AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2025 Scheduled for London and More European Dates Announced

AEW announced Tuesday that its upcoming Forbidden Door pay-per-view will be held in London this summer.
AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2025 is set for Aug. 24 at The O2 Arena in London, plus episodes of Dynamite and Collision will take place at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland, on Aug. 20.
This year will mark the fourth edition of the AEW-New Japan supershow known as Forbidden Door. Previous iterations occurred in Chicago, Toronto and Elmont, New York.
Since 2021, AEW and NJPW have been engaged in a partnership, resulting in talent exchanges and plenty of crossover between the two companies.
A joint event was the next logical step, and it came to fruition in 2022 with the first Forbidden Door.
Several dream matches have become reality over the past few years thanks to Forbidden Door, including Jon Moxley vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi, Bryan Danielson vs. Kazuchika Okada and Mercedes Moné vs. Stephanie Vaquer.
More could be on tap for Forbidden Door 2025, and they will occur in a spectacular environment for pro wrestling.
For the past two years, All In has emanated from Wembley Stadium in London in front of massive crowds, making for two of the most memorable shows in AEW history.
AEW decided to make a change with All In this year, bringing it to the United States in July at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
That created some doubt regarding whether AEW would have a presence in Europe in 2025, but those concerns were allayed Tuesday with the announcement of Forbidden Door in London.
While The O2 has a significantly smaller capacity than Wembley, AEW clearly has a strong fanbase in the UK, and the most passionate members of that fanbase figure to pack the building for Forbidden Door.
Double or Nothing and All In are among the major pay-per-views on the AEW schedule this year before Forbidden Door, so it will likely be quite some time before the build begins, but there is enough talent between the two promotions to ensure that the Forbidden Door 2025 card should be a strong one.
