2025 NFL Free Agents: Rumors and Predictions After Eagles vs. Chiefs Super Bowl

The 2025 NFL offseason has officially arrived.

The Philadelphia Eagles are Super Bowl champions, the Tennessee Titans are on the clock and there are a host of free agents who have the potential to reshape the football landscape.

Before this roster-reshuffling really gets rolling, let's dissect the latest buzz from the rumor mill and predict what, if anything, it means for the players involved.

Davante Adams Looking West?

Miami Dolphins v New York Jets
Davante Adams

Davante Adams isn't a free agent at the moment, but that could change in a hurry. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler characterized Adams' $38.3 million cap hit as "untenable," while NFL Network's Ian Rapoport noted the Jets "have not been in contact" with Adams since new general manager, Darren Mougey, and new head coach, Aaron Glenn, took over.

Adams, it appears, will have a new football home sooner than later. And it sounds like he already has a few destinations in mind.

Per Fowler, Adams is said to be "intrigued by a return to the West Coast." The Los Angeles Rams, Los Angeles Chargers and San Francisco 49ers were listed as possibilities for Adams, who grew up in Northern California.

Adams would be a fun fit for any of these three teams—and plenty of others—but if those are his options, one stands out from the rest. While the Rams and 49ers are exploring their avenues for unloading veteran receivers (Cooper Kupp and Deebo Samuel, respectively), the Chargers should be aiming to upgrade as an established, primary pass-catcher could do wonders for Justin Herbert's output and Ladd McConkey's development.

Prediction: Adams is cut by the Jets and signs with the Chargers.

Aaron Rodgers out in New York?

Aaron Rodgers

It appears as if two seasons is all Aaron Rodgers will get with the Jets.

Per Fox Sports' Jay Glazer, Rodgers recently met with the franchise "only to be told that the team was moving on from him."

Given that the organization is in the middle of an overhaul, this all makes sense. The new Jets regime surely wants to put its own quarterback in place, and frankly, Rodgers might be ready for his own fresh start given all the frustrations he encountered over the past two campaigns.

Assuming he wants to continue his playing career, he should have at least a few landing spots to consider. The Pittsburgh Steelers seem like the best of the bunch, since their quarterback position is wide open (Russell Wilson and Justin Fields are both free agents) and the rest of their roster looks ready to contend.

Prediction: Rodgers signs with the Steelers.

Bills, Chiefs Competing for Hollywood Brown?

Kansas City Chiefs v Jacksonville Jaguars
Hollywood Brown

The Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs have grown accustomed to competing with one another over the years. They could be in for a different kind of tussle this offseason.

Rather than vying for AFC supremacy, the Bills and Chiefs might reportedly square off for the chance to sign speedy receiver Hollywood Brown.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported the Chiefs "very much want to keep" Brown, but people with the organization believe that Buffalo's MVP quarterback Josh Allen "has long wanted to play with Brown."

If winning matters to Brown, he should have obvious interest in joining either of these teams. He might sense a bigger opportunity in Buffalo than Kansas City, though, since the Chiefs already have an elite field-stretcher in rookie Xavier Worthy, who corralled all eight of his targets in the Super Bowl for 157 yards and two scores.

Prediction: Brown signs with the Bills.
