Four members of the Abilene Christian football team's traveling party were injured on Saturday after a car accident involving the team bus following a 52-51 overtime loss against Texas Tech.

"Four individuals received minor injuries—one student-athlete, two coaches and the bus driver," the school said in a statement. "All four were transported to University Medical Center in Lubbock. We're grateful to Texas Tech director of athletics Kirby Hocutt, their team physician Dr. Michael Phy and all of the first responders for their assistance and care."

The accident occurred around 11:45 p.m. CT as the team was traveling from Lubbock to Abilene.

Manny Diaz of KTAB reported that 19-year-old Parker Young was arrested and charged with DWI after allegedly disregarding traffic directions from officers at the intersection of the Marsha Sharp Freeway and University Avenue, colliding with the Abilene Christian team bus.

The bus then crashed into another vehicle.

The incident followed a wild game between Texas Tech and Abilene Christian that saw the Wildcats erase a 32-14 second-quarter deficit and force overtime. Texas Tech scored a touchdown on its first overtime possession and kicked the extra point, and Abilene Christian followed that with a touchdown of its own.

But the Wildcats opted to go for a potential game-winning two-point conversion and came up short, giving Texas Tech the victory.

It was an impressive showing nonetheless from Abilene Christian, which plays at the FCS level in the United Athletic Conference and was a massive underdog against the Big 12's Red Raiders.
