NASCAR Cup Series Ambetter Health 400

After a few late crashes, Christopher Bell emerged victorious in overtime at the NASCAR Cup Series Ambetter Health 400 at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Sunday.

Bell was declared the winner after being in first place when a caution flag came out in overtime. He edged out Carson Hocevar and Kyle Larson for the victory. The full results of Sunday's race can be found here.

It's Bell's 10th career Cup Series win and his first since June of last year. There were 50 lead changes during the contest.

The race featured multiple crashes that took out some big names.

With just five laps remaining, Austin Cindric attempted to pass Larson for first place but crashed into the wall before colliding with William Byron and taking him out of the race as well. The late wreck forced overtime.

Earlier in the day, Chase Elliott and Brad Keselowski were involved in a wreck that eliminated them from the race.

Daniel Suarez, who won in Atlanta last February, spun out to fall out of contention.

Ryan Blaney, who won the pole position on Saturday, spun out with less than 30 laps to go, though he was able to avoid disaster and return to the race.

The 2025 NASCAR season will continue next Sunday with the EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.

Malcolm In the Middle' Star Frankie Muniz: 'Amazing' to Get 1st Top-10 NASCAR Finish

Julia Stumbaugh

NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Fr8 208

Former “Malcolm in the Middle” star Frankie Muniz told TMZ Sports it felt “amazing” to get the first top-10 finish of his NASCAR career.

"Obviously, to get a top 10 is something that I had really hoped as a goal for this season, and to do it in the first race, it just re-motivates to keep going for more,” Muniz told TMZ Sports.

Muniz was originally granted an 11th-place finish on Feb. 14 in his full-time professional debut at the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season opener in Daytona.

The disqualification of Parker Kligerman allowed him to move up the standings and claim the first top-ten finish of his NASCAR career.

Muniz began racing in 2004 and drove in his first professional race in 2006. He announced last October he would become a full-time driver of the No. 33 F-150 during the 2025 Truck Series.

He told NBC Sports' Logan Reardon earlier this month that his goal for his first full-time professional season was a top-20 finish in the field of 36 drivers.

"Anybody in the top 20 in points in the Truck Series is phenomenal and has a chance to win those races. So, my goal is to be in the top 20," Muniz told Reardon. "That would be a really good goal for us and for me."

Last Friday's 10th-place finish took Muniz one step closer to that goal despite marking his first DNF of the season after crashing out on Saturday in Atlanta.

NASCAR Cup Series Ambetter Health 400 - Qualifying

Blaney was in a celebratory mood Saturday after besting the field, as he earned the right to start on the inside of Row 1 on Sunday:

The 31-year-old veteran won the points title in 2023 and finished second last season, and he enters Sunday's race in search of his second career win at Atlanta after previously securing a victory in 2021.

While Blaney clearly has a fast car, he will be faced with a ton of high-quality competition Sunday based on how tight the qualifying was.

Ad Placeholder

Blaney's toughest opponent may be Joey Logano, who has won at Atlanta in each of the past two seasons and won his third career points title last season.

The 34-year-old Logano was the fastest driver in the first round of qualifying Saturday, and he actually set a record for the fastest qualifying lap ever at Atlanta under its current configuration with a time of 30.892 seconds:

While that was enough to earn Logano one of the 10 spots in the final round of qualifying, he wasn't able to repeat the feat and had to settle for starting fourth.

Other past Atlanta winners in the field include Kyle Busch, Brad Keselowski, William Byron, Chase Elliott, Daniel Suárez and Denny Hamlin.

Of that group, only Busch and Keselowski reached the final round of qualifying, which suggests the others have plenty of work to do.

Byron, who won at Atlanta in both 2022 and 2023 and is coming off his second consecutive Daytona 500 win, will start right around the middle of the field in 16th.

The Ambetter Health 400 is set to start Sunday at 3 p.m. ET, and it will air on Fox with driver cam streaming available on Max.

Frankie Muniz Schedule Set for NASCAR Truck Series and 'Malcolm in the Middle' Reunion

NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Fresh from Florida 250 - Qualifying

Actor Frankie Muniz has a busy schedule to balance as he films a Malcolm in the Middle reunion while also driving in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for the 2025 season.

Fox Sports' Bob Pockrass reported that filming for the reunion series begins in April. Muniz is set to shoot scenes from Sunday through Wednesday and then go to the racetrack and compete in the Truck Series from Thursday through Saturday.

The 39-year-old is starting his first year as a full-time driver for Reaume Brothers Racing, finishing at No. 10 in the fifth NASCAR Truck Series start of his career on Friday.

Muniz told Pockrass that he "couldn't ask for anything better" after the race.

"I know I have to prove myself here," Muniz said. "Last year, I didn't have the opportunity to do that. And not that this fully does that, right? This is great. This is a step. Hopefully, I earn respect."

He previously raced full-time in the ARCA Menards Series during the 2023 season, finishing at No. 4 in the standings. Muniz also participated in eight races that included ARCA, Truck Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series competition in 2024.

The next stop on the Truck Series schedule is the Fr8 208, which will take place at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Saturday.

NASCAR Daytona 500 2025 Results: Winner, Standings, Highlights and Reaction

NASCAR Cup Series Daytona 500

It's back-to-back Daytona 500 wins for William Byron.

The Hendrick Motorsports driver took home the checkered flag in a chaotic 500-mile race on Sunday, surviving a handful of late wrecks to claim his 14th win.

Byron finished first, followed by Tyler Reddick, Jimmie Johnson, Chase Briscoe and John Hunter Nemechek. The full leaderboard can be found here.

The Great American Race had a bit of a slow start, as rain brought out the caution flags just nine laps in. Eventually, the rain intensified and the race was red-flagged. Once cars were finally back on the track, the rain picked back up and cars had to return to pit road on Lap 21.

Eventually, the rain subsided, but things weren't much prettier as Stage 1 ended under caution with Joey Lagano leading the way. Stage 2 also saw some chaos as Chase Briscoe, Ross Chastain, John Hunter Nemechek, Kyle Busch, Riley Herbst, Martin Truex Jr., Jimmie Johnson and Helio Castroneves and a few other drivers were involved in a wreck.

It was a mostly clean Stage 3 until the final 20 laps. A crash broke out on Lap 186, taking out several drivers who were in contention for the win.

With just five laps to go, more chaos ensued. Christopher Bell took a hit in the back as he was trying to take the lead from Denny Hamlin, and it led to him taking out a handful of other drivers. Ryan Preece in the No. 60 car got the worst of it with his car flipping in the process.

Because the race had a late caution, it went into overtime, giving the drivers two laps once the race resumed.

If two wrecks in the final 16 laps weren't enough, one more crash occurred on the final lap. Hamlin led the group and was trying to separate himself, but he got turned around and went horizontal, taking out much of the pack. Byron avoided the wreckage in the third lane and rounded out the final straightaway to win the race.

After the win, fans praised Byron for coming away with the victory amid a chaotic finish.

Byron matched his best finish in the NASCAR Cup Series a year ago when he finished third in the standings, but he's looking for his first victory this time around. Picking up a win in the first race of the season certainly helps.

NASCAR Daytona 500 2025 Odds: Kyle Busch, Ryan Blaney, Denny Hamlin Among Favorites

Timothy Rapp

AUTO: FEB 13 NASCAR Cup Series Daytona 500 Duels

Kyle Busch has never won the Daytona 500, one of the rare blemishes on an otherwise impressive career résumé. But oddsmakers believe Sunday could be the day to end that drought.

According to DraftKings Sportsbooks, Busch is the favorite to win the 2025 Daytona 500 (+900), followed by Ryan Blaney, Denny Hamlin, Chase Elliott and Bubba Wallace (all +1100).

Busch is also attempting to end a 57-race winless streak

"You’ve got to win, right?" he told reporters this week. "And unfortunately, we weren't able to win last year. So being able to get back to victory lane, being able to build on some consistency, getting those top-five, top-10s, getting that number higher than what it was this year is definitely paramount. We had a rough summer last year, had a lot of DNFs in that stretch that kind of brought us outside the playoff and being able to get ourselves in contention."

Meanwhile, last year's winner, William Byron, will carry somewhat longer odds (+1700) to win on Sunday. He and his crew had some car issues to iron out ahead of the race, though he felt confident his car was in good shape heading into the race:

Then there is Hamlin, who has the most Daytona 500 wins among active drivers with three. Another victory at the race would put him in rarefied air—only Cale Yarborough (1968, 1977, 1983, 1984) and Richard Petty (1964, 1966, 1971, 1973, 1974, 1979, 1981) have ever won the race four or more times.

Hamlin has remained humble regarding his past wins at the race, however.

"I want to remind everyone that I've ran 40 races at Daytona, and I've only won three of them," he joked with reporters this week. "If you look at it from a win-loss perspective, it's horrendous. But in our sport, they

NASCAR Duel 2025 Results: Daytona 500 Starting Lineup After Qualifying Race

NASCAR Cup Series Duel 1 at Daytona

NASCAR Cup Series drivers competed for positioning in Sunday's Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway on Thursday night.

Drivers participated in a pair of Duel races to determine their starting positions. Duel No. 1 gave drivers the opportunity to compete for spots on the inside lane and Duel No. 2 determined the order of the Daytona 500 outside lane.

Bubba Wallace won Duel No. 1, while 2022 Daytona 500 winner Austin Cindric emerged victorious in Duel No. 2.

Prior to Thursday's qualifying, Chase Briscoe clinched pole position in the “Great American Race" by posting the fastest lap time in Wednesday night’s qualifying session. Cindric previously clinched a spot on the front row by finishing with the second-fastest time as well.

Wallace secured the No. 3 position in Sunday's race by winning Duel No. 1, leading six times for 20 laps in his No. 23 Toyota. This included the final three laps.

“I’ve wanted one of these Duel wins for so long, all my buddies have got them,” Wallace said afterwards, via Yahoo Sports' Nick Bromberg.

A multi-car crash occurred on the 14th lap involving Chandler Smith, Justin Haley, Ty Gibbs and Hélio Castroneves.

Castroneves, a four-time Indianapolis 500 champion, will still be participating in the Dayton 500 despite the wreck due to the Open Exemption Provisional. The provisional, which NASCAR granted, was designed to give world-class drivers that are not full-time NASCAR competitors a chance to compete.

Duel No. 2 required a photo finish, with Cindric narrowly edging out Erik Jones. Cindric and Jones appeared to take the checkered flag at the same time, but a caution flag was thrown just before.

Following a video review, Cindric was declared the winner as his No. 2 Ford was mere inches ahead of Jones' No. 43 Toyota once the caution was thrown.

Cindric already held the No. 2 spot in Sunday's race due to his performance in Wednesday's qualifying session, but he received extra regular-season points for the victory.

Chris Buescher, Joey Logano and Denny Hamlin finished within the top five in Duel No. 2 to clinch starting spots within the Daytona 500 top 10.

Sunday's race will begin at 2:30 p.m. ET.

The NASCAR Cup Series got off to an exciting start with the Cookout Clash at Bowman Gray on Sunday.

A battle between Chase Elliott, Ryan Blaney and Denny Hamlin ultimately saw Elliott come out victorious in the short-track race. Blaney was in striking distance in the final laps but didn't have enough time to mount the comeback to get the win.

Elliott started in the top position thanks to a tremendous showing in the qualifying heats, and getting that kind of start is always important in a race that features a track as small as the one at Bowman Gray.

Elliott led for 171 of 200 laps and had the fastest lap of the race. Hamlin was in the mix for much of the race, leading for 28 laps, but it was mostly between Elliott and Blaney towards the end.

Elliott dominated the race through and through and held off a late comeback from Blaney, leading to high praise for the driver on social media afterward.

Elliott had a decent year last season, finishing seventh in the Cup Series standings, but he's hoping for a better finish this time around. The Clash at Bowman Gray won't give him any points in the Cup Series as it was just an exhibition, and his first chance to pick up points will come at the Dayton 500 on Feb. 16.

Still, he has to feel good about himself heading into the Great American Race later this month.

The NASCAR Cup series is back in 2025 with the Cook Out Clash, as qualifying took place on Saturday at Bowman Gray Stadium.

Chase Elliott secured pole position for Sunday night's 200-lap race by winning Heat 1, overcoming a physical start to emerge victorious. It was an impressive day for Elliott, as he previously earned the top spot in the first heat by clocking the fastest lap of the timed practice session.

Denny Hamlin, the defending Cook Out Clash winner, will start Sunday's race at No. 3 after winning Heat 3.

Here's the full starting lineup following Saturday's action.

Cook Out Clash Lineup

  1. Chase Elliott
  2. Chris Buescher
  3. Denny Hamlin
  4. Tyler Reddick
  5. Brad Keselowski
  6. Chase Briscoe

Elliott took Heat 1 and Hamlin emerged victorious in Heat 3, while Buescher earned the No. 2 spot in Sunday's race by winning Heat 2.

Reddick also clinched a top-four start in the Cook Out Clash by winning Heat 4.

There weren't many surprises in each of the 25-lap heat races, as all four drivers started their respective races in pole position before securing their wins.

Elliott, the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series champion, acknowledged his pole position on social media.

Ryan Preece was able to clinch a spot in Sunday's lineup despite starting Heat 4 in the No. 6 spot. Preece and John Hunter Nemechek battled throughout the race before the No. 60 car made an aggressive move to jump in front.

Preece finished the Heat race at No. 3, securing his Cook Out Clash spot.

There was some more aggression in Heat 4, as AJ Allmendinger squeezed Cole Custer into the wall and sent Custer's car spinning while the two battled for a transfer spot. Allmendinger and Custer finished No. 7 and No. 9 in their heat, respectively.

For drivers that missed the initial cut such as Allmendinger and Custer, they'll still have a chance to earn a spot in Sunday's race by finishing with one of the top two spots in the Last Chance Qualifier.

There's also an available spot that will be rewarded to the driver ranked highest in the 2024 standings who wasn't able to transfer.

Ryan Blaney, who will compete in the Last Chance Qualifier, has the most 2024 points of the 19 drivers vying for a Cook Out Clash spot.

Action continues on Sunday, with the Last Chance Qualifier kicking things off at 6 p.m. ET.

The 200-lap race is then set to commence at 8 p.m. ET.

Lewis Hamilton Uninjured After 'Minor Crash' During Ferrari F1 Preseason Testing

Formula 1 Racing star Lewis Hamilton's move from Mercedes to Ferrari got off to a bit of a bumpy start.

During a preseason testing session in Barcelona on Wednesday, Hamilton had a minor crash, though he suffered no injuries and is reportedly "doing well." F1 journalist Scott Mitchell-Malm reported that the crash occurred when he made contact with the barriers, but the damage caused can be fixed on Wednesday.

A seven-time world champion and arguably the greatest racer in F1 history, Hamilton started his professional career with McLaren in 2007 before joining Mercedes in 2013. He signed with Ferrari last winter on a multi-year contract starting with the 2025 season.

Upon joining Ferrari, Hamilton said he was fulfilling a "childhood dream" by following in the footsteps of racing legend Michael Schumacher.

"You go to the Italian Grand Prix and you see the sea of red Ferrari fans and you can only stand in awe of that. It's a team that's not had huge success recently, since 2007, and I saw it as a huge challenge," Hamilton said at the time. "Without a doubt, even as a kid, I used to play [on games] as Michael in that car, so it definitely is a dream and I'm really, really excited about it."

According to Luke Smith of The Athletic, Hamilton visited Ferrari's factory in Maranello, Italy, last week and participated in a short test run at its Fiorano test track. His minor crash on Wednesday occurred in the team's 2023 F1 car as part of a three-day test at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

F1's testing regulations allow teams to conduct 1,000km of private test running per year with their race drivers while using a car at least two years old. Smith noted that Hamilton is expected to make his first public appearance as a Ferrari driver at the F1 season launch event at The O2 on Feb. 18 before sampling his 2025 car for the first time during a short private run at Fiorano on Feb. 19.

Hamilton will get used to life as a Ferrari driver during F1's official pre-season test running in Bahrain from Feb. 26-28. He will then make his official debut for Ferrari in the season-opening Australian Grand Prix on March 16.
