2025 NFL Draft: Predicting Trade Packages for Potential Top-10 Pick Deals

Super Bowl LIX Previews

Every NFL draft sees a flurry of picks changing hands via trade. Teams package up players and selections to maneuver up and down the board, filling needs and acquiring future value to bolster their rosters.

No picks are more valuable than those that fall within the top 10. Those coveted selections may lead to prospects who can change the fortunes of a franchise almost instantaneously.

While not every top-10 pick pans out, the upside and allure of blue-chip rookies can result in blockbuster trades taking place to land them.

With that in mind, let's take a look at some of the picks within the top 10 that should draw heavy trade interest this offseason and predict what these selections could end up being dealt for.

No. 1 Pick: Tennessee Titans

Miami Dolphins v New York Jets

The No. 1 overall pick may be a popular trade target this year.

With a class light on quarterback talent and several teams desperate to address their need for a franchise signal-caller, the Tennessee Titans—who have their own questions under center—might be convinced to slide down the board for the right price.

It's been two years since the No. 1 overall pick was last traded. The Chicago Bears landed two first-rounders, two second-rounders and standout receiver D.J. Moore in exchange from the Carolina Panthers for the slot.

While that splashy move to land Bryce Young hasn't panned out for the Panthers, that may not stop a squad like the New York Jets from taking a big swing in 2025.

The Jets informed Aaron Rodgers earlier this month that they plan to move on without from him. The aging quarterback's tenure was marred by injury in his first season, and despite starting all 17 games in 2024, the future Hall of Famer struggled to bring some much-needed stability to the organization.

With the Jets now being led by head coach Aaron Glenn and general manager Darren Mougey, the new regime could opt to go all-in to land a blue-chip passer atop the 2025 draft. They could also try to salvage some value from Rodgers and longtime favorite receiver Davante Adams—whom they brought in at the trade deadline this past season—by including them in a trade for that pick.

Whether New York would tap Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders—the two highest-rated QBs on the Bleacher Report Scouting Department's latest big board—at No. 1 overall is debatable, but both represent a chance for the long-suffering franchise to finally snap the longest ongoing playoff drought in the four major American professional sports.

It wouldn't be cheap to trade up from No. 7 to No. 1 overall, but the Jets are at a crossroads and need to make some bold choices. Jump-starting a new era with a landscape-altering deal wouldn't be a bad path to take.

Predicted Trade Package: 2025 first-round pick (No. 7 overall), 2025 second-round pick (No. 42 overall), 2026 second-round pick, QB Aaron Rodgers, WR Davante Adams

No. 2 Pick: Cleveland Browns

Cleveland Browns Mandatory Minicamp

The Cleveland Browns are in a tough spot. With Deshaun Watson failing to pan out and Myles Garrett requesting a trade, the team is in need of a major shakeup.

While the Browns could stand pat and guarantee themselves either Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders, they may not be willing to wait for one of them to develop.

Cleveland is only a year removed from reaching the playoffs on the heels of an 11-6 campaign, and it does have many of the pieces still in place to contend outside of the quarterback position.

If the Browns do make a run at a veteran passer, they can further capitalize on that decision by trading down from No. 2 overall.

The No. 2 pick has been quite valuable in the past, although it hasn't been moved much in recent history. The last deal involving the draft slot occurred in 2017, when the Chicago Bears sent one first-round pick, two third-rounders and one fourth-round pick to the San Francisco 49ers to move up one slot and land Mitchell Trubisky.

Cleveland could hunt for similar value, moving down a bit while remaining inside the top 10 to still add a playmaker who can fill a position of need for them.

The Raiders are an ideal candidate to trade with. They have little chance of landing a top-end quarterback prospect from the No. 6 slot and could be willing to cough up several Day 2 and 3 picks to get a franchise passer.

If Browns trade back and still come away with someone like hybrid playmaker Travis Hunter—the year's No. 1 overall prospect, according to the B/R Scouting Department—or elite wideout Tetairoa McMillan, this could be a franchise-altering class for a team that already holds 12 picks in the upcoming draft.

Predicted Trade Package: 2025 first-round pick (No. 6 overall), 2025 second-round pick (No. 37 overall), 2025 fourth-round pick (No. 107 overall)

No. 4: New England Patriots

NFL: JAN 05 Seahawks at Rams

The New England Patriots are entering a pivotal stage of their rebuild. With new head coach Mike Vrabel now at the reins and standout young quarterback Drake Maye heading into Year 2, they can't afford to make mistakes with their major offseason decisions.

While New England does hold nine picks in the 2025 draft, it could opt to trade some to acquire veteran talent. The Pats' most valuable selection is the No. 4 overall pick, which they could use to lure a superstar receiver to pair with Maye.

It's no secret that the most glaring holes on New England's roster have long been in the receiving corps. The Patriots haven't had a 1,000-yard receiver since Julian Edelman in 2019 and haven't had a Pro Bowl pass-catcher since tight end Rob Gronkowski in 2017.

The team has taken some shots on prospects to fill the void, including taking N'Keal Harry on Day 1 of the 2019 draft and using second-round selections on Ja'Lynn Polk in 2024 and Tyquan Thornton in 2022. However, those choices have largely failed to pan out.

That could lead New England to swing for the fences with a blockbuster trade, especially if top potential free-agent target Tee Higgins is unavailable after being franchise-tagged by the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Patriots could instead make a run at Seattle Seahawks wideout DK Metcalf, who has come up in trade rumors over the last few seasons. Metcalf is coming off a down 2024 season, but earned his second Pro Bowl nod in 2023 and has racked up 6,324 yards and 48 touchdowns since entering the league in 2019.

Although Metcalf wouldn't be worth the No. 4 overall pick straight up, trading back and coming away with an elite receiver like Metcalf in addition to retaining a decent first-round pick and adding some Day 2 capital would be an ideal scenario for New England.

It's been over a decade since the No. 4 slot was last involved in a trade, a deal that also involved a high-profile wideout. In 2014, the Buffalo Bills shipped the No. 9 overall pick, a 2015 first-rounder and a 2015 fourth-rounder to the Cleveland Browns to nab Sammy Watkins at No. 4.

Predicted Trade Package: 2025 first-round pick (No. 18), 2025 second-round pick (No. 50), WR DK Metcalf

No. 5: Jacksonville Jaguars

Jacksonville Jaguars Introduce Liam Coen as New Head Coach

The Jacksonville Jaguars might be able to capitalize on a fortunate draft slot this year. Armed with the No. 5 overall pick and no need for a franchise quarterback, they will be uniquely positioned to strike if Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders fall on draft night.

While both players might go within the first few selections, there are also plenty of scenarios in which at least one is still up for grabs when the Jags are on the clock.

Expect Jacksonville's new regime—helmed by new head coach Liam Coen and general manager James Gladstone—to explore its options and elect to trade back if this situation arises.

The Jaguars could move down just a spot or two by trading with a team like the Las Vegas Raiders (No. 6 overall) or New York Jets (No. 7), take a short leap down to No. 9 by swapping with the New Orleans Saints or even consider a bigger move out of the top 10 by striking a deal with a team such as the Dallas Cowboys (No. 12).

The Jaguars should still be able to land a prospect who fills a position of need on their roster with any of these swaps.

Whether they lean towards a pass-catcher like Tetairoa McMillan—the best pure receiver in the class and No. 4 overall prospect on the B/R Scouting Department's big board—or address the defensive trenches with Mason Graham (B/R's No. 3 overall prospect), the Jaguars can't lose by dropping a few slots and adding more picks to their coffers.

Jacksonville was involved the last time the No. 5 overall pick was dealt.

In 2012, the team swapped the Tampa Bay Buccaneers the Nos. 7 and 101 overall picks to move up two spots to select Justin Blackmon. That move clearly didn't pan out for the Jags, who also selected a punter over Russell Wilson in the third round that year.

The painful lessons from that deal could help spur a move down in 2025.

Predicted Trade Package: 2025 first-round pick (No. 9), 2025 second-round pick (No. 40 overall)

No. 10: Chicago Bears

Cleveland Browns v Cincinnati Bengals

The Chicago Bears hold the No. 10 pick in the 2025 draft and have some tough decisions to make with it. They can choose to stand pat and start off the Ben Johnson era with a first-round rookie or take a bold gamble by dealing it for one of the several disgruntled veterans seeking a trade this offseason.

The Bears could play it safe by beefing up the defensive trenches with one of the several defensive line prospects inside the top 15 of the B/R Scouting Department's big board. But they could benefit even more by going all-in to pry Myles Garrett away from the Cleveland Browns.

Garrett made it clear in his trade request that he wants to land with a contender. While the Bears don't exactly fit the bill after missing the playoffs for three consecutive years, they're brimming upside and look to be on the cusp of breaking out with Johnson now at the helm.

Garrett could be one of the missing pieces in the Windy City, even if the soon-to-be 30-year-old will cost Chicago a good bit of capital to acquire.

Ad Placeholder

The Bears have a dire need for an edge-rusher to pair with Montez Sweat, especially after parting ways with DeMarcus Walker in a cost-saving move this week. The team recorded only 40 sacks in 2024, with Sweat and defensive tackle Gervon Dexter being the only two players to notch five or more apiece.

Ad Placeholder

Garrett, a six-time Pro Bowler and former Defensive Player of the Year winner, has 102.5 sacks over his first 117 career games and hasn't finished with fewer than 14 sacks in a season since 2020. He'd instantly make the Bears one of the most formidable pass-rushing units in the league and help them follow the Philadelphia Eagles' blueprint for winning Super Bowls in the trenches.

Giving up the No. 10 overall pick in addition to a 2026 first-rounder and some Day 2 capital to facilitate this deal wouldn't be easy to swallow, but it's the type of franchise-altering move that could transform the Bears into a contender overnight.

Predicted Trade Package: Edge Myles Garrett
