What If Trent Fails: The Bills' Quarterback Options

Since the preseason is only a week away, the Bills will need to name a starting quarterback soon. The most likely pick will be Trent Edwards. But what if Trent fails or gets injured? The Bills will be in a heated race to get a replacement. Here are some quarterbacks that the Bills might use, pursue, or trade up for.
On the Roster: Ryan Fitzpatrick

Ryan Fitzpatrick did well last year, putting up a respectable 4-4 record while filling in for Edwards. He did have rough spots last season, throwing two picks against Houston, but did end off the season with three touchdowns.

On the Roster: Brian Brohm

Brian Brohm had a really bad NFL debut last year, throwing for two interceptions and no touchdowns. But he is still a good young quarterback who could succeed in the NFL.

Free Agency: Jeff Garcia

Jeff Garcia right now is an NFL free agent. He is one of 12 NFL quarterbacks ever to throw 30-plus touchdowns in two consecutive seasons, but that was in San Francisco in 2001-'02. He still has promise, as he showed when he led Tampa Bay to the playoffs in 2008.

Free Agency: Todd Collins

Todd Collns was recently released by Washington in March as part of the Shanahan Movement. He played the best season of his career in 2007 when Jason Campbell went down in Week 13. In '07, he led the Redskins to four consecutive wins and 888 yards passing, 5 touchdown, no interceptions, and led them to the playoffs, earning him NFL Player of the Month.

Brian St.Peire has been a career back up since coming in 2003. He always looks good in the preseason.

Mike Vick currently a eagle but could easily be traded.In the 2010 playoffs he threw a 76yd TD pass. He still has gas left in tank.
