stakes program, and then conveniently miss WrestleMania, leaving Triple H and WWE Creative to scramble to find a different direction.

CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns

WrestleMania 41

The one major match that has eluded CM Punk is a one-on-one showdown with Roman Reigns. Fans got a taste of what that would like like Saturday based on their limited interactions with each other, but it was not enough to satisfy that desire to see them clash in a marquee bout.

Whether WrestleMania 42 or another premium live event on he way to that extravaganza, a showdown between The Tribal Chief and The Best in the World is a must. The story is fairly simple, too. Reigns still blames Punk for costing him Paul Heyman, refusing to believe for a moment that his actions or mistreatment of the advocate had anything to do with The Wise Man betraying him.

Meanwhile, Punk looks at Reigns as a roadblock on his path both to revenge over Rollins and Heyman but, also, the WWE title.

It writes itself, gives the company a bona fide dream match to book for any card it sees fit, and provides fans the opportunity to answer the question, "what if."

Rhea Ripley vs. Bianca Belair

WrestleMania 41

Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair have only met in a singles match twice in their careers, with the last occurring on February 16, 2020 at NXT Takeover: Portland. Despite the tremendous amount of success they have had on the main roster, they have never squared off one-on-one in a WWE main roster ring.

It is a match the company must produce, especially in the wake of WrestleMania 41.

Even in a Triple Threat Match also involving Iyo Sky, a match that earned immediate acclaim as a legitimate Match of the Year contender, Ripley and Belair could not keep from focusing on each other. They threw hands and drove each other into the mat, each looking to score a championship victory but, also, earn bragging rights.

With Sky retaining her title, WWE has the opportunity to break Ripley and Belair away from her and deliver that dream match between two of the great NXT exports of all time and the two biggest stars of today's women's division.

It is a big-money match but, also, one that fans and the performers themselves deserve.
