Former NFL wide receiver Terrell Owens, who spent three seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, had a message for Jerry Jones on Sunday: Fire Jason Garrett.

And he delivered that message while dressed up for Halloween:

"He needs to quit meddling," Owens told TMZ Sports after he put on a Halloween mask. "First of all, he needs to get rid of Jason Garrett. If he gets rid of Garrett, they definitely have an opportunity to go farther than they ever have. Other than that, man, that's all I can really say about Jerry Jones. Great owner; I just think he's in the cookie jar too much. He's handling too much."

In parts of 10 seasons, Garrett has led the Cowboys to an 81-62 record, though the team has made the playoffs just three times under his watch and has only won two postseason games.

Expectations remain high for the current iteration of the Cowboys, though after a 4-3 start to the season, questions persist regarding Garrett's job status and whether he's the right man to lead a talented Dallas roster.

Count TO among those who don't believe Garrett is up to the task.

The Dallas Cowboys dropped their third straight game Sunday with a 24-22 loss to the previously winless New York Jets.

Terrell Owens, who played for the Cowboys from 2006-08, is among those not happy. The Hall of Fame receiver called out owner Jerry Jones and head coach Jason Garrett on Twitter after the game while also telling them it's not too late to bring him back:

Dallas failed to convert a two-point conversion that would have tied the game with 43 seconds left in regulation when quarterback Dak Prescott's pass to tight end Jason Witten fell incomplete. The fact the Cowboys had a chance to tie was improbable in and of itself, as they had fallen behind 21-6 at halftime.

Owens took a shot at Witten, who came out of retirement to return to the Cowboys this season, too:

Former Cowboys quarterback and current CBS analyst Tony Romo also chimed in on how Garrett might be inhibiting the team:

When asked after the game about Garrett's future in Dallas, however, Jones said, per The Athletic's Jon Machota, "I'm not even coming close to those future type considerations."

Garrett took over as the Cowboys' full-time head coach in 2011 after serving as offensive coordinator from 2007 through 2010. With Garrett as head coach, Dallas has gone 80-62 in the regular season but just 2-3 in the postseason.

Dallas began 2019 with a 3-0 record and was as hot as any team in the league, but it hasn't looked like the same squad since.

The Cowboys will play the 3-3 Philadelphia Eagles next Sunday night, and the winner will sit atop the NFC East.

Terrell Owens on Antonio Brown: 'I Would Love to Talk to Him Personally'

Hall of Famer Terrell Owens offered to help Antonio Brown following Brown's release from the New England Patriots.

"I would love to talk to him personally," Owens said, per Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area. "We all go through life and we are going to make mistakes. They are going to be things that we look back upon. I am sure he will get to that point in his life but he has to do what's best for himself. I understand to a degree what he's doing and what's going on with him."

The Patriots announced Friday they had let Brown go.

The move came after a civil lawsuit filed by Brown's former trainer, who said Brown had sexually assaulted her on three occasions. Sports Illustrated's Robert Klemko also detailed a number of allegations against the seven-time Pro Bowler made by a second woman.

In one allegation reported on by SI, Brown walked up behind a woman he had paid to paint a mural of him. He was naked and holding a hand towel over his groin. Klemko wrote the woman "took it as a clear sexual come-on."

Days after the story was published, Klemko reported Brown sent the woman "menacing group text messages."

Owens addressed the allegations against Brown.

"Things keep coming out and by public opinion, they are automatically going to consider him guilty without due process," he said. "Other than that, that’s all I can say. That’s a friend of mine and anything and everything that happens with him I wish him well."

NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy released a statement Friday on Brown's status, confirming the league is "presently investigating multiple allegations." He added Brown isn't yet subject to the commissioner's exempt list since he's presently a free agent.

The league's final ruling may be moot after Brown tweeted Sunday he was done playing in the NFL:

Bleacher Report's Mike Freeman reported "several teams" believe the NFL's investigation could continue for most—if not all—of the 2019 season, thus hindering his chances of being signed by another team.

New England Patriots wide receiver Antonio Brown is one of many pass-catchers in NFL history with a flair for the dramatic, though his actions over these past couple of months may place him at the top of the list.

Former superstar wideout Terrell Owens is up there as well, but he told ESPN's Josina Anderson his displays don't compare to Brown's:

The Pro Football Hall of Famer's most notable events included touchdown celebrations involving a Sharpie, pom-poms and the Dallas Cowboys' midfield star; a driveway workout session in front of the media; and a midseason suspension from the 2005 Philadelphia Eagles that prematurely ended his career there.

Owens' career certainly had its dramatic moments, but Brown is the focus of a soap opera with multiple twists and turns that hogs headlines on a daily basis.

In March, the Pittsburgh Steelers traded the seven-time Pro Bowler to the Oakland Raiders, who signed him to a three-year, $50.1 million contract.

Things soured between Brown and the Raiders during training camp, however, with events including a confrontation with general manager Mike Mayock, a departure from training camp because of displeasure over the NFL banning his Schutt Air Advantage helmet, a video featuring a recorded conversation with head coach Jon Gruden and his outright asking the team for his release (before celebrating it).

Patrik Walker and R.J. White of CBS Sports provided a timeline of the key events since January 2017.

On Saturday, the Patriots quickly scooped up Brown after the Raiders released him earlier in the day, per Master Tesfatsion of Bleacher Report.

Brown is not eligible to play in the Pats' Week 1 game against the Steelers but can suit up at the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, Sept. 15.

Terrell Owens Says Antonio Brown Should Apologize to Raiders GM Mike Mayock

Hall of Fame wide receiver Terrell Owens said he does not believe the Oakland Raiders should suspend Antonio Brown but acknowledged the Pro Bowler has been "unprofessional" and should apologize to the organization.

"I think he should go and No. 1 apologize, talk to [Mike] Mayock and try to see if they can resolve this," Owens said on ESPN's First Take. "They've put so much into getting Antonio Brown to the Oakland Raiders. Obviously we've heard a lot about what happened in Pittsburgh, but obviously since that, there's been a lot that has transpired since then.

"So obviously with this latest incident, this is probably the icing on the cake. Everybody's obviously just probably rooting for the suspension. But there is so much riding on this season, there is so much riding on next season going to Vegas that they've invested so much in him. I don't think the answer is suspending him right away. If there is any way possible and I think Drew Rosenhaus has said they're trying to resolve this behind closed doors. If they can do that and move forward I think it's a good thing."

Brown's future with the Raiders is uncertain after the Pro Bowl wideout had a shouting match with general manager Mike Mayock on Thursday. He was incensed by the team fining him for missing a pair of team activities during training camp due to his displeasure with the NFL banning his preferred helmet.

Mayock had previously called for Brown to be "all in or all out" after he missed a practice in August. Teams can fine players for missing team activities during training camp but often eschew financial penalties to avoid alienating the player—especially with stars.

Owens said Brown likely believes he should have been given leeway as the team's best player.

"I can't really put a finger on what's behind the behavior, all I can say—I'm not going to go into name-calling—but it's been very unprofessional," Owens said. "I'm not condoning a lot of what he's done, but I think with money comes power. With money comes respect. A lot of that, he's witnessed with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Before he got money, before he was Antonio Brown, he was that sixth-rounder with a chip on his shoulder.

"When you're a superstar, there is superstar treatment. And I guarantee you, by Mayock fining him, he probably felt a certain way. Because now he's the star with the Oakland Raiders."

Agent Drew Rosenhaus appeared on ESPN's Get Up! earlier Friday and said he's hopeful that the situation can be resolved.

"There isn't an issue as far as I'm concerned, outside of what happened a couple days ago at practice," Rosenhaus said. "Antonio is looking forward to putting all of this stuff behind him. He wants to play football. He wants to have a good relationship with the team. That's why he signed with them. That's why he was traded there. Obviously, there's been a lot of speculation about the foot injury, the helmet. His feet are healthy. He's got a new helmet."

Rosenhaus categorized Brown's relationship with Raiders coach Jon Gruden as "good" but seemed to admit there's tension with Mayock. Gruden and Mayock are close dating back to their days as television analysts, and the former NFL Network draft guru is in his first season as a general manager.

It's clear, based on all of his actions this offseason, that Brown expects some level of superstar treatment. Much of his frustration in Pittsburgh stemmed from the fact he believed Ben Roethlisberger received preferential treatment. The Raiders knew all of this and saw potential despite Brown's controversial offseason, then proceeded to work through the helmet issue with him, only to fine him days before the season began.

It's fair to say both parties could have handled the situation better. However, it remains possible that the tension between Mayock and Brown has reached a point of no return. Rosenhaus told Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio that he does not expect Brown to play in the Raiders' season opener.

Terrell Owens channeled his inner Snoop Dogg meme when asked about Donovan McNabb's Hall of Fame candidacy.

The Hall of Fame wideout had a one-word answer when TMZ Sports asked whether McNabb deserves the nod.

"Who?" Owens asked incredulously.

Owens and McNabb had a famously contentious relationship during their time as teammates with the Philadelphia Eagles. Their fraught partnership, along with a contractual dispute, ultimately led to Owens' departure from Philadelphia after just two seasons despite it being wildly productive on the field.

Owens told Adam Schein on Mad Dog Sports Radio in 2018:

"A lot of people speculate as to what happened, but I think over the years now, people see that I wasn't really the problem in Philly. People said that Donovan and I had some friction. Maybe he had some friction with me, but I didn't have any with him.

"From my understanding, he had a problem with the way the city embraced me and not the way they embraced him. I am going by what I've heard in the streets."

Owens also pointed out an on-field incident the pair had as a reason for their falling out.

McNabb recently told TMZ Sports that he "absolutely" belongs in the Hall of Fame:

"I'm not hesitating on that. I am a Hall of Famer. My numbers are better than Troy Aikman, but he has Super Bowl rings. When they look at my numbers, yeah, but then they always want to add other stuff into it. 'Was he an All-Pro? Was he this? How many Super Bowl opportunities?' But people don't realize how hard it is to get to the NFC Championship and to get there five times and then make it to a Super Bowl? It's tough."

McNabb's lone Super Bowl appearance in 2004 came during his first season with Owens as a teammate.

It seems a decade-plus has not healed all wounds.

NFL Hall of Fame receiver Terrell Owens lost a number of belongings and pieces of memorabilia after a storage-unit facility in Atlanta sold the items at auction, saying Owens had stopped making payments, according to TMZ Sports.

Per that report, the items included "a custom bust of TO, old playbooks, autographed helmets, cleats and even a copy of an NDA [non-disclosure agreement] that we're assuming the NFLer gave to people at parties."

Owens told TMZ that he didn't know the items were up for auction because the company didn't contact him to give him warning, adding his people had tried to contact the company for years but was given the "runaround."

However, the story might have a happy ending, as the man who bought the items, James Rice of Jan's Used Furniture in Griffin, Georgia, told TMZ he would be "more than willing to give it back to its rightful owner."
