Seth Rollins Crushing It as a Heel, WWE Botching an Entire Division, More Raw Takes

Monday Night RAW
Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker continue to strengthen their partnership by taking over Raw.

The aftermath of WrestleMania 41 continued with the April 28 edition of Raw on Netflix at the T-Mobile Arena in Kansas City, Missouri.

Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker's new alliance with Paul Heyman was interrupted by Sami Zayn. Breakker made him pay for it in a brutal win by referee stoppage.

Logan Paul called out Jey Uso for a World Heavyweight Championship match. Main Event answered with a superkick.

Becky Lynch revealed she injured Bayley ahead of WrestleMania and challenged Lyra Valkyria for the Women's Intercontinental Championship.

Giulia helped Roxanne Perez beat down Rhea Ripley until Iyo Sky evened the odds. All signs point to The Prodigy and The Beautiful Madness fully committing to a dangerous alliance on Raw.

Liv Morgan announced she would be taking time off to film a movie, leaving the Women's Tag Team Championships undefended for the entire time she will be out.

This was an important night for building up Backlash as a can't-miss premium live event on May 10.

Seth Rollins Thriving as Heel

Few top guys needed a fresh angle quite like Seth Rollins. After a disappointing run as world champion ended at WrestleMania 41, he floated between angles.

The Visionary has awaited his opportunities to take out CM Punk, but he continued to struggle to stay relevant in a tweener role.

At WrestleMania 41, he stole the show on Night 1 with a dramatic heel turn that set the stage for his best character work in years.

In just two weeks on Raw, Rollins has become more interesting than he has been in years. This angle also has potential deliver the biggest moments of his entire career.

During the ThunderDome era, The Visionary had a chance to show what he could do with a flashier character known as The Messiah.

This new angle feels like a natural evolution of that character with a new disciple and a stronger backing for his gospel thanks to Heyman being by his side.

It is likely the group will add more stars. Becky Lynch almost makes too much sense, while plenty on Raw or SmackDown could use the spotlight as well.

Everything points to this as the biggest story for Raw on Netflix through the next year, and Rollins will be the centerpiece of it all.

Logan Paul Would Be Terrible Jey Uso Challenger

Monday Night RAW

Like clockwork, it's time for Logan Paul's latest championship opportunity. It will be his third world title shot in as many years on the active roster.

While WWE sells the idea that world title opportunities are difficult to earn, The Maverick can call for one at any time.

When he called his first shot at Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Championship in 2022, it was an odd choice but made for a bold test for the rising star.

When he called his second shot at Rey Mysterio for the United States title in 2023, the YouTuber got to prove his value in working with a veteran.

When he called his third shot at Cody Rhodes for the WWE Championship in 2024, it felt unnecessary and devalued his run with a U.S. title he barely defended.

Calling his shot in 2025 for the World Heavyweight Championship, he feels the least ready to carry gold with fans barely interested in his potential anymore.

This is a waste of Uso's first title defense when he needed a veteran like AJ Styles, Finn Bálor or even the missing Sheamus to help give him a good match and solidify his "top guy" status.

At the very least, Uso should work with someone on a hotter trajectory like Sami Zayn or Penta while he builds the resume needed for challenges from CM Punk, Seth Rollins and more in the future.

Becky Lynch Must Dethrone Lyra Valkyria at Backlash

Becky Lynch does not need to be women's intercontinental champion for her own legacy, but that title needs a champion like The Man to elevate its prestige.

Much like her run with the NXT Women's Championship in 2023—ended by the woman she is now feuding with—she can go on a run with the gold and compete with a variety of names across Raw and SmackDown.

Lynch chose to work with Lyra Valkyria again because of her respect for The Valkyrie, and she could simply put over the champion.

However, this story makes no sense to lead to a simple one-and-done contest.

It should take a similar focus to Bianca Belair's rivalry with Lynch that began in 2021 where she pushes a new competitor to elevate her game to eventually defeat her down the road on a major stage.

Valkyria has already elevated her game in recent months, but she is nowhere near Lynch's level yet. A long-term rivalry is better for everyone and only continues with The Man winning gold at Backlash.

Perfect Time For Giulia Call-Up to Main Roster

WWE has relied on Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer since WrestleMania, but while the latter still needs to complete her story in NXT, the former has a clearer direction on Raw.

Beyond a follow-up match with Vaquer for the NXT Women's Championship, Giulia should focus on the main roster and team with Roxanne Perez regularly.

The Prodigy is a rising star WWE is already relying upon. Her match with Rhea Ripley this week was a sign of things to come, a competitive battle that helped both stars shine.

Giulia has a similar ability in the ring to elevate her competition. NXT hardly needs her with a loaded young roster eager for opportunities.

This is the right time to transition The Beautiful Madness to Raw and formally draft her to a red brand in need of fresh talent.

WWE Fumbling Women's Tag Team Division…Again

Monday Night RAW

WWE has never found a strong foundation for the women's tag team division.

It took too long over the past year to crown Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez as women's tag team champions, and it looks like their new reign will be delayed.

A hiatus for Morgan puts WWE's most misused titles on hiatus as well, and that is the worst option for the entire division.

Knowing Morgan would disappear from television for a while, it makes no sense for her to win the tag team gold back on the Raw after WrestleMania.

If the goal was just to turn Becky Lynch on Lyra Valkyria, any other women's tag team could have beaten the two former friends.

In fact, Tatum Paxley and Gigi Dolin had a title match pending that would have been a perfect opportunity for the change, giving exposure to two of NXT's recent workhorses.

There is no reason to completely get rid of the titles, but WWE needs to rethink its strategy for the entire women's tag team division again.

Morgan and Rodriguez should have multiple challengers lined up upon her return.
