AEW Rampage Results: Winners, Live Grades, Reaction, Highlights From Nov. 10

Welcome to Bleacher Report's live coverage and recap of AEW Rampage on November 10.

With just 8 days until Full Gear, it's all hands on deck as the company prepares for the annual fall pay-per-view.

FTR's motto is "No flips, just fists," but they are going to have to deal with opponents who know a lot about flipping when they step into the ring with two of the best high-flyers in the world, Komander and El Hijo Del Vikingo.

Let's take a look at what happened during that match and everything else that took place on Friday's show.

Ricky Starks vs. Preston Vance

The first match on Rampage usually gets going right away, but this week's show aired live, so we got to see the full entrances for Ricky Starks and Preston Vance. Big Bill and Jose the Assistant were both at ringside to support their respective allies.

This was a fast-paced match from the moment the bell rang. Vance is a powerhouse but he is more than capable of keeping up with guys who are half his size.

Despite being more of a tweener character, Vance worked a babyface style in this match so Starks could play up his heel antics. Time will tell if LFI fully turns babyface or goes back to its villainous ways.

Starks and Vance had a decent showing in this one. Nothing especially noteworthy happened, but this was a solid opening match that positioned LFI as potential future challengers for the tag titles.

Starks scored the win with a Spear and then he and Bill immediately started attacking Vance. Rush and Dralistico showed up to drive the tag champs out of the ring.

Result: Ricky Starks defeated Preston Vance

Grade: B

Notable Moments and Observations

  • Big Bill joined the commentary team and talked about only being partners with Starks for a short time before winning the titles.
  • Starks grabbed the headset and talked on commentary for a few seconds.
  • Bill saying "That guy thinks he's big" about Vance was hilarious.
  • Starks hit a nice DDT at one point.

Red Velvet vs. Ruby Soho

Red Velvet made her first Rampage appearance in over a year this week when she took on Ruby Soho in singles action.

Saraya came out on the stage but decided not to accompany Soho all the way to the ring, so Velvet had a better chance than most opponents of The Outcasts.

These two may seem very different on the surface, but they have a lot of similarities when it comes to how they wrestle. They both like to incorporate a little bit of everything into their offense, so they had no problem finding their groove as opponents right away.

This bout lasted through a commercial into the next segment. At one point, someone came to the ring and delivered a bouquet of green roses to Soho, who looked utterly baffled by this. It led to a very awkward moment when Velvet tried and failed to pin her, but she got the pin a moment later when she hit a kick to the head.

The match was decent but the way the finish played out hurt it.

Result: Red Velvet defeated Ruby Soho

Grade: C+

Notable Moments and Observations

  • The commentators didn't make enough jokes about how both women have names referencing the color red.
  • Soho coming out to someone else's music just feels wrong. Her entrance music is awesome but AEW may only be allowed to play it so many times depending on the kind of deal they signed when they licensed the song.
  • The running kick Soho hit when Velvet was draped over the top rope looked good from the camera angle we got. That can make a big difference with strikes.

The Kingdom vs. Two NPCs

Matt Taven and Mike Bennet came out with Roderick Strong for a tag team match against two jobbers who lost quicker than it took The Kingdom to get to the ring. Roddy got out of his wheelchair to hit one of the guys with a backbreaker before getting right back in it and pretending to be hurt again.

Result: The Kingdom defeated two NPCs

Grade: Incomplete

Notable Moments and Observations

  • Roddy declared this month to be No Neck November. We won't say why that's funny, but it is.
  • We saw Ruby and Saraya talk to Angelo Parker and Matt Menard backstage. Ruby looked smitten with Parker for sending the flowers. It was kind of cute.

FTR vs. Komander and Vikingo

Rampage.

The main event for this week's show saw Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler take on Komander and Vikingo.

Komander and Harwood started for their teams. This was a huge clash of styles but FTR has a history of facing teams that are smaller and faster, so this was nothing new for them.

The high-flyers made great use of their skills to deliver an entertaining performance, and both members of FTR provided great landing pads for them whenever they took to the skies.

Both teams made sure the fans were happy with what they saw, and they were met with chants of "Fight forever" and "This is awesome" for their efforts.

After several close two-counts on both sides, FTR scored the victory when Wheeler got the pin after hitting The Shatter Machine on Komander. FTR helped their opponents up and showed them respect with a handshake.

The lights dropped and House of Black appeared on the big screen to end the show.

Result: FTR defeated Komander and Vikingo

Grade: B+

Notable Moments and Observations

  • Vikingo's entrance music is awesome.
  • Komander's biggest strength is his balance. The way he does things with such confidence is what makes every one of those wild moves even better.
  • The double 450 splashes Komander and Vikingo hit were timed about as close as you can get. It looked great.
  • Wheeler hit Komander with a Gory Special that looked like it had a lot of force.

The Final Word

Rampage is always a tricky show to manage because AEW likes to pack four matches and a few non-wrestling segments into a single hour, but this week's show managed to walk that line well.

The main event stood out as the best thing we saw in terms of in-ring action, but there was a backstage moment with Soho and Parker that is going to have fans talking on social media.

Starks and Vance had a solid match to open the show that put LFI on track to challenge for the AEW Tag Team Championships at some point. With neither team being booked for Full Gear yet, there is still time for Tony Khan to book that for the PPV.

Being live might have a small impact on the ratings this week since nobody could look up spoilers, but it seemed to help the overall presentation on some level. There's just something different about a live production that is more enjoyable than a show that is pre-taped and edited to fit perfectly between commercials.
