AEW Collision Results, Winners, Live Grades, Reaction and Highlights from April 17

Welcome to Bleacher Report's live coverage of AEW Collision on April 17.
This week's show aired on a special night to avoid competition from WrestleMania 41, so All Elite Wrestling was airing at the same time as its sister brand, Ring of Honor.
Here's a look at what AEW advertised for Thursday's show at the MGM Music Hall at Fenway in Boston:
—Adam Cole holds TNT title open challenge
—AR Fox vs. Kevin Knight
—Komander vs. Nick Wayne (ROH TV Championship)
—Mercedes Mone and Harley Cameron vs. Kris Statlander and Julia Hart
Let's take a look at everything that happened on this week's Collision.
Kevin Knight vs. Lance Archer

Spring Breakthru kicked off with Nigel McGuinness and Tony Schiavone on the stage to discuss what happened on last night's Dynamite. Out of nowhere, Marina Shafir dragged some poor woman onto the stage while beating her up.
She went to the ring and took the mic from the announcer before Jon Moxley joined her. Claudio Castagnoli destroyed a camera and beat up a cameraman while Wheeler Yuta caused some chaos, too. After some talk, Mox issued a challenge to Samoa Joe before leaving.
The first match of the night saw Kevin Knight take on his biggest physical challenge since joining AEW, Lance Archer.
The Murderhawk Monster dragged Knight to the stage and beat him up a bit before bringing him back to the ring. The Jet used some of his high-flying offense to take Archer off his feet.
Knight and Archer put on a good powerhouse vs. high-flyer match. The way AEW has presented The Jet since signing has been great, and this allowed him to tap into that underdog quality he possesses.
Knight scored what many would call an upset win when he hit a springboard clothesline to get the pin. This was a solid outing that helped continue The Jet's rise in AEW.
Result: Knight defeated Archer
Grade: B
Notable Moments and Observations
—The cameraman who was attacked was not one of AEW's usual guys, so he was probably an indie worker.
—Archer used his jacket as a weapon, which actually looked kind of effective because it had so much metal on it.
—Knight's springboard moonsault looked effortless.
—The jumping hurricanrana Knight hit was great.
Josh Alexander and Konosuke Takeshita vs. Rocky Romero and Tomohiro Ishii

The Don Callis Family was in action for the second time when Josh Alexander and Konosuke Takeshita took on Rocky Romero and Tomohiro Ishii.
Ishii and Takeshita, the two bruisers on their respective teams, squared off to get this match going with an exchange of strikes and takedowns.
The four men involved in this match are very different competitors, but they are also all gifted performers who know how to work with talents of any kind, so they were able to put on a fun and physical bout.
The ending of the match was a bit confusing at first, but it eventually made sense. Romero didn't tag in when Ishii needed him and it led to their loss. Then, Trent Beretta showed up and helped Romero attack him.
The Don Callis Family came back and Don handed Trent a monkey wrench to use as a weapon against Big Tom. Beretta is back and it looks like Romero has joined the family, too. The Conglomeration might be a thing of the past.
Result: Alexander and Takeshita defeated Ishii and Romero
Grade: B+
Notable Moments and Observations
—Jamie Hayter and Kris Statlander had a tense exchange backstage before this match.
—Whoever was supposed to grab Ishii's Openweight Championship must have forgotten because it was sitting in the ring until the ref asked someone to move it.
—It's a shame Alexander was immediately put with the Callis family instead of being allowed to make his own way.
—Ishii's headbutt to Alexander looked good.
Megan Bayne Handicap Match

Megan Bayne was in another handicap match this week against two local talents named Rebecca Scott and Ashley Vox.
The two women took the fight to Bayne and hit a double dropkick right out of the gate, but Bayne fired back with a suplex to both competitors at once.
The Megasus hit three powerbombs on one woman before taking the other's head off with a running clothesline. She pinned both women at the same time for an easy squash victory.
Result: Bayne won
Grade: Incomplete
Notable Moments and Observations
—It's too bad Penelope Ford has been relegated to a sidekick. She can be so much more if AEW put some effort into a push.
Adam Cole vs. Claudio Castagnoli

Adam Cole came out for his TNT title open challenge, and he was surprised to see Claudio Castagnoli answer the call.
The Swiss Superman cornered Cole and immediately hit a huge slam to assert his dominance early. The fight spilled out of the ring once Cole began to make a comeback.
The majority of this match was made up of long period of Castagnoli dominating while Cole would make a short-lived comeback. It put the champion in the position of an underdog right away, and their size difference added to that perception.
The TNT champion began to build some momentum after the commercial break by focusing on Claudio's neck. Castagnoli had the upper hand with a superplex, but Cole rolled him into a crucifix pin to get the victory.
These guys have known each other for a long time, so it was easy for them to put on a solid performance with a lot of great spots. The only downside to how this went down is it was a loss for Castagnoli only one hour after The Death Riders made a declaration of violence.
To show how upset he was, Castagnoli destroyed the announce table in a fit of rage. Yuta, Shafir and Moxley talked him down and escorted him away.
Result: Cole defeated Castagnoli
Grade: B+
Notable Moments and Observations
—Claudio threw a chair on his way to the ring and it hit Nigel by accident.
—Cole was thrown over the barricade into the crowd but he landed on his feet, so it didn't look like the bad landing he was trying to sell.
—Fans of Da Party on UpUpDownDown were excited to see these two in the same ring again.
—Countering the Panama Sunrise into a Big Swing was a fun spot.
LFI vs. Local Talents

KM, Rosario Grillo and LMG are three local talents who were given an opportunity to rack up some hospital bills in a squash match against Rush, Dralistico and The Beast Mortos.
This was as one-sided as it gets and ended with Rush hitting a running corner kick for the win.
Result: LFI won
Grade: Incomplete
Notable Moments and Observations
—The crowd was chanting Rush's name during LFI's entrance.
—Multiple squash matches on the same show is something AEW should avoid.
Komander vs. Nick Wayne

Wayne had a chance to bring gold to The Patriarchy when he challenged Komander for the ROH TV title.
Wayne ignored the Code of Honor and spit his gum in his opponent's face, so Komander hit him with a dropkick.
We returned from a break to see Wayne controlling the pace against the high-flyer, but Komander didn't let him keep the upper hand for long.
Komander managed to avoid Wayne's World and hit a poison rana that sent the challenger out of the ring. He followed up with a moonsault from the top rope to the floor, but his shooting star press was blocked and Wayne hit his finisher for the win to become the new ROH TV champion.
This was one of Wayne's best AEW matches to date and highlighted him effectively without a bunch of shenanigans from his stable.
Result: Wayne defeated Komander
Grade: B+
Notable Moments and Observations
—Wayne's entrance music feels like it was meant for someone else. It doesn't fit him at all.
—The way Komander makes it look easy to just hop to the top rope is almost unfair to normal humans who have to abide by the laws of gravity.
—The crowd was having a lot of fun chanting about Nick's mom.
—Wayne hit a nice bridging dragon suplex.
Mercedes Mone and Harley Cameron vs. Kris Statlander and Julia Hart

The odd couple team of Mercedes and Harley was back together this week when they took on Statlander and Hart in the main event.
Cameron and Mone traded tags because neither of them was interested in taking on Statlander. Stat and Hart had a brief moment with puppet Mone before the action got started.
The big feud in this match was between Stat and Mone, but all four women had standout moments. Cameron and Hart made sure nobody forgot they were there even when the focus was off of them.
The end of the match saw Hart hold Mone in a submission so she had to watch Statlander destroy Cameron to get the win. This was fun but felt a bit unfocused at times. Statlander was the star here.
Result: Statlander and Hart defeated Mone and Cameron
Grade: B-
Notable Moments and Observations
—Storm asking if there used to be a desk at ringside was funny.
—Statlander has been hitting the gym. Her biceps are noticeably bigger.
—Storm having a crush on Statlander has led to so many funny lines from Toni.
The Final Word

Thursday’s Collision was a weird episode because most of what we got was good quality wrestling, but having three squash matches on one card felt excessive.
Wayne winning the ROH TV title was a nice moment for him, Knight and Archer put on a fun match, and the main event tag bout had a lot to like.
The best match of the night goes to Cole and Castagnoli, which comes as no surprise. These two have known each other most of their careers, so it would be shocking if they put on anything less than a banger.
With this week being dominated by WWE’s WrestleMania festivities, it was nice to see AEW make an effort to put Collision on a different night so it wasn’t overshadowed.
