NFL Rumors: 'Several AFC Teams' Pause Trade Deadline Talks; Waiting on Week 9 Results

Struggling AFC teams may not be ready to sell off valuable assets just yet.
NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported that "several AFC Teams" have paused trade discussions and are going to wait until after Week 9 to decide whether they will trade away contributors or hold onto them for a potential run.
The 2024 NFL Trade Deadline is Tuesday, Nov. 5.
There are currently nine teams in the AFC with sub-.500 records and six with two or fewer wins.
Only one team in the AFC East is above .500, the Buffalo Bills, and the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins both have hopes of making a run. Miami finally has quarterback Tua Tagovailoa back and his presence in the offense should make it very potent once again. The Jets already earned a Week 9 victory over the Houston Texans on Thursday night and will hope that quarterback Aaron Rodgers can steer them in the right direction.
The New England Patriots, Cleveland Browns, Tennessee Titans and Las Vegas Raiders have already dealt players away ahead of the deadline and further moves could be coming.
The Jacksonville Jaguars and Cincinnati Bengals could potentially turn their seasons around, but losses in Week 9 would likely push them further toward a sell-off.
