Terrell Owens has six Pro Bowl selections, five All-Pro nods and three different seasons when he led the league in touchdown receptions on his Hall of Fame resume.

Now he has a touchdown in Fan Controlled Football as well.

While Owens' Zappers lost 20-12 in Saturday's game against the Shoulda Been Stars, his presence on the field was the biggest storyline. After all, it's not every day someone who is third on the NFL's all-time list with 15,934 receiving yards and 153 touchdown catches lines up for a team named the Zappers.

His touchdown came right near the end of the game after his team had fallen behind by multiple scores, but he looked the part of a Hall of Famer by elevating and high-pointing a pass in the end zone.

Yet even before he found the end zone, the all-time great was filling the role of veteran leader with his new teammates:

He also already has his eye on improving for the next contest:

Owens suited up for the San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals from 1996 through 2010 during a legendary career and believed he could still play in the NFL as recently as last year.

The 48-year-old told TMZ Sports in August, "There's no doubt, 100 percent, that I can play in the National Football League today."

That may be a stretch at this point, but he is at least providing some star power to the Fan Controlled Football league. He's not the only one either, as former Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel is one of the team owners.

If Owens continues to haul in touchdowns like he did in Saturday's season opener, he will remain appointment viewing in the league.

Report: Terrell Owens Joins Fan Controlled Football, Will Play with Johnny Manziel

Pro Football Hall of Famer Terrell Owens will return to competitive action with Fan Controlled Football in 2022, according to Reuters' Frank Pingue.

Pingue reported the 48-year-old will likely suit up for the Zappers, who include 2012 Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel. Owens last played in the NFL with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2010.

Per Pingue, the six-time Pro Bowler "is in great shape and wants to show he can still play at a high level."

Fan Controlled Football will reportedly make full use of Owens' boisterous persona and have him wear a microphone and helmet camera during games. He'll also conduct interviews when he isn't suiting up for games.

Fan Controlled Football had its inaugural season in 2021. The competition offers a change of pace from a traditional football game by shrinking the field to 50 yards and only having seven players on each side. Fans also have input on which plays are called.

The now-defunct Wild Aces were crowned champions in 2021 after Ed Crouch scored the game-winning touchdown as time expired in the title game.

T.O. will be the biggest name to play in Fan Controlled Football, which featured Josh Gordon, Shawn Oakman, Deondre Francois and Robert Turbin during the 2021 campaign.

Owens, who was enshrined in the Hall of Fame in 2018, is eighth all-time in NFL history in receptions (1,078) and third in receiving yards (15,934).

If Johnny Manziel has his way, you'll soon see him back as part of the Texas A&M football program.

The 2012 Heisman winner says he wants to get back involved in football, despite acknowledging his NFL career is over.

"I don't think I'm the same player I used to be," Manziel told TMZ Sports. "I think I still have flashes, but I'm looking at what's next in my life and I want sports and football to be something that is gonna be a mainstay in my life for a long time.

"Now, it's figuring out where exactly that's gonna be—whether it's continuing to work with the FCF or something I'm really interested in as well is going back to Texas A&M and being a part of my school, or the program or whatever it is."

Manziel is currently set to return to the Fan Controlled Football league for a second season in 2022. The fledgling indoor league allows fans to take part in calling plays and making replay decisions, among other rule changes to keep them involved in the in-game process.

Manziel is perhaps the biggest name attached to the FCF's on-field product and says he hopes to potentially get into coaching someday—whether that's in the FCF or at Texas A&M.

"I miss my school, I miss College Station, I miss the feeling of those great times that I got to have when I was in college," Manziel said.

Manziel, 29, played at Texas A&M from 2011 to 2013, winning the Heisman during his redshirt freshman season and becoming the face of college football at the time. After declaring for the 2014 NFL draft, Manziel was a first-round pick of the Cleveland Browns but lasted only two seasons amid poor play and several off-field incidents.

No NFL team has signed him since his release from Cleveland in 2016. He's since played for the CFL, the defunct Alliance of American Football and the FCF.

Johnny Manziel will be back on the football field in 2022.

The Fan Controlled Football League announced Manziel is returning for a second season this year. The seven-on-seven league is scheduled to resume games on April 16 in an Atlanta indoor facility.

He also announced his decision to TMZ Sports prior to the league's official confirmation.

Manziel told ESPN's Kevin Seifert that he is no longer pursuing a return to the NFL because he believes his traditional football career "in my eyes is over." He called the FCF something he "wanted to do for fun."

Fan Controlled Football brings the traditional game into the world of esports. The league is broadcast mainly on Twitch and incorporates fan engagement into its games.

"This is a way to go out and compete and have fun on a way smaller scale," Manziel said. "I don't have the drive to play football at a high level anymore. I don't have a drive to be the best football player anymore that I used to have in my life, and I'm OK with that."

Manziel is known for his Heisman Trophy-winning season at Texas A&M in 2012. The 29-year-old was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the first round of the 2014 draft, but his NFL career lasted just two years.

He had a stint in the CFL in 2018 with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Montreal Alouettes. Manziel signed with the AAF's Memphis Express in 2019. He played the 2021 FCF season for the Zappers.

The FCF has expanded from four to eight teams for the 2022 season. Some of the league's celebrity owners include NFL players Dalvin Cook, Austin Ekeler, Richard Sherman and retired Marshawn Lynch.

Johnny Manziel Reportedly in Talks to Rejoin Fan Controlled Football League

Former NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel is reportedly in discussions to re-sign with the Fan Controlled Football league ahead of its second season.

Sources told TMZ Sports on Saturday they "feel confident" Manziel, who made three appearances for the Zappers last season, will play at least a few FCF games in 2022. He hinted toward playing for the Wild Aces under their new owner, comedian Druski.

"Only coming out of retirement for [Druski] and Shoulda Been Athletics," Manziel wrote Friday on Instagram, per TMZ.

His play with the Zappers last year marked his first football action since he was with the AAF's Memphis Express in 2019. He's also made stops with the CFL's Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Montreal Alouettes since his NFL career ended in early 2016.

Manziel completed 14 of his 27 passes attempts for 133 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions for the Zappers. He added 104 rushing yards and two scores on the ground.

The 29-year-old Texas native was once among the sport's most coveted quarterback prospects after a standout college career at Texas A&M, which was highlighted by becoming the first freshman to win the Heisman Trophy in 2012.

He was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the first round of the 2014 draft, but his NFL career never panned out, in large part because of off-field problems.

In February 2021, as Manziel prepared to join the FCF, he told Josh Peter of USA Today it wasn't an attempt to make an NFL comeback.

"Even if I got an opportunity to go back to the NFL, I don't think I would take it," he said. "I don't think it's my path. I don't think it's what's meant to be. I think there are a million other avenues and things I can do in life."

Instead, Manziel explained it was more of a business venture that included playing some casual football.

"This is just an opportunity that got presented to me to get around a bunch of good guys who I feel like we'll make great business connections with and I'll have a lot of fun while I’m doing it," he told Peter.

His NFL days are a thing of the past, but there's still interest every time "Johnny Football" steps on a football field, which is good news for the FCF.

Pitt QB Kenny Pickett Is 'A Good Version of' Johnny Manziel, Says NFL Exec

There is no clear favorite to be the first quarterback taken in the 2022 NFL draft, but Pittsburgh's Kenny Pickett has impressed scouts.

One AFC executive provided an interesting comparison, telling Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated: "He's a good version of Johnny Football—better frame, head on shoulders and arm, and he's a better leader."

Johnny Manziel (6'0", 207 lbs) was a first-round pick in 2014 out of Texas A&M, but he only lasted two seasons and eight starts in the NFL.

The executive continued: "Athletic, gutsy. … Kind of hit the scene hard out of nowhere like [Joe] Burrow and balled out. Love the kid. He's got the it factor. Kid has balls. … We have a ways to go, but definitely if the draft was today, he would be [the first quarterback] taken."

The 6'3", 220-pound senior enters the bowl season with 4,319 passing yards and 42 touchdowns against seven interceptions in 13 games, adding 233 rushing yards and five touchdowns on the ground.

Pickett also led Pittsburgh to an ACC title and an appearance in the Peach Bowl while finishing third in voting for the Heisman Trophy.

He turned heads during the ACC Championship Game with a fake slide that led to a rushing touchdown:

Despite his production and highlight-reel plays, there could be some concern of him being a one-year wonder after never topping 13 touchdown passes in any of his previous four seasons at Pittsburgh.

For recent similar examples, Joe Burrow has played well in the NFL after just one year of college dominance, but the jury is still out on 2020 breakout star Zach Wilson.

It leaves a wide-open race for the top quarterback in the 2022 class, with Cincinnati's Desmond Ridder, Liberty's Malik Willis and Ole Miss' Matt Corral the other top contenders.

Former NFL quarterback and 2012 Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel's divorce from model Bre Tiesi was finalized in a California court earlier in November, TMZ Sports reported Tuesday.

"We spoke with Bre, who said the two are 'still cool' with each other and speak often...and she wishes him nothing but the best," TMZ wrote.

Tiesi filed for divorce from Manziel in Dec. 2019, per TMZ. The couple started dating in 2016 and were married in 2018 before splitting one year later.

"This is all very, very personal and very sad," Manziel told TMZ in 2019 regarding the split.

"I appreciate everyone who has been so supportive of both of us, and I would just ask that everyone respect our privacy at this difficult time."

"My hope is to put my head down and be allowed to focus on work and what is required of me on the football field."

At the time, Manziel was coming off a stint with the Memphis Express in the now-defunct AAF.

Tiesi also previously accused Manziel of infidelity.

"u been married? U been betrayed? I don't do betrayal for a person I was devoted to period. Vows were broken f--k money and f--k u and every other loser on here," she wrote in an Instagram comment.

Manziel played the 2014 and 2015 seasons for the Browns before being released. The ex-Texas A&M star has since made sporadic appearances in the CFL, AAF and FCF.
