WWE SmackDown Results: Winners, Live Grades and Highlights From Italy

Welcome to Bleacher Report's live coverage of WWE SmackDown on March 21.

Here's a look at what WWE advertised for this week's show from Italy:

—CM Punk, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins come face to face

—Jade Cargill vs. Liv Morgan

—Braun Strowman vs. Jacob Fatu

—Zelina Vega vs. Piper Niven

Let's take a look at everything that happened on Friday's episode of SmackDown from the European tour.

Opening Segment

After a quick introduction from the announcers, Randy Orton made his way to the ring to kick things off in Bologna, Italy. Before The Viper could utter a single word, Kevin Owens arrived and said Orton didn't deserve what he did to him.

He said he can forgive Orton for picking Cody Rhodes if he can forgive KO for attacking him. He said he saved Carmelo Hayes from Orton's punt to save him from himself.

The Prize Fighter said he and Orton should chase the tag titles at WrestleMania because they were so close to winning them a few months ago. Orton told him to shove his apology where the sun doesn't shine.

The Viper said he is going to kick Owens' head off at WrestleMania and the announcers seemed to confirm the match would happen. This was a logical route for WWE to take with this feud. Both men sold the segment well but it was pretty run-of-the-mill stuff overall.

Grade: C+

Notable Moments and Observations

—The crowd was hyped when CM Punk appeared during the intro video.

—Owens wearing one of Orton's shirts was a nice touch.

Drew McIntyre and Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Jimmy Uso and Damian Priest

Damian Priest and Jimmy Uso teamed up to take on Shinsuke Nakamura and Drew McIntyre this week. During McIntyre's entrance, Priest marched up the aisle to begin the fight.

Big Jim and McIntyre were the first legal men and after an initial salvo from Uso, The Scottish Psychopath threw him across the ring with a belly-to-belly suplex.

After a break, The Archer of Infamy began taking it to Nakamura. Big Jim and McIntyre were taken out at ringside before Priest hit South of Heaven on Nakamura for the win.

This was about as down-the-middle as a match can get. The post-match attack from McIntyre helped further the feud with him and Priest, but the tag match wasn't much of anything. Everyone looked good. It just didn't feel like there was any urgency.

Result: Priest and Uso defeated McIntyre and Nakamura

Grade: C+

Notable Moments and Observations

—This feels like such a 2010 WWE match for some reason. It's hard to explain. That is not a bad thing, but the randomness of the teams feels that way.

—Priest doing the walk across the top rope never looks that good. He looks so uncomfortable trying to balance up there.

Brain Strowman vs. Jacob Fatu

Strowman and Fatu have had many clashes in recent months, and they met for one more on Friday in one of the most anticipated TV matches this week.

This feud has taken off in WWE thanks to both men having the ability to get the crowd excited with a few simple gestures and by being monster powerhouses.

The Monster Among Men pushed Fatu to the corner and tried to take control, but The Samoan Werewolf fought back immediately.

Tama Tonga and Solo Sikoa ended up interfering to cause another disqualification. Fatu looked upset that he was robbed of his chance to beat Strowman. LA Knight showed up to lend Strowman a hand. Strowman was declared the winner, which means he earned a shot at the U.S. title.

While most of this match was fun, ending this with a DQ felt like lazy booking, especially since that is how their last match ended.

Sikoa and Fatu appear to have more issues to work out, so that could lead to something interesting, but the fans were still robbed of a clean win because WWE doesn't want to commit to putting one guy over the other yet.

Result: Strowman won by DQ

Grade: B-

Notable Moments and Observations

—Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton had a conversation in split screen to hype their WrestleMania match. It got a little awkward because it appeared they either didn't have a script or instructions, or they ignored them.

—Even something as simple as a back body drop gets a pop in a match like this.

—Knight and Tonga messes up a back drop over the top rope. It was hilarious.

Zelina Vega vs. Piper Niven

Vega took on Niven in a singles match hoping that a win would get her closer to a shot at the U.S. title held by Niven's leader, Chelsea Green.

The huge size disparity allowed Niven to dominate her much smaller opponent most of the time, but Vega's speed and agility allowed her to stay in the fight.

The match lasted through a break into the next segment and definitely picked up steam a bit, but it still never quite felt like they got out of second gear. Vega is capable of working at a fast pace so it was surprising to see her moving a bit slower.

Niven was able to score the win, which may have squashed any chance Vega had for a title shot. This wasn't the best we have seen from either competitor, but it wasn't bad either. Niven getting a win is always a plus.

Result: Niven defeated Vega

Grade: B-

Notable Moments and Observations

—Fatu ripped into Sikoa backstage about getting involved in his match.

—The crowd did not seem to care about this at all. There were moments of almost complete silence.

—Niven made the tornado DDT Vega hit look really good.

Liv Morgan vs. Jade Cargill

One-half of the women's tag team champions was in action this week when Morgan took on Cargill in her first match since returning from an injury.

Cargill took control right away but Morgan made a comeback and almost hit Oblivion within the first minute. That kickstarted a sequence of counters that ended with Morgan taking a fallaway slam.

Morgan and Rodriguez tried to leave early but were chased down. Morgan turned the tables and gained the upper hand as the show cut to a commercial.

The crowd started to come alive and chant a lot as the show returned. Cargill began to build up a head of steam with a series of high-impact moves before Naomi showed up and hit her with one of the tag titles.

Morgan hit Oblivion and scored the win with help from Naomi. This was a surprising outcome for Cargill's return match even if it was done to further a larger story.

The match was decent but having another dirty ending on this show took away some of the impact of the finish. Naomi's post-match attack was fun though.

Result: Morgan defeated Cargill

Grade: C+

Notable Moments and Observations

—We got another video for the arrival of who most people assume is Rey Fenix.

—Cargill gets good rotation on her fallaway slam.

—Naomi's gear looked awesome, as usual.

Los Garzas vs. Street Profits

Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins came out to give a promo about becoming the new tag team champions last week. As soon as their music stopped, chants of "You deserve it" rang out.

Legado Del Fantasma came out to complain, but they were quickly interrupted by the No. 1 contenders, Pretty Deadly. This led to Los Garzas taking on the Profits in a non-title bout.

We returned to see the match already in progress. Angel and Berto seemed to have Ford reeling with some double-team offense for quite some time, but Dawkins came in like a tornado off the hot tag. It took interference from Escobar to stop his rampage.

With two teams that have this kind of athleticism, it didn't take them much effort to put on one of the best matches on WWE television this week. Both teams had plenty of chances to shine.

Ford took to the sky to hit a massive Frog Splash to get the win for his team. This was solid work from start to finish from both teams.

Result: The Street Profits defeated Los Garzas

Grade: B+

Notable Moments and Observations

—The video package for the Street Profits winning the tag titles last week was good. They have deserved to be in the spotlight for a long time.

—Santos Escobar is too good to be on the sidelines so much. WWE needs to find a feud for him.

—Berto's handspring moonsault looked great.

—The Garza Special was a great spot.

—The moment when Ford landed on his feet from a double press slam on the top rope was awesome. Angel and Berto sold the moment perfectly and the crowd ate it up.

The Final Word

The final segment this week was the confrontation with Reigns, Punk and Rollins. The Tribal Chief was out first and spoke for a few minutes before he invited anyone else to come confront him.

Rollins joined him first and said Reigns should have let him finish off Punk when he had the chance. This brought out the Straight-Edge Superstar. Punk ended up going after Reigns, which made Rollins go after Punk. All three men brawled as officials tried to pull them apart.

SmackDown ended with all three men fighting as dozens of officials tried to separate them.

As a whole, this week's show felt lacking. The tag match with Los Garzas and the Profits was a lot of fun, but nothing else on the show stood out as something you need to go out of your way to see.

WWE usually makes the international shows feel somewhat special, but the only thing about this week's episode that was special was the lively crowd. Italy gave WWE a lot for very little in return.

Most of the matches were passable, but a lot of what we got between them felt superfluous. They did some work to build WrestleMania, so it wasn't a total wash.
