AEW Collision Results, Winners, Live Grades, Highlights After Wrestle Dynasty 2025

Welcome to Bleacher Report's live coverage of AEW Collision on April 12.
We are fresh off the Dynasty PPV last weekend and AEW continued the Owen Hart Cup tournaments this week.
Here is a look at what AEW advertised for Saturday's show:
—Jamie Hayter vs. Billie Starkz
—Anthony Bowens vs. Blake Christian
—Harley Cameron vs. Athena
—Megan Bayne in action
—Brody King vs. Konosuke Takeshita
—FTR speaks
Let's take a look at everything that happened on this week's Collision.
Why Did They Do It?

After Tony Schiavone ran down the card for the night, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler came out to speak about why they turned on Adam Copeland at Dynasty.
Both men gave their reasons for why turning on Cope was the right move for them. They did what good heels do, which is to try to position themselves as the heroes instead of the villains, and it worked judging by how the crowd reacted.
They invited Schiavone into the ring and Nigel McGuinness tried to talk him out of getting into the ring because he thought they would hurt him.
FTR was going to hit him with a spike piledriver until Nigel got up and got into the ring to protect him. Daniel Garcia came out and Harwood shoved him before seeing who it was. FTR helped him up and hugged him, but Garcia didn't reciprocate.
FTR left without attacking Garcia, so he went to make sure Schiavone was fine. This was an interesting segment because several different dynamics were in play. This might not have been super exciting, but it was entertaining.
Grade: B+
Notable Moments and Observations
—The crowd gave FTR some good heat during their entrance.
—Nigel being afraid for someone else's safety was surprising but made sense, too.
—Harwood allowing his daughter to be used as part of his heel turn was unexpected.
Jamie Hayter vs. Billie Starkz

After a quick promo from Toni Storm, Hayter made her way to the ring to take on Starkz in the first match of the night.
Starkz looked a little intimidated at first, but she used a handshake to sucker Hayter in for an Irish whip. She tried to hit a suicide dive but ran right into a forearm smash.
This was more competitive than their previous encounter, but Hayter still controlled the pace more than her young opponent.
They fought through a break into the next segment and kept the pace steady. Starkz was selling an injured leg after a half-crab submission, but she still had some fight in her.
The Hayterade didn't put Starkz away, so the former women's champion started to get frustrated. Both women kicked out of some big moves before Hayter was able to secure the win. This was a great performance from both women.
Result: Hayter defeated Starkz
Grade: B+
Notable Moments and Observations
—Storm thirsting over Kris Statlander was hilarious. Telling Hayter nobody has ever made money by dressing like they are in a different era was the best part.
—The way Starkz sold being thrown into the barricade was great.
—They did a good job making it look like Starkz learned in their previous encounter.
—The suplex from the apron to the floor looked brutal.
Gates of Agony vs. Local Talents, Blake Christian vs. Anthony Bowens

Toa Liona and Bishop Kaun were in action this week against two local talents called Smash and Burn whose fates were sealed before the bell even rang. This was a squash that lasted less than two minutes and ended with Kaun and Liona getting the win.
Result: Gates of Agony defeated Smash and Burn
Grade: Incomplete
After a quick backstage segment, Bowens and Christian fought in a singles match. Billy Gunn was at ringside with The Pride of Pro Wrestling while Lee Johnson accompanies Christian.
This was a competitive back-and-forth contest, but Bowens definitely had the upper hand more often than his opponent. This bout was designed to keep building momentum for him after his win over Max Caster, and that is exactly what it did.
They battled into the next segment and made this far more competitive than Caster vs. Bowens was at Dynasty, but Christian's offense wasn't enough to stop Bowens from hitting several impressive signatures moves and his new finisher, the Mollywhop.
Even though most of this match was good, there were a couple of moments that ended up being sloppy because they were going too fast, but they didn't slow down the action.
Result: Bowens defeated Christian
Grade: B
Notable Moments and Observations
—Liona and Kaun have been underused for too long. They could be so good in the AEW tag team division.
—Daddy Magic and Angelo Parker ripped into FTR backstage.
—Getting Jane's Addiction for Bowens' entrance music was a good choice.
—Christian is such a valuable talent because he can have a good match with anyone.
2-on-1 Handicap Match

Bayne was in action this week in a handicap match this week because she was looking to prove she can take on any competition. Her opponents were a couple of local talents named LMK and Kelly Madan.
This was a dominant performance from The Megasus. She stacked both women on top of each other when she got the pin.
Result: Bayne defeated Madan and LMK
Grade: Incomplete
Notable Moments and Observations
—LMK stands for Little Mean Kathleen, which is a fantastic pro wrestling name.
—Penelope Ford was at ringside for Bayne.
—LMK took a painful bump from a fallaway slam but kept going.
Kevin Knight vs. AR Fox

Kevin Knight was looking to build more momentum following his $100k win on Dynamite, but AR Fox was not going to just lay down for him.
Both of these men are quick on their feet and capable of taking flight at any given moment, so this match was fast-paced from the moment they made contact.
The Jet kept up with his more experienced opponent, but he couldn't put him away with a huge sit-out spinebuster.
This was entertaining from start to finish. After a few close calls, Knight picked up the victory.
Result: Knight defeated AR Fox
Grade: B+
Notable Moments and Observations
—The first few exchanges they had were terrific. They matched their styles and speed perfectly.
—Fox's moonsault from the apron looked smooth.
—Knight almost landed right on Fox's face when he hit a dropkick.
—The way Knight spiked Fox with a DDT was awesome.
FTR vs. 2.0

Following a heated conversation backstage, Daddy Magic and Angelo Parker took on FTR in a tag match. Garcia came out to watch from ringside as two teams he is close with fight.
As soon as the bell rang, Harwood and Wheeler went after their opponents and beat them down in and out of the ring.
Daddy Magic was busted open immediately. Garcia pleaded with FTR to go easy on his friends, but they didn't listen. They spiked Magic with a pair of piledrivers. Garcia begged them to just pin him instead of hitting a third, which they obliged.
The match wasn't much of anything, but the story they are telling with Garcia is interesting. FTR ran back to the ring and attacked Garcia. They hit him with two spike piledrivers before The Paragon ran to the ring to make the save.
Adam Cole, Kyle O'Reilly and Roderick Strong sent them running but the damage was done.
Result: FTR defeated 2.0
Grade: C+
Notable Moments and Observations
—Wheeler doing Garcia's dance for a second was funny.
—It was hard to tell when Magic was busted open because the camera was focused on Wheeler and Parker at the time.
Athena vs. Harley Cameron

Another match in the women's Owen Hart tourney took place this week with Athena taking on Cameron.
Athena tried to big-time Harley at first, but the ventriloquist scored a takedown and did some celebrating of her own, which angered The Fallen Goddess.
This could have been a shorter match and nobody would have been surprised, but they fought through a break into the next segment. This made Cameron look more competitive than most of Athena's ROH opponents.
We returned to see Cameron fighting out of a bow and arrow submission, but a series of kicks from the ROH champion put her on the mat.
This was far more competitive than it needed to be, but that is rarely a bad thing. Athena countered Cameron's finisher and hit her with a powerbomb, a knee strike and her finisher for the win.
They had a couple of sloppy moments at the end, but the vast majority of what they did looked good.
Result: Athena defeated Cameron
Grade: B-
Notable Moments and Observations
—Sadly, puppet Mercedes was not at ringside for this match.
—Athena's apron slam looked good.
—Every time she wrestles, you can see noticeable improvements in Cameron's work.
Brody King vs. Konosuke Takeshita

The main event of this week's show was another Owen tournament match. Takeshita took on King in one of the more anticipated matches of the tournament thus far.
These are two big, powerful competitors, so everyone was expecting a hard-hitting contest. King scored the first real knockdown with a brutal chop, but both men were doing a lot of no-selling to appear tough.
Hart was animated at ringside as she cheered on King every time he hit a big move. He had a few minutes of bring in control before Takeshita hit a blue thunderbomb out of nowhere to get a two-count.
This was an enjoyable fight between two guys who are known for being powerhouses. Takeshita showed off his strength when he threw King around before hitting a huge lariat for a near-fall.
It took a lot to put King away, but Takeshita finally did it with two running knees in a row to advance to the next round of the tournament.
Result: Takeshita defeated King
Grade: A-
Notable Moments and Observations
—It was cool to see highlights from NJPW's show in Chicago on Friday night during Takeshita's entrance.
—It was great to see Julia Hart and King as a pair again. They used to be in each other's corner more than any other members of House of Black.
—King hit a huge superplex during the break but we got to see it on a replay.
—Some of King's chops were echoing. That is how hard he was hitting Big Take. He was leaving big red marks with each hit.
The Final Word

This week’s Collision packed eight matches into two hours, and while a couple of them were simple squashes, most of what we got was entertaining.
FTR were the stars of the show by opening with a promo and then wrestling 2.0 later in the show. Their attack on Garcia further cemented their heel turn and made the crowd angry.
Picking the best match of the night is tough because we got a few different bouts that were great for different reasons.
Fox and Knight put on a fun high-flying showcase, Hayter and Starkz had a great fight, and King and Takeshita closed the show with a hard-fought battle.
The main event of Dynasty upset a lot of fans, but AEW has responded with two very strong episodes of TV in a row, so things are moving in the right direction.
Grade: B+
