Miami quarterback Cam Ward has joined some elite company.

In the Hurricanes 42-14 victory over Wake Forest, the senior quarterback broke Bernie Kosar's program record for passing yards in a single season. This feat saw Kosar himself take to X to celebrate Ward.

Fans took to social media to praise Ward for breaking Kosar's record and hyped up his Heisman candidacy.

Ward finished the day 27-of-38 for 280 yards with two touchdowns and one interception while also adding a touchdown on the ground.

The Hurricanes produced 508 total offensive yards and limited the Demon Deacons to just 193. Jordan Lyle paced the rushing attack with seven carries for 115 yards and a touchdown. Jacolby George was the top receiver with seven catches for 91 yards and two touchdowns.

Miami's improves to 10-1 with the victory and will head to Syracuse next week to close out the season. This redemption performance came after the team dropped its previous game against Georgia Tech, but the push for a conference championship and a berth in the College Football Playoff is officially back with the win over the Demon Deacons.

Miami quarterback Cam Ward knows that life in the pocket can be much easier when your blockers are happy.

Ward recently gifted diamond chains and pendants to Hurricanes offensive linemen:

A quarterback buying extravagant gifts for their linemen is nothing new. For obvious reasons, the tradition has typically been limited to the NFL. Now that college stars are earning six- or even seven-figure paydays, more O-linemen are getting to benefit.

While the full extent of his off-field earnings is unclear, Ward has the eighth-highest NIL valuation ($2.1) among all college and high school athletes at On3. Adidas, EA Sports and Bose are among his endorsements.

The senior signal-caller certainly has a lot to be thankful for. He's the FBS leader in passing yards (3,494) and touchdown passes (32), and he remains an outside threat to win the Heisman Trophy.

Ward has also put himself in the conversation to be a first-round pick in the 2025 NFL draft. In Bleacher Report's most recent mock, he was projected to go fifth overall to the Cleveland Browns.

Beyond what he's doing on the field, Ward's act of generosity toward his linemen is the kind of thing NFL talent evaluators will probably notice too.

Cam Ward's Heisman Campaign Takes Hit Among CFB Fans as No. 4 Miami Gets Upset By GT

Miami is undefeated no more.

Georgia Tech handed the No. 4 Hurricanes their first loss of the season on Saturday, holding off a late push to beat Miami 28-23.

The Canes have narrowly avoided upsets against Virginia Tech, Cal and Louisville so far this year, but didn't have enough to keep their hopes of a perfect season alive on Saturday.

Miami trailed 28-16 heading into the final seven minutes of the fourth quarter, but Cam Ward led the Hurricanes down the field to make it 28-23. Miami's defense put the ball back in Ward's hands to try to take the lead with less than two minutes to play, but a strip-sack from the Yellow Jackets sealed the win.

Ward was arguably the frontrunner for the Heisman Trophy coming into the game, but fans on social media declared that his chances took a hit with the upset.

Despite the loss, it was still an outstanding day for Ward, who finished with 348 passing yards and three touchdowns. He's now up to 3,494 passing yards, 32 touchdowns and six interceptions on the year.

His Heisman hopes aren't completely shot with the loss, but it will be hard to make a case against top players like Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty and Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter.

Miami still has the chance to both win the ACC and earn a spot in the College Football Playoff. The Hurricanes have a relatively easy path moving forward as they'll face Wake Forest and Syracuse to close out the year and would likely secure their CFP fate by winning out thanks to a more forgiving 12-team format.

Cam Ward Shines as CFB Fans Hype QB's Heisman Campaign After No. 5 Miami Beats Duke

Miami quarterback Cam Ward has put his Heisman campaign back on track.

The 22-year-old helped steer the Hurricanes to a 53-31 victory over Duke to improve to 9-0 on the season.

The Hurricanes produced 527 total yards and possessed the ball for over 30 minutes. The defense forced four Duke turnovers and limited the rushing attack to just 77 yards.

Hurricanes wide receiver Xavier Restrepo had a historic day after making eight catches for 146 yards and three touchdowns. He became the program's all-time leader in receiving yards, passing Santana Moss.

Ward had a pedestrian performance the week before against Florida State but his push for the Heisman was back on against the Blue Devils. He went 25-of-41 for 400 yards with five touchdowns and one interception.

Fans took to social media to hype his Heisman candidacy.

Ward is now up to 3,141 passing yards with 29 touchdowns and just six interceptions on the season and is the centerpiece of the Hurricanes undefeated team. That gives him quite the case for the Heisman, although others like Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty and Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter have excellent resumes of their own.

A non-quarterback hasn't won the award since 2020, and Ward's place as the star quarterback for a team with national title hopes should only help his case to keep the Heisman with the quarterbacks.

He will have his next chance to show his ability next week when Miami heads to Georgia Tech.

Camdin, the son of former Miami Hurricanes and NFL star Clinton Portis, committed to Miami on Sunday evening, according to ESPN's Eli Lederman

The 4-star cornerback belongs to the 2026 class and is the third player from that class to commit to Mario Cristobal's team.

The junior from Myers Park High School in Charlotte, North Carolina, received several other offers before joining Cristobal's team, including those from Colorado, Florida, Tennessee, and Ohio State, among others.

Camdin, a 6-foot, 165-pound cornerback, recorded 18 tackles, 10 pass breakups, and two interceptions during his sophomore season, according to Lederman.

His father, Clinton, a former running back, played at Miami for three years from 1999 to 2001, winning the 2001 National Championship with the Hurricanes. He then transitioned to the NFL, where he spent nine years—seven with Washington and two with the Denver Broncos. He earned two Pro Bowl nods during his NFL career.

The Miami Hurricanes took no pity on a struggling Florida State program.

Miami jumped out to a 17-7 halftime lead and added on 19 more points in the second half to claim a 36-14 victory over the Seminoles and improve to 8-0 on the season.

The Hurricanes produced 445 offensive yards while limiting Florida State to just 248. They also possessed the ball for 35:23.

Damien Martinez had an explosive day in the backfield, dashing for 148 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries. Mark Fletcher added 71 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries as well.

Quarterback Cam Ward went 22-of-35 for 208 yards but made the highlight reel with a receiving touchdown on a trick play.

Fans took to social media to praise Ward's efficient day and promote his Heisman candidacy.

This was Miami's first win over Florida State in four seasons and the team looks like a true threat to claim the ACC's automatic bid into the College Football Playoff.

Florida State drops to 1-7 and have officially clinched a losing season.

The Hurricanes will look to improve to 9-0 in Week 10 when they host Duke.

Report: 'Multiple' Scouts Have Cam Ward as QB1 over Shedeur Sanders in 2025 NFL Draft

(Photo by Doug Murray/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images)

University of Miami quarterback and Heisman Trophy candidate Cam Ward has reportedly been making a positive impression on NFL talent evaluators this season.

According to ESPN's Matt Miller, "multiple" NFL scouts have Ward as the No. 1 quarterback in the 2025 NFL draft class ahead of the likes of Colorado's Shedeur Sanders, Georgia's Carson Beck, Texas' Quinn Ewers and Penn State's Drew Allar.

After starring for two seasons each at FCS Incarnate Word and Washington State, Ward transferred to Miami for the 2024 season, and that decision has paid dividends.

Playing for one of the most storied programs in college football, Ward has taken his game to the next level, completing 68.7 percent of his passes for an FBS-leading 2,538 yards and 24 touchdowns to go along with four interceptions and another 190 yards and three touchdowns on the ground.

On top of that, the Hurricanes are a perfect 7-0 and ranked No. 6 in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll.

Given his individual and team success, Ward is in the thick of the Heisman Trophy race along with Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty, Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel and Colorado cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter.

Entering the season, Sanders was arguably the player to beat in terms of being the top quarterback in the 2025 NFL draft, and he has had a strong year in his own right.

The son of Hall of Fame cornerback Deion Sanders has the Buffaloes off to a 5-2 start, and he is completing 72.2 percent of his passing attempts for 2,268 yards, 19 touchdowns and six picks, and has also rushed for a pair of scores.

Sanders isn't as athletic or dynamic as Ward, but he has shown himself to be a more accurate passer, which could potentially appeal to NFL teams.

However, if Ward continues on his current pace, gets Miami into the College Football Playoff and wins the Heisman, it will be tough for scouts and general managers to ignore.

The Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns, Carolina Panthers, New York Giants and Las Vegas Raiders are among the struggling NFL teams that could be in the market for a quarterback in the 2025 draft, and it seems like a strong bet that one of them will land Ward with a high pick.

Miami's Cam Ward, Adidas Agree to Footwear, Apparel NIL Contract amid Breakout Year

University of Miami quarterback Cam Ward announced Wednesday that he has entered into a partnership with Adidas.

According to ESPN's Nick DePaula, Ward agreed to a name, image and likeness (NIL) deal with Adidas for footwear and apparel, and the Heisman Trophy candidate commented on the move, saying: "It's an honor to partner with a brand that sees [my] drive and supports me as I help build the legacy Adidas Football is creating."

The 22-year-old Ward is thriving in his first season with the Hurricanes, who are off to a 7-0 start and ranked No. 6 in the nation.

After starring for two seasons each at FCS Incarnate Word and then Washington State, Ward transferred to Miami, and he has taken his game to the next level with the Canes.

So far this season, Ward is completing 68.7 percent of his passes for an FBS-leading 2,538 yards and 24 touchdowns to go along with five interceptions. He has also rushed for 190 yards and three scores.

Those numbers coupled with Miami's undefeated record have Ward in the thick of the Heisman race along with Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty, Colorado wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter and Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel.

Each of Miami's past three wins have been by one score and have seen Ward come through in the clutch to lead the Hurricanes over Virginia Tech, California and Louisville.

Along with Ward going for the Heisman and Miami trending toward a College Football Playoff berth, Ward is positioning himself for a fruitful professional career as well.

When the 2024 college football season started, Colorado's Shedeur Sanders, Georgia's Carson Beck and Texas' Quinn Ewers were most often named as the likely top quarterbacks in the 2025 NFL draft.

Ward wasn't in that discussion, but he has outplayed all of them this season and is undoubtedly in the running to be the No. 1 overall pick depending on which team secures that pick.

Should that happen, Adidas figures to get the most out of its working relationship with Ward since he would be among the most hyped young players in the NFL.

Cam Ward Gets More Heisman Hype from CFB Fans with Miami's Road Win vs. Louisville

Behind another electric performance from senior quarterback Cam Ward, the No. 6 Miami Hurricanes remained undefeated Saturday with a 52-45 win over the Louisville Cardinals at L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium in Louisville, Kentucky.

Ward maintained his status as one of the top Heisman Trophy contenders by virtue of going 21-of-32 for 319 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions, while also rushing for 29 yards.

Although Ward has plenty of competition for the top honor in college football from the likes of Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty, Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel and Colorado cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter, college football fans and experts hyped his chances based on his showing against Louisville:

In what was perhaps one of the wildest college football games of the 2024 season thus far, Ward thrived and oftentimes made up for breakdowns by Miami's defense and special teams.

Ward's first touchdown of the game came during the first quarter when he scrambled around and threw a 27-yard dart to Jacolby George in the back of the end zone:

He followed that up with a 49-yard scoring strike to Sam Brown Jr. in the second quarter, which contributed to the Canes taking a 24-17 lead into halftime.

In a wild third quarter that featured two touchdowns by each team, Ward threw his third touchdown pass of the game to Xavier Restrepo and his fourth to Isaiah Horton:

Due in large part to a fake punt that resulted in a fourth-down conversion, Louisville tied the game back up at 38-38 early in the fourth quarter, shifting the pressure back to Ward and the Miami offense:

The dual-threat quarterback was up to the task, orchestrated a pair of touchdown drives that culminated with a two-yard run by Ajay Allen and a 30-yard run by Damien Martinez to put the Hurricanes ahead 52-38:

There was a somewhat controversial play on the drive that ended with a Martinez touchdown, as it was initially ruled that Ward had fumbled and Louisville returned it for a tying touchdown.

However, after further review, it was determined that Ward's arm was moving forward, so the pass was ruled incomplete and Miami went on to score a touchdown that extended the lead to 14.

The Miami offense proved to be championship caliber once again Saturday, as it racked up 541 total yards and converted nine of 14 third-down attempts, but head coach Mario Cristobal has plenty to work on in the other phases.

Miami's defense allowed 470 total yards and let Louisville quarterback Tyler Shough put up big numbers with 342 passing yards, four touchdowns and no picks.

Additionally, the special teams unit let up a 100-yard kickoff return touchdown by Caullin Lacy in the third quarter, as well as a successful fake punt.

Even so, the Canes are 7-0 overall and 3-0 in ACC play, and they are in the driver's seat in terms of earning the ACC's automatic bid into the College Football Playoff.

The next chance for Miami to improve its record and Ward to build upon his Heisman case will come next Saturday against a struggling Florida State team.

Meanwhile, 4-3 Louisville will look to get back on track Friday in a road game against Boston College.

NFL Scout: Cam Ward "Leaves You Asking, 'What the Heck Was He Thinking There?'"

ESPN's Jordan Reid released the first edition of his 2025 QB Hot Board on Monday, and Miami quarterback Cam Ward was second on the list behind only Colorado's Shedeur Sanders.

His strong play this season—he's thrown for 2,219 yards, 20 touchdowns and five interceptions, completing 69.2 percent of his passes while leading the Hurricanes to a perfect 6-0 record and No. 6 overall ranking—combined with his electric playmaking ability has shot him up draft boards. He isn't a perfect prospect, however.

"He has times where he has to scratch his itch for reckless plays, and it leaves you asking, 'What the heck was he thinking there?'" an AFC area scout told Reid. "I like him and don't know if that can be coached out of him."

Gunslinger quarterbacks have had varied success at the NFL level, from superstars like Brett Favre, Patrick Mahomes (at least early in his career) and Josh Allen to players who didn't quite make it work (think Jameis Winston, Carson Wentz and Will Levis if he continues on his current path).

The defining feature of the gunslinger is letting it fly at any moment, odds of success be damned, often seeking the big play rather than taking the easy read within the structure of the offense. The players who make it work aren't consistently punished for the big risks they take, often due to unique physical gifts (Favre's rocket for an arm; Mahomes perfect blend of escapability, arm talent and creativity; Allen's size, scrambling and arm strength). The players who don't make it work end up being turnover machines.

Ward undoubtedly has some of that off-script, gunslinger DNA in his game, for better or worse. The NFL team that ultimately drafts him will hope he's more of an Allen than a Wentz.
