The Big 12 has been the deepest league in men's college basketball all season.
Three-fourths of the conference's 10 teams could land spots in the NCAA men's basketball tournament.
The depth across the board should give the Big 12 tournament some of the best games of any power conference during Championship Week.
Bill Self's Kansas Jayhawks are once again the top seed in Kansas City, but that does not guarantee they will cut down the nets inside the Sprint Center.
Kansas has only won three of the last eight Big 12 tournament titles. Three of the winners in that span have been the No. 4 or No. 5 seed.
The other strong programs in the league could use a win over Kansas, or a championship, as a springboard to success in the Big Dance.

Bracket Predictions
1. Kansas
2. Baylor
3. Texas
4. Kansas State
5. TCU
6. Oklahoma State
7. Iowa State
8. West Virginia
9. Texas Tech
10. Oklahoma
Kansas secured the regular-season crown and the No. 1 seed in the Big 12 tournament through the TCU Horned Frogs' win over the Texas Longhorns on Tuesday.
The Jayhawks hold a two-game lead over the Baylor Bears, Kansas State Wildcats and Texas going into the regular-season finales on Saturday. Two of those teams will end up on the opposite end of Kansas in the Big 12 tournament bracket.
Baylor has the easiest path to the No. 2 seed since it faces a struggling Iowa State Cyclones team on Saturday. The Bears were the No. 2 seed a year ago and lost in their first game in Kansas City.
Kansas State faces a tough road trip on Saturday against the West Virginia Mountaineers, and Texas finishes with Kansas.
K-State could drop to the No. 4 seed with a loss to West Virginia and into one of the most difficult opening games in any conference tournament.
The Big 12 is the top-rated conference on KenPom, and a No. 4-versus-No. 5 quarterfinal would be one of the most level matchups you can find at the quarterfinal round of any tournament.
TCU will be the likely opponent for the No. 4 seed, and it could be the most dangerous team in the tournament as the No. 5 seed.
The Horned Frogs won three of their last four games, and they are getting healthier at the right time with guard Mike Miles back on the floor.
Jamie Dixon's team beat Kansas inside Allen Fieldhouse and lost the return game by five points. TCU could be the squad that knocks out the Jayhawks in Kansas City in the semifinals.
Before TCU and the other top-six teams in the Big 12 take the floor, there will be some drama in the opening night of contests.
ESPN's Joe Lunardi listed West Virginia on his "Last Four Byes" line, the Oklahoma State Cowboys on the "First Four Out" line and the Texas Tech Red Raiders in the "Next Four Out" group in his bracket update on Wednesday.
Texas Tech and West Virginia could face each other in the No.8-versus-No. 9 first-round contest. The Red Raiders would have to win that game to keep their bleak NCAA tournament hopes alive.
West Virginia can't afford a first-round loss in Kansas City in case other bubble teams produce better conference tournament results, or bid thieves emerge in mid-major leagues.
Oklahoma State can beat Texas Tech on Saturday and land in the No. 6 seed by way of two head-to-head wins over Iowa State, who is trending downward with six losses in the last seven games.
The Cowboys probably need one big win in Kansas City to feel safe about their March Madness prospects.
Oklahoma State could have some extra motivation to win in Kansas City because it sat out last year as part of a one-year postseason ban. It has the potential to make some noise if it gets back on track with a win over Texas Tech on Saturday.
Kansas will be viewed as the favorite to cut down the nets in Kansas City, but recent history suggests other top seeds have a better chance of landing in the final.
Only two of the last five Big 12 tournament championships featured the No. 1 seed, and Kansas may be susceptible to an upset by TCU or Kansas State, or even Baylor or Texas, if the Bears or Longhorns drop into the No. 4.
If anything, the Big 12 tournament will serve as a great test for Kansas, and the other national championship contenders in the conference, as a warm-up for March Madness because there are so many high-caliber teams in the league.
