AEW Collision Results, Winners, Live Grades, Highlights Before Wrestle Dynasty 2025

Welcome to Bleacher Report's live coverage of AEW Collision on April 5. This is the final episode of AEW television before Sunday's Dynasty PPV, so a lot of time was spent hyping the card.
Here's a look at what AEW advertised for this week's show:
—Mike Bailey vs. Dralistico
—Pac vs. Cash Wheeler
—Mercedes Mone and Harley Cameron vs. Julia Hart and Athena
—Top Flight vs. CRU
—Powerhouse Hobbs and Tomohiro Ishii vs. Kyle Fletcher and Konosuke Takeshita
—Max Caster open challenge
Let's take a look at everything that happened on this week's Collision.
Hobbs and Ishii vs. Fletcher and Takeshita

Fletcher and Takeshita were out first at the top of the show for the opening match against Hobbs and Ishii.
Ishii shoved Takeshita right away before they collided a few times with shoulder tackles. They went blow for blow but couldn't take each other down. It was an even fight until Ishii finally scored the first knockdown.
Fletcher tried to look confident against Hobbs, but he changed his tune as soon as Hobbs easily backed him to the corner.
After a break, the Powerhouse got a hot tag and began running over both of his opponents. All four men looked good in this bout, but Hobbs looked like the biggest badass, especially during the second half.
Fletcher and Takeshita tried to double-team Ishii, but The Stone Pitbull hit a surprising hurricanrana in the corner to take down The Protostar.
Once he recovered, Fletcher took down Ishii with a brainbuster to get the win for his team. This was a solid opening bout with a lot of fun spots.
Result: Fletcher and Takeshita defeated Ishii and Hobbs
Grade: B
Notable Moments and Observations
—Takeshita's mask was cool.
—Don Callis was announced as being on commentary all night.
—The opening sequence with Takeshita and Ishii was a lot of fun.
—Fletcher did the DX crotch chop at one point.
—The way Takeshita helped Fletcher hit a brainbuster was creative.
Max Caster Open Challenge

Caster was in the ring after a quick backstage segment with Nick Wayne, Lio Rush and Action Andretti. He said he drove through a tornado to get to the arena just to wrestle for the crowd.
Mark Briscoe answered his open challenge, much to Caster's dismay. The Chicken started unloading on Caster as soon as the bell rang. He used some patented rednick kung-fu to take the self-proclaimed Best Wrestler Alive down several times.
Briscoe won with the Jay Driller in quick fashion. This was basically a glorified squash, but it was more entertaining than expected.
Result: Briscoe defeated Caster
Grade: C
Notable Moments and Observations
—Caster spoke way longer than he needed to before this match.
—Briscoe hit one of the best Jay Drillers he has ever hit in this match. Caster did a great job getting fully upright.
Lio Rush and Action Andretti vs. Top Flight

Andretti and Rush assumed AR Fox would get involved tonight, so they tried to get Wayne to help them backstage before they went to the ring to take on Dante And Darius Martin.
Leila Grey distracted Rush and Andretti so the Martins could surprise them with an attack from behind.
One thing AEW is great at is taking guys who work well together and letting them put on a good fight. These are four high-flyers who know each other well, so they were making complicated sequences and high-risk spots look easy.
We have been able to watch Top Flight for years, but getting to see Rush and Andretti turn into a good tag team has been the biggest highlight of this feud. They have developed great chemistry as partners, but it wasn't enough to get the win.
Dante and Darius got the win, but Rush and Andretti continued the attack. Fox showed up to help, but Wayne arrived and took him down. Tony Schiavone announced a trios match with all six men for the Dynasty pre-show.
Result: Top Flight defeated Rush and Andretti
Grade: B+
Notable Moments and Observations
—Leila was dressed to the nines.
—It was weird hearing Callis be a bigger fan of the babyface team in this match.
—Rush took Dante out with a suicide dive like a bullet.
Pac vs. Cash Wheeler

Adam Cole and Daniel Garcia had an interview with Renee Paquette. Back in the arena, Wheeler came out alone for his match against Pac.
Wheeler forced Pac to the ropes during the initial lockup, but Pac shoved him to the mat and taunted him to get under his skin.
This turned into a good technical contest that saw Pac grow more upset over time as Wheeler managed to outwrestle him.
The Bastard made a comeback during the break, but Wheeler shocked him with a suicide dive that wiped him out at ringside.
This was a really good match from start to finish. The progressively built up their offense in a satisfying way that made both men look great.
Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, Dax Harwood and Adam Copeland were all involved in the finish that saw Pac win with use of the ring bell hammer he has used to many times before.
Result: Pac defeated Wheeler
Grade: B
Notable Moments and Observations
—The interview with Cole and Garcia felt unnecessary. They said nothing they haven't said before.
—Pac has some of the best facial expressions. He is so good at conveying emotion without saying anything.
—Wheeler's suicide dive looked awesome.
Mike Bailey vs. Dralistico

Ricochet was on commentary to watch Dralistico take on Bailey just 24 hours before Ricochet and Speedball are in a match with Kenny Omega at Dynasty. The Beast Mortos accompanied Dralistico to the ring.
The masked man tried to play some mind games and act like he was going to leave before heading back to the ring to begin a fast-paced sequence.
As expected, this was a hard-hitting and exciting match. AEW's newest signing continues to impress with each outing, and Dralistico lives up to his reputation every time he steps into the ring.
Unfortunately for the luchador, Speedball is the guy being pushed right now, so there was little doubt that he would get the victory.
Bailey got the win, but Ricochet got the last laugh when he snuck into the ring and hit a low blow followed by a Spirit Gun.
Result: Bailey defeated Dralistico
Grade: B
Notable Moments and Observations
—Dralistico coming out to his own music instead of Rush's music was a nice change of pace.
—The fact that WWE never tried to let Ricochet be a heel feels like such an oversight now. He is very good at being unlikable.
—Bailey's jumping enziguiri looked nasty.
Mercedes Mone and Harley Cameron vs. Julia Hart and Athena

This week's main event saw Mone team up with her one-time opponent, Cameron, to take on Athena and Hart in a tag match.
The ROH and TBS champions started for their teams with some trash talking and shoving before The CEO tagged out to Cameron like a coward.
The Fallen Angel quickly took control before tagging in Hart to continue working on Cameron's arm. Mercedes came in and ended up in the octopus stretch. Harley threw the Mercedes puppet into the ring and it seemed to help The CEO counter the hold somehow.
Hart and Athena ended up being the fan-favorite team in this bout, but the crowd was still cheering for Cameron whenever she was in the ring. Mone seemed to be the only one getting booed, which made for an interesting dynamic.
Hart was able to get the win for her team by making Cameron tap out as The CEO looked on from ringside unable to help.
Result: Hart and Athena defeated Mone and Cameron
Grade: B
Notable Moments and Observations
—Mercedes and Harley have great chemistry as an odd couple pairing.
—Harley having a puppet of Mercedes shouldn't be as funny as it is.
—Hart's entrance never gets old. She should never change it.
The Final Word

Saturday’s Collision was a great go-home show because it managed to address almost every big feud that will be featured on Sunday’s Dynasty PPV while also delivering some entertaining in-ring action.
Caster’s open challenge was the only match that was lacking, but it was by design, so it was easy to forgive because it was still an entertaining segment.
Bailey continues to impress in each showing in AEW, getting more Athena on our screens is never a bad thing, and Top Flight turned in a great performance against Rush and Andretti.
The match of the night was a close call, but Fletcher and Takeshita vs. Ishii and Hobbs took it by a slight margin.
Dynasty has some interesting matches on the card this year, so let's hope the company can stick the landing.
