New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson suffered an ankle injury at Thursday's training camp practice, but it is not believed to be serious.

"All indications are he'll be OK," Jets coach Robert Saleh told reporters. Saleh's comments came after Wilson limped off during Thursday's session.

Wilson is a franchise cornerstone for New York, so any setback is sure to be worrisome.

He appeared in all 17 games as a rookie after the Jets selected him with the No. 10 overall pick of the 2022 NFL draft. The Ohio State product ended up winning Offensive Rookie of the Year behind 83 catches for 1,103 yards and four touchdowns.

Expectations are even higher for the 23-year-old entering the 2023 campaign thanks to the addition of Aaron Rodgers at quarterback.

While Wilson is an important part of New York's long-term plans, it still has some other options to turn to in the immediate future if he is sidelined. Look for Allen Lazard, Mecole Hardman and Corey Davis to see more looks in practice until the second-year playmaker is ready to return.

As we move closer to the start of the 2023 NFL season, players around the league are finding out where they stack up among the best of the best.

The unveiling of the top 100 NFL players for the 2023 season continued on Wednesday, as NFL Network released Nos 71-80. The players listed from Nos 91-100 and Nos 81-90 were released on Monday and Tuesday, respectively. Wednesday's installment of the top 100 was headlined by Baltimore Ravens star quarterback Lamar Jackson and New York Jets second-year receiver Garrett Wilson.

  • 71: DeForest Buckner, DT, Indianapolis Colts
  • 72: Lamar Jackson, QB, Baltimore Ravens
  • 73: Budda Baker, S, Arizona Cardinals
  • 74: Garrett Wilson, WR, New York Jets
  • 75: Trey Hendrickson, DE, Cincinnati Bengals
  • 76: Tariq Woolen, CB, Seattle Seahawks
  • 77: Geno Smith, QB, Seattle Seahawks
  • 78: Talanoa Hufanga, S, San Francisco 49ers
  • 79: Dre Greenlaw, LB, San Francisco 49ers
  • 80: Mark Andrews, TE, Baltimore Ravens

Here's a look at some of the highlights from Wednesday's list.

Lamar Jackson

This ranking represents a steep fall for Jackson, who made his debut in the top 100 in 2020 as the No. 1 overall player following his 2019 MVP campaign. He was then ranked No. 24 in 2021 and No. 36 last year.

Despite the drop in the rankings, Jackson is still one of the premiere quarterback talents in the NFL, and he's poised for a big year.

The 26-year-old had been limited to 12 games in each of the last two seasons due to knee injuries. He finished with 2,242 passing yards, 17 touchdowns and seven interceptions while adding 764 rushing yards and three more scores on 112 carries in 2022.

After a tumultuous negotiation, Jackson signed a new five-year contract with the Ravens that is worth $260 million with $185 million guaranteed and an average annual salary of $52 million, making him the highest-paid player in NFL history.

Baltimore also added more offensive talent around him, signing veteran wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and selecting wideout Zay Flowers in the first round of this year's draft.

All of that should create a perfect storm for a bounce-back season from Jackson. He will likely be motivated to prove that the last two seasons were mere anomalies, so the rest of the league should shudder at the thought of a fully-healthy Jackson wreaking havoc on opposing defenses once again.

Garrett Wilson

The reigning NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, Wilson appears to be in line for an even more productive campaign in 2023.

The 23-year-old overcame inconsistent quarterback play in his first year in the league to lead the Jets with 83 catches, 1,103 yards and four touchdowns. After the Jets acquired future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers this offseason, Wilson's future looks even brighter.

The former Ohio State star has drawn rave reviews throughout the offseason. The Athletic's Zack Rosenblatt reported in June that Wilson "looked like the Jets' best player during OTAs."

Since training camp began in New York last week, Wilson has been featured in multiple highlights showing off his budding connection with Rodgers.

The Jets are certainly hoping Wilson and Rodgers will be able to make magic during the 2023 season, as New York is looking to put an end to a 12-year playoff drought.

All indications point to Wilson being a future superstar who will continue dazzling for years to come.

Tariq Woolen

One of the biggest steals of the 2022 draft, Woolen quickly established himself as one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL with a stellar rookie campaign.

The fifth-round pick was named to the Pro Bowl in his first year after tying for the league lead with six interceptions last season while adding 63 tackles, 16 passes defended and three fumble recoveries.

Woolen underwent arthroscopic knee surgery in May, so the Seahawks are unlikely to rush his recovery as they begin training camp this week.

Woolen should also benefit from Seattle's moves this offseason. The Seahawks used the No. 5 pick in this year's draft to select former Illinois cornerback Devon Witherspoon, creating one of the best young cornerback tandems in the NFL. The Seahawks also signed veteran Artie Burns this offseason to add depth and experience to the cornerback room.

Once Woolen is back on the field, he will continue his rapid development into one of the top shutdown cornerbacks in the league.

Jets' Garrett Wilson: 'I Ain't Gonna Fake It, We Want to Win the Super Bowl'

New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson made it clear on his team's first day of training camp that the goal is to win the Super Bowl.

"Yeah, I ain't gonna fake it; we want to win the Super Bowl," Wilson said, per Eric Edholm of NFL.com. "It's OK to talk about it. If you want to go get that s--t, do it."

The pinnacle of the NFL is winning a Super Bowl, so it's not exactly boastful of Wilson to make that claim. It's not as if teams go into a season saying their goal is to win five games.

Wilson has reason for optimism thanks to the arrival of four-time NFL MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who takes over behind center.

New York will also welcome back a few talented players lost midseason due to injury, including running back Breece Hall and offensive guard Alijah Vera-Tucker.

The key pieces of a top-five scoring defense also return, including defensive lineman Quinnen Williams, who is now the owner of a four-year, $96 million extension. Defensive Rookie of the Year cornerback Sauce Gardner is also back for a second season.

New York will get a big test right away when it faces the three-time defending AFC East champion Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football on Sept. 11.

Garrett Wilson: Jets' Offense with Aaron Rodgers 'Super Similar' to Old Scheme

New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson said that the team's 2023 offense under new quarterback Aaron Rodgers and offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett is "super similar" to last year's scheme.

"Lucky for me, it's been super similar, you know, they're both a West Coast offense and have the same premises," Wilson said on SiriusXM NFL Radio's Press Coverage with Vic Carucci and Dan Leberfeld.

"But, you know, with this new offense, there are a few nuances that you just got to be keen on when you're a skilled player in the offense, especially having someone like Aaron Rodgers as your quarterback."

The Jets traded for Rodgers, a four-time NFL MVP, back in April.

New York and Mike LaFleur also parted ways, and the Jets brought in Hackett, who worked with Rodgers as the Packers' OC from 2019-2021.

Rodgers won a pair of NFL MVP in 2020 and 2021 while working with Hackett, who the quarterback called a "really close friend" that he loves "like a brother." That should bode well for an offense that finished fourth-last in the NFL in scoring last year.

The talent is there for the Jets to vastly improve on offense with Rodgers now in the mix. Wilson enjoyed a tremendous rookie season with 83 receptions, 1,103 yards and four touchdowns.

The Jets will also welcome back running back Breece Hall, who looked like a potential Offensive Rookie of the Year before suffering a midseason torn ACL.

New York also brings in some veterans at wideout, including ex-Packer Allen Lazard, Mecole Hardman and Randall Cobb.

Gang Green opens the 2023 season on Monday, Sept. 11 against the reigning three-time AFC East champion Buffalo Bills.

Fantasy Alert: Garrett Wilson Looked Like Jets' 'Best Player' in Offseason Program

As the 2023 fantasy football season quickly approaches, prospective owners should keep an eye on one of the top young pass-catchers in the NFL.

New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson, the reigning NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, has quickly developed a rapport with new quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The Athletic's Zack Rosenblatt reported that the 22-year-old is poised for a big 2023 after turning heads during offseason workouts:

"Their chemistry was already obvious in OTAs, and Wilson looked like the Jets' best player in the offseason program. He looks bigger, faster and ready to take off with some competence at quarterback. I wouldn't be shocked if we're talking about Wilson as one of the five to 10 best wide receivers in the NFL by the end of the season. He's that good."

Wilson led the Jets with 83 catches, 1,103 yards and four touchdowns as a rookie, and he did so with questionable quarterback play throughout the year. 2021 No. 2 pick Zack Wilson was benched twice during the year, and veterans Mike White and Joe Flacco weren't much better.

Wilson should fare better with Rodgers under center. The four-time MVP had high praise for him after their brief time together.

"I love Garrett. I mean awesome, awesome young kid," Rodgers said last month. "The whole world in front of him. He's got all the talent and ability. You need your best players to be the best people on your team. He's definitely one of them."

Fantasy managers who draft Wilson will surely reap the benefits of his new partnership with Rodgers.

As the reigning NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson's career is already off to a strong start.

Now that he will be catching passes from a future Hall of Famer in new Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, Wilson isn't wasting this opportunity to learn from one of the best.

"It's been really special," Wilson told ESPN's Rich Cimini on Sunday while hosting a youth football camp in New Jersey. "I've tried to be as much of a sponge as I can be and make sure I'm learning and spending time with Randall [Cobb] and Allen [Lazard], people that have been around Aaron so that I can make sure I'm picking up the nuances of the offense and try and put myself to where I'm feeling 100 percent comfortable on the field."

After leading New York with 83 catches, 1,103 yards and four touchdowns last season, Wilson appears to be in line for an even more productive campaign this year. The Athletic's Zack Rosenblatt wrote last week that the 22-year-old "looked like the Jets' best player during OTAs."

His new quarterback has also taken notice.

"I love Garrett. I mean awesome, awesome young kid," Rodgers said earlier this month. "The whole world in front of him. He's got all the talent and ability. You need your best players to be the best people on your team. He's definitely one of them"

Wilson will get to put everything he's learned on full display when the Jets open their 2023 season on Monday Night Football against the Buffalo Bills on Sept. 11.

Jets' Aaron Rodgers: Sauce Gardner, Garrett Wilson Could Become NFL's Best CB, WR

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers has high expectations for a pair of teammates entering their second NFL season.

Speaking to Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post, Rodgers talked up wide receiver Garrett Wilson and cornerback Sauce Gardner, suggesting they could both become the best players at their respective positions in the NFL in the near future:

"We've got, at some point possibly, the best corner and the best receiver in the NFL. It's a legit possibility for those two guys. Maybe not this upcoming year—I still think [Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver] Davante [Adams] is in a league of his own—but those two kids are so talented."

The Jets seemingly knocked the first round of the 2022 NFL draft out of the park when they selected Gardner fourth overall out of Cincinnati and Wilson 10th overall out of Ohio State.

Gardner was named a Pro Bowler, first-team All-Pro and Defensive Rookie of the Year by virtue of his 75 tackles, two interceptions and league-leading 20 passes defended.

Despite dealing with a revolving door at quarterback with Zach Wilson, Joe Flacco and Mike White all receiving significant playing time, Wilson enjoyed a spectacular debut season as well.

The talented wideout was named Offensive Rookie of the Year after registering 83 receptions for 1,103 yards four touchdowns.

Gardner and Wilson get to duke it out in practice on a daily basis, and Rodgers believes that level of competition will only serve to make them better:

"How we take the next step is to talk about the things that give us the most issues. To talk about release issues [caused by Gardner] and what's hard on Garrett, and then Sauce telling Garrett what's hard on him. I think right now, we have good communication with those guys. They battle, they compete."

Rodgers is a four-time NFL MVP, one-time Super Bowl champion and future Pro Football Hall of Famer who arrived in New York this offseason with the goal of ending the NFL's longest active playoff drought.

The Jets have not reached the postseason since 2010, but Rodgers gives them the stability they have long lacked under center, and he is surrounded by several of the best young players in the league.

If players like Gardner, Wilson, running back Breece Hall and defensive tackle Quinnen Williams continue to develop as expected, the Jets have perhaps a better chance to reach the playoffs in 2023 than they have in years, and they have a foundation to build upon beyond that as well.

Garrett Wilson: Jets Expect to 'Beat Everyone' in the NFL After Aaron Rodgers Trade

Garrett Wilson is setting his sights high with Aaron Rodgers now under center.

The second-year wideout told reporters he expects to see the New York Jets competing at the top of the NFL next season.

"We expect to compete with everyone in the league, beat everyone in the league, and be one of the better teams in the league," Wilson said Wednesday. "That's always been the mindset, and when we didn't follow through on that, we've always been upset. But I'd be lying if I said that we had someone of Aaron Rodgers' pedigree, and the expectation doesn't go up a little bit."

Wilson was the NFL's Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2022, compiling 83 receptions for 1,103 yards and four touchdowns despite dealing with some of the league's worst quarterback play. Joe Flacco was the only Jets quarterback who had more touchdowns than interceptions, and the quarterback room combined to throw for 4,040 yards and 15 scores against 14 picks.

It wouldn't have taken much for New York to improve this offseason but the team made a major splash, trading for a four-time NFL MVP in Rodgers. While last season saw Rodgers markedly regress after winning MVPs in 2020 and 2021, it's fair to wonder how much that was a byproduct of the Jets' weak wide receiving corps.

New York not only has a clear WR1 in Wilson but also brought in Allen Lazard and Mecole Hardman this offseason, along with holdover Corey Davis.

Provided the Jets defense is as stellar as it was last season, there's a legitimate chance they can compete with the Buffalo Bills at the top of the AFC East in 2023.
